    So I was flicking through bbc news on my phone this morning and came across an article on road kill from Cardiff university called project splatter, apparently they have an app that allows you to report road kill so they can collect the information and where the death rate is high they put a sign up or something as equally pointless, anyway badgers topped the list this month with 905 reported followed by foxes at 475, not surprising being the time of year that it is, now in the article they estimated the badger population to be around 485,000 and the fox population to be around 250,000 nationw

    You can only do your best but when it comes down to it some luck is always needed, I’ve sat out 3 nights in a row in the past on fox patrol, never seeing one and then when I’ve been feeding up one has ran along the pen fence, hopefully when ours go in in about 4 weeks it will run as smoothly as last season ?

    Google, 3M peltor kids, this is what we put on my little mate Hugo, they are only about 15 quid off Amazon, they do adult ones in the peltor range as well but I don’t think they will do the pink ones to fit you ?

    Yep, that’s a lot of fox for that size ground, have the save the fox nutters been using the area for releasing there patched up urban’s, you will definitely get a couple of good nights out at them ?

    Yeah I think I paid £680 for it, what I have noticed with vortex is the quality of the glass, I’ve used the cheaper models and never seen any misting, what they say it’s capable of seems to be the case, unlike a lot of other scopes ?

    I use the 6x24x50 LR Vortex viper on my .243 and the glass is superb, no milky view on high mag and the amount of light it pulls in is amazing, I’ve used swarovski’s that are no better and twice the price, I’ve shot out to over 500 yards at a target with it and it is crystal clear

    So with the temperature around 30 I had the bright idea of a walk around the pheasant shoot, what was I thinking ?, not only was the heat mental but the flies were borderline unbearable, but as I had driven there I thought sod it, I’m here now so set off towards the spud field as this is the only place where you can still see anything, after 20 minutes or so with the caller on rabbit distress I could see movement no more than 35 yards to my left, a minute or so later out popped a cub, so a head shot at that distance was the end of that one, being so close and using the 70 grain .243 this one d

    I love my T bolt .17 but my front door handle has a better feel to it than the trigger on the browning, I would like all the fancy bits on the T bolt but with the trigger from my cz .17, I had a go at adjusting it a while back and it did make it a little lighter but did nothing for the feel

    I’m going to have to take it back to the shop, a few people have mentioned that the bolt is on the wrong side now, the lad in the shop told me that all the best lads have them that way round and that’s why it was 200 quid more and gullible me believed him ?

    100% I would of shot them if asked to and being Cubs the others would of hung around after the first shot, to clear them all together P.S. that’s a lovely scene where you are ?
