that's the problem with high standards, you tend not to enjoy the good so much, cos your always looking for the bad, if you get what I mean.
-
Nice work, it's disappointing when dog doesn't mark anything but you have to go with the dog. never fed ferrets moles, but never caught a mole either. it used to be said ferrets won't eat starlings but mine always have.

Yes I had a little blue bitch off him only 18tts. remember taking her to a old gravel pit, loads of setts but majority held nothing, lads got fed up netting up for nothing. we got 10 out of 10 different setts and the little dog marked all 10 rabbits.

I think they were grews. sure he advertised a stud dog called bow? only one I met was George Kelly.
-
memories of the old shooting news. ginger French, George kelly, Carl Williams (whippet x greyhound), Hancock etc. Happy days ?
-
good work ?but I think a professional mole catcher would have used a 7 iron.
-
is true your lawn is that big, lads are knocking on the door asking for permission?
-
you gone all posh tomo ?
-
I have never seen non ped advertised anywhere. can't even find any available for stud. or is it a tight knit thing in racing circles?
-
I know you have worked both. if you wanted a whippet pup nowadays for mooching, ferreting, what would you go for a ped or non ped?.
-
I am still ferreting the same way?
-
hard mouthed is something I have always accepted. all my beddywhippets have had Jaws like a gin trap. don't know if its from the beddy or the Whippet. how big is he Bob?
-
I have had a couple of bigger dogs in past. (only have whippet x now days). decent on lamp and took a few hares, wouldn't tackle whiskers at any cost. yet a neighbour had a first cross greyhound x labrador. it killed cats on regular basis. it killed just about anything.
-
I have seen much more than a ped whippet shy from a cat??

people define game in different ways. I call it driven. a game little rabbit dog, one with plenty of drive will work nettles, brambles, gorse, etc. when right on it's rabbit heading for cover it won't apply the brakes yards from the hedge. it hits cover to make a catch.

I think £2,500.to £3000. seems to be quite regular at the moment.
-
can't help you socks but that looks a cracking little dog. just right for the type of mooching I do. Will be handy pups??
-
I like that trev?. it's the type of ground I work regularly. love to see a good day dog hunt, find and catch it's rabbits. my bitch is doing same type of thing we don't catch a lot but when it comes off it's good.

for me the biggest asset a beddy throws in a lurcher is nose?
-
I know what you mean, funnily enough both my next door neighbours either side live on a council estate.
-
true terriers tend to yap, but I have had beddywhippets yap and beddywhippets that have been mute. heard some say yapping can come from the Whippet but wouldn't know never had a pure whippet yet.
-
I agree, you just don't see them available. always thought a whippet x fell, or whippet x Russell would be spot on for I need.
