  1. There’s some nice new hardware on here over the past couple of days and all in my favourite calibre, enjoy it fella, have you got any quarry in mind for it, deer/fox ?
  2. Like SD I really like the look of that stock, with you and SL I’m getting new toy envy, I’m now starting to think 22-250 or 6.5 creedmoor for no other reason than because I can and I want a new to now ???
  3. Don’t disrespect the Dibnah that man is a legend around theses parts ?
  4. My first venture into shooting was at about the age of 12 or 13 with a Diana, no scope just open sights, me and my mate who was a few years older than me used to go ratting with it down the beck, no doubt mistaking water voles for rats, then we moved on to ducks, rabbits etc, anything we could sell at the working men’s club, different times and I’m only 41, it mad how much life has changed in such a short time, I’ve told my nephew what we used to do and he looks at me like I’m from Victorian times
  5. You certainly can’t argue with that, silent, deadly accurate and at distances I use the .17hmr mouse gun ?
  6. Very nice, a faithful companion for many years to come ?
  7. It’s the same here, nothing moving about in the still hot air, apart from the odd crow circling me like a vulture waiting for me to collapse so it can peck my eyes out
  8. I think it could definitely do with a couple of new seals as they have only been changed once
  9. Not good I’m feeling a bit ruff myself this morning and it’s looking like another hot one 26 degrees and not even 9 o’clock yet, you take it easy I’m sure mrs sausagedog will be there with plenty of cold drinks and cool towels for your head ?
  10. Yep, that would of been me, like I said it never fails with a heavy load, shooting mini magnums it cycles every time
  11. Well another evening and another therapy session for my mate, we were ment to do Monday but he cancelled on me last minute due to some domestic issues, as I was leaving the house my phone rang and he invited himself out, so as I was on my way up the farm to shoot as they combined I took him with me, walking along with the combine he shot a couple of bolting rabbits and had a go at a bolting fox which luckily for me he missed and it ran straight past me, no more than 15 yards and the 40g 3’s mini magnum stopped it in its tracks, so that was it for here as once they had cut the headlands he call
  12. Where I’m off to now is owned by my mates dad and on more than one occasion I’ve had people asking me what I think I’m doing and they are going to call the police, when I’ve mentioned it to the land owner he offers me his 78 years of wisdom, tell them to f*ck off and mind there own business and if they call the police and they turn up ring me and I’ll come up and inform the officers that they are trespassing and tell him to f*ck off, I love farmers ?
  13. That’s mental mate, he should try using his time to catch smack heads robbing old ladies rather than someone keeping on top of the numbers of a rather tasty pest
  14. a little bit of a breeze si and with any luck you will soon get through that slab ?
  15. You win Bernie sausage, I can’t think of anything worse than welding in this heat, we have hit 34 and that’s enough for me, my mate thought it would be funny to put a woolly hat on as he sat in his air conditioned cab, while I’m on an open top dumper with no shade, he won’t be laughing tomorrow when I don’t turn up because I’ve got sun stroke and to top it off his brother has just rang to say they are starting to combine at 6:30 and will I go and walk the cut for the foxes and rabbits, a cracking bit of fun but not after the day I’ve just had, but if you want to keep these places, no I’m knack
  16. I want that hat, you need some corks hanging from it ?
  17. It’s certainly to hot for that sort of carry on, we have hit 33 degrees now and I think I might melt, I’m looking forward to winter ?
  18. I thought it was to hot for walking around the shoot the other week, but that’s nothing compared to today, just before 11 and 28 degrees, certainly not the weather for ditching in a field, drink plenty and stay in the shade if you can fella’s it’s going to be a scorcher, I might have to give the foxing a miss tonight ?
  19. My hatistani will cycle 36g and above all day long, so if you want to wreck what you shoot it’s just the job, it will jam on 32g every 10 shots or so and anything under that forget it
  20. To be fair I like driving tractors ( I’m a bit weird like that) just not after I’ve been at work all day and just wanted a wander out in the fresh air ?
  21. That’s a cracking write up, I want to read memoirs of ianm ( a true fox smasher ), I’ll only take 2% for coming up with the title, but would like to be acknowledged in the book ??
  22. When I got the new .243 we first tried it with hornady 58 grain and it really didn’t shoot them well so the lad at the shop went and got the sako 70 grain and bingo lovely grouping, my last one wouldn’t shoot 100 grain but would shoot 90’s and that one would shoot the 58 grain no problems, I guess it’s just a matter of seeing what works in yours, but if you have a few ideas of what works for others at least you have a place to start ?
