  1. I stated at the start . Wait at least a 150 days before dropping. Maybe I was just lucky on the half a dozen sites I dropped them .that was 6 year ago . It's good to see them when out walking now . It was a dour walk before hand
  2. They will most likely be the biggest moaners
  3. Yes it is . Wait at least 150 days since rhvd has wiped the place out . Then try and reintroduce. It's worked on half a dozen areas for me . Places may not be over run . But they are back where they were missing for near on 20 year . It does work . That's first hand . However, it works best near villages etc. Then the gunners and summer hunters cant get to them so easy do it preferably in march after the harsh weather kills off diseased rabbits. And they are ready to breed
  4. Instead of ferreting and killing them . Catch them drop them in old sets that have none . Do your bit lads . Beats moaning about it
  5. Hows his all round temperament dai . Is he working bred ?
  6. If you are in Scotland. Theres a couple of Jill's here for you
  7. Totally agree buddy . But I'm not purely talking about working . Mine never seen owt to talk about . But as a guard and a companion. Couldn't be beaten imo . As I said before yokel, they are certainly a master of nothing but can be a jack of all trades ?this old boy never set a foot wrong with people or dogs
  8. Fair play to you buddy . You did the right thing the pures in general ar a bit dumb n who knows, maybe it was the mix that didnt click with that dog ? . Mine was over 14 and pts 2 weeks back . Great animal tbh . Terrible around stock . Really good with dogs if not challenged. People can only give it their best shot at reviving a great dog to former glories. I think the pit has a fair bit to play in that going forward. But as has been said if you haven't owned a pure you dont understand how they get under your skin . And cant really compare when people haven't owned one . Your x breed w
  9. They defo bond with one person for sure . I couldn't look at the wife wrong . Yet he seen me as boss . Took the piss out my missus and daughter. But never tried to take piss out me . Special dogs for some reason. Masters at nothing. But jack of all trades
  10. If you never owned an Ebt , you dont know how they get under your skin ?
  11. Aye , great dogs . Dont think I will get another . Family is distraught. But as you say , not many get to over 14 . . There was an argument over a £100 football polish lads had went up onto sport centre roof and retrieved it . The local lads had waited for the maintenance to get it on the friday . Anyway , they wouldn't give back ant tensions were high . I was walking bye with the pig whilst the poles were playing ( with said ball) . I opened the gate said give me the ball . When I got told to f**k off I simply gave a little lead . The bold fella went straight to him needless to say . The
  12. I lost mine on friday . 14 n half . He was a proper gentleman. Good blusher. But I couldnt break him to livestock. So he was left behind most times . Great temperament. However hed kill a sharpei in a heart beat . They are the missing link tbh . But I reckon that's what makes them intriguing ?
  13. Nice pup . Welcome to the nut house
  14. Haaaaaaaa . You cocked when I said I'd bring double what we minced the next day lol . Just give me a days notice davie bhoy
  15. A mile over the hill from there it's all moorland . Was good a long time ago . But between squads of lads being taken on and thermal shooting it's very poor now. Was always good for pups
  16. Other side of water d . About a mile past caravan park. Just at the little railway tunnel
  17. Did they catch it D . I can mind 30 year back you got them across the clyde from that bit on the flat grass . The made for the mast at top of that hill . Scary stuff when the turned back down ?
  18. I caught it in a place called muirkirk. Was known for whites years back. I caught it just on the edge of the moor . I couldn't tell which it was . As I was doing work in Strathclyde university I asked them if they wanted it . They did , and I was told it was indeed a hybrid. They asked to keep it . I later read that it's a lot more common in Finland. And I've also caught an albino brown
  19. They do in spring and in hardships. More cases of hybridization happen where numbers are struggling. It used to be thought thai it didnt happen . It does . I've caught a hybrid myself
