  1. When I was up there today I had a run over a part of the shoot know as the valley, it’s not somewhere we shoot now and don’t put any birds over there anymore, but with the birds been late I’m thinking of places where I could draw a few birds to make a small drive, the valley is right on the edge of our land and can be a good drive early in the season, there’s a good group of beech trees and when there’s a good amount of beech mast’s they seem to hold a few once they find them, anyway, the crop looks good this year even with the lack of water, so a feeder or two might be going over there, on th
  2. ? I wonder if he was pointing the finger at me, he should know I wouldn’t of turned the water off, now being in there scooping them up in a landing net like the child catcher, maybe ?
  3. Hopefully if everything goes to plan I’ll have you up for another go this season, maybe not the last day this time ?
  4. There’s always some drama, normally where we are it’s something to do with the public, I was talking to next doors keeper today ( when I’m not threatening him I like to get info out of him ?) and he was going mental about the riff raff from the caravan park, he like me just plays at it and isn’t a proper keeper, apparently some of the chav’s had turned the water off at both his pens, he said he got there just in time ( whatever that meant ) I’ve got water butts 800 yards from his pen so they are welcome to come and drink from them ?
  5. So. I’ve decided to start a new thread for the 22/23 season up at the shoot now as you know I’ve been involved with my shoot for a long time ( 15 years or so ) my intention when I joined was to shoot it a bit, give days to others in exchange for other shooting and to get all the pest control and the deer, ( it only took me a couple of years to get what I wanted ?) never to be a syndicate keeper, things changed properly last year when I was asked to run the full thing, for the last 4 or 5 years I’ve done the majority of the work up there but we always used to share the feeding. Anyway, aft
  6. ? I was the same, I’d been out to a club called the Blue Monkey, chewing my chops off, got home had a few bits and bobs to calm me down, put the radio on in my bedroom and came round a bit late for a little top up to help me sleep and it was on the radio, I couldn’t work out if it was real or I was tripping, a very confusing morning ?
  7. This is nice, could get messy, it’s like drinking pop ?
  8. A recent one but again it’s about making memories, it’s nice to be out on your own like I was the last couple of nights but it’s also nice to spend time out with friends, sometimes it doesn’t go to plan but when it does they are the time you remember ?
  9. There’s some ruff arse women in billo, including my sister in law, all walking around the town in Ugg boots and pyjama bottoms, lips sticking out further than their noses, just blown the family tax credit making themselves look like they’ve been on fire ? ?
  10. We use to go to the forum every Friday night, we’d say to our mams and dads we were going ice skating get the money to get in then spend it on a bottle of MD20/20 or a bottle of white lightening go to the forum and fight with lads from Billingham, cause havoc and then get chased home by the bizzies ? good times
  11. Oow Jet? ( Diane Youdale ). She lived with her parents not far from me in Billingham we used to ride our BMX’s past the house trying to get a glimpse of her, we weren’t the only ones, the street was always full of young lads trying to impress with wheelies and bunny hop’s on their Raleigh Burner’s, if she was there and you got a wave you were made up ?
  12. Jesus, you’ve got some fu*ked up foxes down your way, just as well your out nailing them, doing em a favour ??

  15. I’ve never seen one rapped in elec cord, might be one of them ruff urban foxes, out burgling currys, I did once shoot one with a snare around its waste that had almost cut it in half, no idea how it was still walking around P.S. I can still get into 32” jeans, I just have a pair for each leg ?
  16. I was talking to someone the other day who has a C50 and he was saying he’d had nothing but bother with it, he was saying it wouldn’t zero and was always shooting high, just sounded like a mount problem to me, I said I’d give him 300 quid for it, but he thinks I’m trying to rip him off ??
  17. Good job ? had the C50 lost zero?
  18. Glad this is my mates job, the whopper is about 20 sleepers short? taking shape now, double wall so a flower bed will surround the patio and fake grass ?
  19. Cracking night out, the low whistle is my preferred way to stop them, there’s nowt worse than been out with someone who gives the loudest O’i you have ever heard and then says when it runs off at a million miles an hour “ something spooked it” yes it was YOU, you crank, ?
  20. 100% pheasant shooting should be done in the snow night time fox shooting in the snow is quality and deer stalking in a winter wonderland I always treat myself to a day off when it snows, just to go out shooting ? Don’t panic mate, it will soon be freezing, windy and raining for at least 6 months ??
  21. Hopefully we’ll get a bit of the white stuff this year ?
  22. Won’t be long until you are back to the 1st one with an apprentice ?
  23. Sacked the drain off because tree roots have got into the clay pipe so 25’ needs replacing, they are getting a floor saw because the concrete is between 6” and 8” in front of the door, said he’d ring me, I might block his number ? back to another sleeper wall before it’s filled in and covered with a patio and fake grass ?
  24. It’s secured with fence posts on the corners and joints, then I use 150mm and 200mm decking screws to fasten it all together from the inside so you can’t see anything ?
