  1. I've actually just found a WSM at a RFD about 14 miles from me. Never seen one for real before so I may just pop in and touch it!
  2. Don't make life harder than it needs to be, don't mention you want to bring your dog and children as well. You can ask about that later when you get established!
  3. Pump Action is not common in the UK for whatever reason, they do seem quite keen on them in the US though, and Mossberg are well known as the market leaders in Pump. That is not to say they are necessarily the best, but they will give you the best choice and they work, agricultural is the sort of term but that's not really right, more mechanical engineering. Anyway, think carefully before investing in a Pump, consider if it is really the tool for the job!
  4. There are very few rimfire, and no centrefire mods I am aware of that contain felt/acoustic wadding. Whilst setting the stuff alight can never be discounted (it is all but impossible generally), the pressures generated dislodge the material over time and you may well notice the bullet channel through the mod starts looking wooly. This of course can have an effect on bullet path.
  5. If you are desperate for a pump then Mossberg, if a semi go Beretta or Benelli. Get what is best, not what is near you!
  6. Events have surprised me a little, but many years ago when it was suggested we will see these "next year", I more than made the point, don't hold your breath? In fairness, I simply expected it to take 2 or 3 years longer until the UK as poor relations actually had a allocation, I didn't expect events to take the turn they have! Pretty close, I think the number in the UK is about in line with hens teeth, and certainly no immediate expectations of them arriving in bulk and taking the market by storm!
  7. I'm off to Bisley today, often see lots of this sort of thing, I'll have to look a bit closer!
  8. Nice looking gun, but in honestly I have little to no knowledge of those things! Is that old, as the style would suggest or modern, seems in remarkable condition.
  9. I'll take the table and chairs please!
  10. I drive a Land Rover, I'm allowed to do that!
  11. We all know the fox (any wildlife can get twitchy) but as I always say to clients, don't change your routine, just get on with what you normally do and we'll see what happens! Well done, they all count!
  12. Now here is the thing, I actually know they are half decent scopes, I've had a couple of Leopolds, but for whatever reason they have never set me alight and are no longer on my radar!!
  13. Is it just the angle, that looks a half decent head to?!
  14. I do this as a business, but I also have a few sites where the above is spot on, and the truth is ……………. nice stroll around in nice weather with great company all in all a good time...……………. it can be exhilarating!
  15. Isn't that funny, about 3 weeks back I waited in a Supermarket Car Park as the Boss "Just need to get a couple of things...I'll only be 5 minutes" went shopping. 25 minutes before I saw her again, I was about to send in a search part!y Totally agree, it is simply amazing watching not only womankind, but to be fair, a couple of blokes as well, being so completely and totally inept. It honesty, I did actually see a few woman make it look effortless, but overall I could not believe what I was seeing! Then, can you believe it, a bloke bought his kiddy along and put it on the potty ri
  16. After playing with various cheap scopes I eventually gave up and bought one of these about 20 years ago for my air rifle, it was £200 at the time, went up to £210 shortly after that and seemingly stayed at that price for years. Personally, I have to say they are still excellent VFM, lord knows what happened, but they disappeared years back, (copies turned up quickly) only to re-appear again a few years ago. I only got shot of mine because of the lack of Parallax adjustment...my eyes are not what they were. Great scopes!
  17. I'm not really following, there normal excuse is down to native inhabitants, but I have heard about this reasoning as well recently. Fortunately I'm fine down this area, got my ticket and tags no problem, and there are a lot about round here!
  18. The specific wildlife that the bullet from the moderated rifle may hit is never the reason for fitting a moderator! Even on sub sonic ammo the infinitesimal time the sound may reach the quarry before the bullet hits will not give it time to react!
  19. It may well look nicely made but it isn't very good! The SM11 gets a much better rating for £40 less and even the SAK is better at around £90 LESS! https://www.shootinguk.co.uk/reviews/shotgun/17hmr-calibre-sound-moderators-review I know 2 separate people personally who both made the mistake of buying the Whisper, BOTH are disappointed!
  20. Oh, the wonders of wide angle lenses...about 2 pound I'd guess! ...and your attempts at an Afro hairdo aren't very convincing!
  21. I am lucky to be close to both the Loddon and Kennet Rivers which both have good Barbel, but to be honest I don't spend enough time on them!
  22. ….I blame all the so called "experts" spouting doom and gloom, apparently half of Swindon is uninhabitable do to Radon, and almost all of the West country! Radiation is still arriving from Japan too, (apparently it took the long route) and Welsh sheep glow in the dark....don't shoot prone from the grass!
  23. I agree, and I don't give a fig how well the exposure was controlled and monitored...………………………... I'll stay well away thanks!
