  1. Couple of pics from this morning’s walk about . Lots of jays causing difficulties for the song birds in these woods and after exhausting all other practicable measures, my walk culminated in giving a short lesson regarding the virtues of fac air.?
  2. Good shooting Mark?but more importantly, did you get back in time for the dance off??? ?
  3. Good shooting bn, are you using a lamp/filter or nv fella?
  4. You’re on it SD. Not many people seem use hv’s, but to me they increase the versatility of .22rf. I use everything from bb caps, shorts etc, through to hyper velocity. All have their uses for me?
  5. How did you get on with the yellow jackets SL, have you tried them yet? I used to pop squirrels with them to good effect.?
  6. Well I put a camera on this feeder yesterday as the peanuts are going down now. Despite a carpet of acorns on the woodland floor it looks like they’re on ‘em. I’ll top it up on Monday and see how we go next week. Might have a bash at them in about a week.
  7. The norma’s are rws Mark. They even have the rws head stamp. I don’t know why they’re cheaper, neither does the gun shop, but I’ve read somewhere that they’re rws lower grade ammo and that’s the reason for the pricing. If this is true or not I don’t know? I haven’t tried the norma’s, but we looked at them in the shop and they looked the same as the rws subs. Both distributed by ruag ammotec.....
  8. If the rws are difficult to push in and extract it’s because of the wax/grease that’s gone hard due to age. Norma .22 subs are rws .22 subs in a different box (lower consistency grade I’ve read, hence the price?) Over the years I’ve found eley and rws to be generally good, sk brilliant, but they’ve stopped making the hollow points. Most accurate are the decent target fodder, anything from club ammo upwards. These will group tightly at 100 yards and further if they suit your rifle, where the hollow points will struggle.
  9. Steady....... I don’t work Fridays , too close to the weekend ?
  10. It serves you well Mark, if you’re using Winchester subs, the last ones I had were noticeably louder. I think they were barely subsonic. I’ve been using eley’ s recently, seem a fair bit quieter.??
  11. Boffins come up with a solution to stop an epidemic of giant mice..........?
  12. Yerr, good shooting Mark. Good bag you got there fella, Ruger .22 ?
  13. Would love one of these 110’s in green synthetic thumbhole if they ever make them.
  14. Couldn’t agree more Mark, they make it so easy.......?
  15. Do you mean these bc? Are they accurate, looks like a big hollow point on them?
  16. As far as pcp’s go maybe, but probably still more advanced than any modern springer?
  17. Nice piece, I like the old falcons and titans better than a lot of the new stuff ??
  18. Ever since I’ve had shotguns I’ve had a fourten. I’m wondering now how we will get on with steel shot in them if it’s forced on us?
  19. Looks a bit soft to be driving on, not surprising they got stuck.
  20. Looks like a nice piece bn??
  21. Foxtrot eh? Well, you’re holding your partner all wrong and you need to smile a bit more Ben. Let’s hope you’re not in the dance off....?
  22. Certainly seems like a delicacy Gav, got me hungry now and all I’ve got to manage on is roast pork dinner today ? I suppose I can close my eyes and imagine I’m eating gannets........?
  23. Hmm, crow pie, almost as tasty as fox pie?? ?
  24. Admit it Stavross, you’re staying in tonight because you don’t want to miss strictly come dancing ??
