  1. All day today setting the pheasant pens up because my birds will be here at 6 in the morning, when my birds first come I have 10 days with them and don’t go to work, but just got the go ahead for a farm demolition job so might have to drop onto that
  2. Quick spaghetti bolognaise tonight before I’m off out looking for gingers
  3. Yeah, it cleans really easy, with all the other natural stones they are porous so the dirt get into the stone but porcelain isn’t so it’s just on the surface, just don’t drop anything on it because it chips easily
  4. Got the courtyard finished, just got to wait now for decorative metal edging for the flower beds so I know where to cut the paving p.s I haven’t missed one out, I know part of the flower bed will be there
  5. I was just taking a bit of a guess because I stay away from it, I might have to have a go for £150 m2
  6. It depends what look you want, if you want a very modern, high end look then my opinion is nothing looks as good as porcelain if you want traditional I’d go reclaimed, things like Yorkshire stone, if you want just a nice average patio I’d go for natural stone, like Indian sandstone
  7. That’s the reason I won’t do it, if you have an edge slightly up it stands out a mile and the whole job looks sh*te, I’ve done polished sandstone before and that was a nightmare, the customer chose and hates it now, because it’s slippy when wet and like a 150m2 ice rink when it cold, when done right, like in them pictures, porcelain looks amazing, I just don’t think I’m good enough to put it down like that
  8. Going off 50m2 I’d say between 4/5k, you want to be looking at between £80 to £100 per m2 supplied and laid, but again it all depends on the prep
  9. It’s hard to give a price without knowing what’s going down and what prep needs to be done, looking at the measurements, rounding it off to 200m2 in porcelain ( which I won’t do ) I’d say supply and lay around £16k between 4/5k of that would labour
  10. I must of been channeling ditch, because I also went stew tonight, chicken, leek, turnip, carrot and spuds, with the leftover tender stem
  11. I give up with this clown, told him the wooden stairs needed to come out and they were rotten ( this is going to be an air B&B ) he then said don’t do anything until he comes down, came down and he wants them taking out carefully because he’s going to have them repaired, they are fu*ked, so only got one row down, I thought I’m not volunteering to do the stairs and I’m billing him for a full day as well
  12. Fishcakes tonight, I took Mitres advice and made a little parsley and white wine sauce just to keep things moist
  13. These have got a proper cow shed piss smell about them, fu*k knows how long they will smell like this, they have been in the crates for 12 months outside, when you run the stihl saw through them they smell like hot piss
  14. Well, I thought theses were horrible when I got here this morning, now they are starting to go down they suit the courtyard, they must of been reclaimed from a farm because the smell like they have been in a cow shed for the past 100 years
  15. Got here this morning as the paving has arrived, completely not what they said it was, reclaimed and all different sizes, not new and all the same size and now wants it pointing not resin, good job this is on a day rate
  16. No, just a cheap rolled joint from Asda
  17. Slow cooker or in a pot in a low oven, with stock, thyme, tomato and owt else you want to chuck into it for the gravy, that fat will go into the gravy
  18. Pot roast beef, seen as I didn’t get one yesterday, gravy was lovely
  19. I think this lads a bit of a dark horse, not really cooking much and now he’s making his own ice cream
  20. It’s a chunk of beef that’s been in a pot getting to know a load of veg for the past 2 hours
  21. Going to be some good gravy from this
  22. Na, I just left the shell on
  23. Knackered tonight because I’ve been grafting all day, Mrs went to her mams to be fed, so I did myself roasted pepper and chorizo spaghetti with an egg on top it was bloody lovely
