fair do's bird you got kick the shit out of anything attacking your dog. I don't like doing it but you have to protect your mutt and face owners after no matter how big they are ?

used 2 little Russell's for ferreting in 1980s great little dogs. as you say they can do a variety of jobs. I only have beddywhippets now but I haven't seen a nice little russell for years.

I got a hobo handline off a fella on ebay. it casts far better than I thought it would caught some nice fish with it. through spring and summer I stick it me pocket when mooching with little lurcher.

I always use a handline with 10 or 12 hooks. bit like mackem said I am a guest Fisher at lots of places.

I call what micky says a proper day's ferreting. for me working alone without permission. I have to pick little setts that the dog marks. I require a quick bolt and move on. it's mooching really and this way you won't get many but I enjoy it.

it's a bit like do you prefer blondes or brunettes. like busher 100 I require ferrets to bolt rabbits or leave them and move on. to some they see this as rabbits missed. I see it as left for another day. other people require ferrets to back up and stay till dug to. like dogs it comes down to the individual. you don't need to be quicker with the locator give them time to bolt that's the ferrets job. I would say your ferrets are doing fine.

it all boils down to what you actually want or expect in a lurcher. katch says he doesn't see the point in small lurchers. I wouldn't want anything above about 21tts.i don't lamp. I require a dog to Bush, hit. cover, reliably mark holes and have enough speed to catch bolters & odd daytime rabbits & pheasant etc. if you lamp & want other stuff obviously they wouldn't suit.

Blue eye was a big step up from car spotlights from scrapyard and motorbike battery. had a 50,000 and a 200,000 or 250,000 can't remember which. brings back memories of holey jeans and jackets, escorts vans and box shaped fiestas. ?
