    Well I’ve come up to my new bit of land, been calling for 20 minutes and dropped these two little fellas, this looks to be a cracking spot and there’s still two massive fields of wheat to come down ?

    So I’m at work with my mate and his brother has just rang to ask if I wanted a bit of fox shooting, well obviously I said yes, it turns out it’s 200 acres of farm land 10 minutes from my house and I can shoot anything I want on there, only one rule is I can only go on my own, suits me, I told him I don’t know the difference between sh*t and guts and he said he won’t hold it against me as long as what ever is on the floor is dead, today has been a good day so far ?

    We have put all this effort into the pens and approximately 10 days after they go in and have settled in getting to know where food, water and safety is I’ll be opening the back of the pens up and setting them free into the woods, they never do well up here if you keep them in the pens to long and I’ve finally managed to get a couple of others to stop dogging them in because it just stresses them out, the pellets arrived on Friday ( some medicated) and I’ve got some water additive wormer just in case, so fingers crossed for a bit of sun on their backs

    Well I may not be able to tell sh*t from guts but I can certainly put a pheasant pen together on a shoe string budget ? the second pen is now finished, all new wire around the bottom, full new electric fence, new pop holes and a new drinker system with new 1000lt IBC all for under 200 quid and a bit of hard graft, the birds are coming a week tomorrow so the enjoyable part is almost here ?

    I went back to where I took little Hugo last night, mainly to check if the bait we left had gone and partly to get out the house for a bit, I took the .17 with me to put another couple of rabbits out, I had a good walk around checking the rabbit population and for any foxy evidence, not seeing many rabbits I shot 3 all well over 100 yards and headed off to bait up again, when I got to where I’d baited last night the rabbit was still there but was joined by what looked like a badger turd, a little bit odd that it never took the rabbit, walking back to the car I spotted some eyes with the lamp w

    They will be upping the price to cover the cost of the aid package to Beirut after their massive grain store went with a bang

    All the oilseed rape is off around here now and talking to my mates brother who owns the land, he said they have had a very good yield this year, he said the wheat will be off in a week or so, some good, some not so good due to the amount of rain we had just after it was drilled, he ploughed in a couple of fields and redrilled in the spring so they will be a bit low, I get my feed wheat from him and if he puts it up to £170 a ton I won’t be shooting rabbits for him I’ll be live trapping them an releasing them on his land, I wasn’t happy two years ago when he put it up from £100 to £120

    Well no fox but we did get to show the little fella two fine looking roe doe’s and a hare that he was amazed by but couldn’t quite grasp that it wasn’t a massive rabbit, he started to flag a bit by half 10 so we headed home, now he has a new adventure to tell his vegan teacher ?

    Another little raffle, not a book this time but a pair of gloves, I was given these a few days ago, they are new and have never been used, they are size L, neoprene, I’ve got loads of pairs of gloves so they will just sit in the cupboard, if any of you would like them, let me know and I’ll put your name in the hat ?

    If you put pbir in google it takes you to a basic page that tells you to contact him on Facebook or email him, that’s what I did because I don’t use Facebook and he makes them to order, mine took about 3 weeks to turn up and I think it was £120, I put it on my nv spotter and it doubles the distance you can pick eye shine up, they are 3 mode and the beam is adjustable and it uses the same batteries as the nightmaster torches his email is Paulbarker6555@gmail.com

    I watched that last night and if I was letting him review my gear I wouldn’t be happy with that, I’ve used the digex and on a night with a PB laser ir on it, the image quality was superb, there was only 2 things that put me off, 1 was the price ( I’m northern) and the other was the daytime use, it was affected by sunlight quite badly, I’m not sure if you can do anything about that, on the up side they look better than any other night vision and they are simple enough for the likes of me to use, if I was only going to use it on a night I’d have one ? on another note the bloke from the opt

    Same thing happens around here in the autumn, there’s Yarm fair and stokesley fair, both are affluent areas and they are nothing but bother when they are here, most businesses shut and some people move out for a week

    When I was a lad all it took was a small group of naughty boys about 14 or 15 years old who didn’t give a sh*t and look at it as a bit of sport, there old knacker they were clip clopping about on was never a match for my RM250 and they would soon get sick of you letting their horses free when they were out on the rob
