Agree to an extent . You obviously did a bit wi dogs before shitting the bed . But I seen a clip few year back of scottys dog on a bit of land in central Scotland. Hardly a hare on it . Big land . But it's simply a case of any hare there knows to hit the farm yards . And a dog running fens regularly would have steadied up a bit and most likely get straight lined as they are too bolty . Now imagine i was to run mick with my ratting dogs . I'd be looking to run the biggest land 8 hares a week before heading into his back yard . The famous saying is " horses for courses?

Fireman tom contacted me 12 year back . He'd just put romeo to belle . Said he'd took all the so called studs . Including bully . And they all struggled to dent them as it had been proper wet for weeks . Took romeo on the same land and he had them stopped up and bullying them 5 minutes in both times . They got away into same wood both times . Had he a great mouth he'd have took some beating.

I told him I openly said floyd was a better dog than romeo and that he and big kel had been running fens all season and got their best runs in Scotland . Was cornered myself by him in a village down the east coast after a day where my little whippet x coursing bitch did 2/2 . At the very location he told me it was impossible in a January morning with a light frost on ground. He met up with me to see the evidence and even a couple of pics on the exact pin location. You lads with the deerhound crosses really should get your heads together. Get breeding and sort the breed out . Select wisely and tight .. the coursing bitch chance was as good as owt out there I'm told and had a percentage of deerhound in her .

Yes , but maggie was 5 times better than romeo . They can't all be world beaters . Some are producers . Some are freaks in the field . That 8 minute run was amazing to watch dog n hare . If it hadn't been for the bitches condition she'd have been in trouble. Big big hearted bitch . And hare

As I said before. I seen romeo loads . Good dog . Not the best . But a very good producer. Banger likes buddy bred . Buddy better producer than runner . As I said mick . Ask either of them men . Robbie, with romeo . Big K , with his amazing match bitch. Alistair with muddy . Very very good men . With very strong coursing dogs . Robbies had 5 6 and an 8 minuter. A couple a 2s and a few 3s . Big K had a 5 and a 6 minute runs . Both were on fens all season, said the hares were flying. Went back down the road saying best they'd run all season. FACT . Ask the men .
