  1. it certainly looks lucky Dave, best of luck to you and SD, ???
  2. That’s a really good idea and something I think I’m going to start doing, you never know when that information will come in handy ?
  3. I didn’t go looking for it as I’d lost the light and didn’t have a lamp with me because I wasn’t planning on staying until it got dark, I also knew that me or the farmers lad would be there this morning, it turn out that it was closer than I had thought, he rang me to say it was in the second cut where as I thought it was on the hedge back, so there’s a good chance I wouldn’t of found it last night, where I thought it was is about 135 yards, where it actually was will of been under 100, I asked him could he send me a picture of it for my records and his reply was “ what you doing taking pictur
  4. With that little foxy fecker playing on my mind I thought I’d give it an hour before I lost the light, on arrival I headed to the rear field where the miss happened as I came to the end of the hedge back I spotted the little begger crossing the field on a public right of way, unable to take the shot as I would be shooting in the direction of a caravan park I got myself set up at the top of the field hoping to draw it up the field with the hare call, giving it 40 minutes or so and starting to loose the light I spotted a shadow making its way from the front field along the far hedge back, so th
  5. To match their lifestyle choices ??
  6. For starters I’d have to be able to hit the first one ?
  7. A good few years back I was out with a mate of mine fox shooting about this time of year and spotted a cub about 120 yards or so away, now at the time he was using a 30-06, I know this is way over the top but he liked it, anyway he took the shot with the fox side on and down it went, as we walked over it became apparent that there was two on the ground mirroring each other, it must of been exactly in line with the first one when he took the shot
  8. Think I’m going to give the hare call a go or sobbing northern ?
  9. Definitely the £1.50, I’m not bloody made of money
  10. With the first fields of cut barley I gave the long one a shout and off we went for a wander for an hour, walking the hedgebacks coming across a lot of foxy evidence we set ourselves up the other side of the field with the wind blowing at us, with the caller on a mouse call we gave it 30 minutes or so, nothing showing so turned to rabbit distress, a few minutes in and up popped Charlie exactly were we thought it would come from, so up with the rifle and at no me than 130 yards you would think it was a done deal, but not in this case, as soon as I squeezed the trigger I knew the shot wasn’t goo
  11. Nice work and some good numbers, it’s good to see them hitting the stubbles hard ?
  12. By the way the neck looks I’ll have a fiver on mink, that fox is just an opportunist
  13. I have a Kawasaki 300 quad on our little shoot and the reason for this is it was £1000 and does everything I need it to do, with a box bolted to the rear and front racks I can carry 8 bags of feed on it plus the shotgun ?
  14. Yeah them 70’s ballistic do a proper job don’t they, you know about them, when you made a new rug for your front room ?
  15. It just look like a cat litter tray strapped to the tow bar ?
  16. I use dpt mods now, you can fully strip them and because they are a stack mode you can customise it to your own spec, it will cost you about £250 for a standard off the shelf one that I have on my .243, the old boy that runs the company couldn’t be anymore helpful if you need any advice, I wouldn’t use anything else now ?

  18. I’ve told you lot before, the lad in the gun shop said all the best lads have it on the left and that’s why it costs more ?
  19. Have a look at the Sako 70 grain ballistic tip for the fox, nothing runs off when hit with them, there’s also 90’s and 100’s SP gamehead for bambi, for me plastic is always the way to go, nice wood belongs on a shotgun ?
  20. There’s some nice new hardware on here over the past couple of days and all in my favourite calibre, enjoy it fella, have you got any quarry in mind for it, deer/fox ?
  21. Like SD I really like the look of that stock, with you and SL I’m getting new toy envy, I’m now starting to think 22-250 or 6.5 creedmoor for no other reason than because I can and I want a new to now ???
  22. Don’t disrespect the Dibnah that man is a legend around theses parts ?
  23. My first venture into shooting was at about the age of 12 or 13 with a Diana, no scope just open sights, me and my mate who was a few years older than me used to go ratting with it down the beck, no doubt mistaking water voles for rats, then we moved on to ducks, rabbits etc, anything we could sell at the working men’s club, different times and I’m only 41, it mad how much life has changed in such a short time, I’ve told my nephew what we used to do and he looks at me like I’m from Victorian times
  24. You certainly can’t argue with that, silent, deadly accurate and at distances I use the .17hmr mouse gun ?
