+£16 for the tunnel......still a lot cheaper than a Kania for squirrel or fox traps etc! Its all going up, but seems I have problems whenever I talk about increased charges to my clients!

They are Sound Moderators! Ok, in a sense they are not caliber specific, in so much as you could use your .308 on a .22lr, but not reverse, so then they are caliber specific. You will also find the best moderation tends to come from one with the most caliber specific hole (ok, lets not get into this debate over which MAKE may be better). So there is probably a bigger argument to say they are caliber specific than not!

Another good evening on the foxes.

There are a few about at the moment, has this hot weather brought them out more...….. or is it all down to Brexit?! -
Is it just me, there is no doubt this is very clever but I'm struggling to find it funny now. I used to roll around with some of his historical characters, but this just didn't do it for me last night!

To be honest he is a lot braver than me, sod all those Geiger counters/detectors/alarms, there is no way you would get me as close as he went!

I honestly don't know what the SA80 is really capable of, but a big problem, without any doubt is the ammo. Some developed hand loads may well do better! Who knows, who has tried? -
…..anyway, Hamiltons a cocky git with an attitude!

I can't really say much about the Verminator as I know very little about it, but I have had a lot of experience with the Rapid, Regular and FAC, in truth they take some beating. I'm still not really sure what actually led to the demise of Theoben, business attitude and internal friction I think...shame!

James Hunt only won the world championship because Nikki Louder crashed out (and nearly died) then called it a day in the rain at the end of the season when he might still have won the World championship. A Certain Michael Schumacher alledidly took out a rival to win a World championship, and there are many other examples. Teams play TEAM tactics to win the World Championship (even when they were not allowed to). A subject that could, no doubt, be debated long and hard. What makes the best driver/team...the one that wins at the end of the season!
-
Whoever wins the World Championship does it on Merit (and a brilliant team behind them). I have thought about this historically...……………. he only won because XXX blew their engine...…...he only won because YYY crashed out and got injured...… he only won because he was lucky...…...he only won because ZZZ ???????????????????....and so it goes! I take the simple attitude now that what comes around goes around, and the season is long, at the end of the season the best driver/team won!

Your average squaddie would be happy with 6" at 400 yards. Frankly, that is a kill shot every time out to 400yards, which obviously doesn't happen! Whilst the guns were never designed as target tools the ammo is a chunk of the problem. My understanding is that Radway Green were almost forced to make 5.56 for the British army, the result, put simply, is they don't give a fig about the ammo quality, an that has been my experience using the stuff! -

Deker replied to Scentfarrell's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
Yep, I have a couple of half decent pike sites, but usually a bit later in the year. Caught them all year round just the same, and one near 20lb in the summer of 1978, on very light gear when after Roach in the Thames. Took forever to get in and caused chaos with all the boat traffic, ended up with a big audience all round! -

Never say never, but...….I wish you well, a lot of people would be pleased to get 6" groups with a CZ 527 in .223 at 400 yards with 5.56 ammo! Let us know how you get on at the range. ATB! -
Now that's an interesting point!

You are more than welcome to hand/send the SAK to me if it is surplus to requirements! Cheers

Pure air gunning,- Decoying with the HW97 K .177
Deker replied to mark williams's topic in Airgun Hunting
That's good going with an air rifle (of any sort). -
That would be my view, if I knew I was after Fox and they would be 100 yards I would take my HMR/WMR!
-
I thought they were different internal construction, the Air Rifle version certainly has some additional acoustic felt internally, this is seldom the case with a rimfire etc., mod! Perhaps I'm wrong, does anyone know for sure?
-
Fair enough, that being the case I guess the bipod would have to come off then. It takes less than 5 seconds to take off a Harris with the stud fitting, so I guess its not a deal breaker!
-
Help me out, looking at the front stud in the op, why would you need to take the bipod off to fill the gun? I just don't see why, what have I missed, can you tell me please!? Cheers https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=bsa+r10+with+bipod&qpvt=bsa+r10+with+bipod&view=detail&mid=9A56E02408C079E6DE779A56E02408C079E6DE77&&FORM=VRDGAR
-
???? have you got a bottle fit Bipod? The OP has studs on the stock, plenty of Bipod fittings attach to that, so no problem with filling!
-
Bipods will always give you an edge when compared to free shooting, it's just a matter of how much edge you may need, how often, and what is the trade off having one fitted. As others have mentioned, support can also commonly be found by way of fences, trees, buildings, car bonnets, your mates shoulder etc., but not always of course, also balance this with general airgun distances. That leaves you with a personal decision based on your own shooting needs. I have studs fitted on my FAC Falcon so a Harris is quick and easy, but it is rare I attach one. On the other hand, my rimfi

It was never going to last, we may have set a few records with the hot spell, but normal UK Summer service seems to have been restored, Rain forecast every day for the next 10 days my way!

Deker replied to riflehunter583's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
The OP says CZ have said they build their guns to take the roughly 20% extra pressure form 5.56 so that shouldn't be a problem. That being the case I question why they stamp them as .223 and not .223/5.56! The main problem is performance as you mention, 5.56 is notoriously cheaply made, inaccurate and inconsistent. Strange as it may seem I am still using what's left of a 5000 batch of Radway Green 7.62 from 1985 and it is remarkably good, regrettably my experience with their 5.56 is quite the opposite!
