Always entertaining, another one gone, shame!

Whatever any other country wants to do is up to them, the Government in this country wants them controlled and would happily see them gone, they are not interested in keeping some as a food source for anything, and they are certainly not interested in anybody's Sport shooting them! The Romans imported them and somehow our wildlife survived without them prior to that, I am well aware wildlife has evolved since then to accommodate the whole situation, perhaps whatever relies on them now would like to consider Signal Crayfish, Canada geese, Grey squirrel, Muntjac etc instead!

........….and without them you would have no sport!

It does appear that VHD is here and the ultimate result is anyone's guess at the moment, but history suggests to me this will not be the end of the rabbit in the UK or the world. I have no idea if this is a painful death but it can often be within 48hours of contamination and the mortality rate is high, but some do survive. The Government has been trying to control/remove rabbit from the wild in this country for many many years, they are not there for our sport, and we are only allowed/instructed to remove them because they are a pest. Whilst some see VHD as an affront to their

I'm not interpreting anything, I made a statement which you have shown to be accurate but insist isn't. There were also more rabbits in 1995 than between around 1905-1920, what's your interpretation of that then!?!
-
I didn't made a comment about rabbit population since the Romans introduced the European Rabbit to the UK. I said..... It was reported a few years ago there were more rabbits in the UK than when myxomatosis was introduced. Which part of that is wrong? You said When myxi was introduced it knocked the population back permanently. Your graph clearly shows that is incorrect and my comment is accurate, the GWCT Graph shows there were circa 2.5x as many rabbit in 1995 as there were in the year before mixxy was introduced!! The graph also shows that in every year since arou

You can invent anything you like, I made an accurate statement based on your comments which were then supported by the graph YOU supplied and all you are doing now it trying to tell me the graph is not accurate and not believable. For example, there's clearly a strong correlation of reduced population with the onset of the war. Thats probably not real and needs correcting for and is a good example of why you have to look at all the data Ha Ha, more ill informed guesswork on your part, the UK went mad for rabbit during the Second World War, it was fresh meat and at a premium, everyo

What on earth are you talking about?? I said..... It was reported a few years ago there were more rabbits in the UK than when myxomatosis was introduced. Which part of that is wrong? You said When myxi was introduced it knocked the population back permanently. Oh yes, and there are not many things that can't be repaired..at a cost, but I wouldn't look at that option, or even investing in a new one until you find out what caused the problem!

Crumbs, 95, not a bad innings, gave many a youngster (and adults) some wild dreams!
-
Over what period has this happened? You had a row with the misses?? That's serious damage, could potentially have been deliberate! Funny moth doing that. Just possible mice or rats but...……..

You presented a graph which clearly supported my statement and showed you were wrong, but you keep insisting otherwise. How on earth can you say When myxi was introduced it knocked the population back permanently. when your graph clearly shows there were more in various subsequent years than when mixxy was introduced!
-
I didn't ignore anything, I made a factual comment which your graph clearly shows to be correct but for some reason you seem to suggest my comment was wrong. It was reported a few years ago there were more rabbits in the UK than when myxomatosis was introduced.

I did, enlighten me! I said..... It was reported a few years ago there were more rabbits in the UK than when myxomatosis was introduced. Which part of that is wrong? You said When myxi was introduced it knocked the population back permanently. Your graph clearly shows that is incorrect and my comment is accurate!

???? what is that graph meant to represent??? If it is rabbits it supports my comment as it clearly shows numbers in circa 1995, and various other more recent years are higher than when Myxomatosis was introduced!
-
This is an obvious technological progression and I suspect this or a similar system will be mandatory at birth soon.

Unless your ONLY shooting activity is Benchrest then Swivel every time!

Are you talking 12ft lb? Each to their own but I don't use a rangefinder and don't have an issue. I use everything from 12ft lb to .308 so distances vary a lot. Its experience and practice, and night estimating is another challenge altogether, but it seems to work for me! If I can see the target I can shoot it, mist/fog is my real concern as it really screws up sight lines and can even have an effect on bullet path! I do my best to stay out of ran/snow/fog etc, but not because the rangefinder struggles!

Hope you took some fuzzy, distant pics or nobody will believe you!

The problem will be time and stress, the deer is relatively unlikely to be stressed if it was killed outright, but if it was injured and took time to die the meat will be tainted. Likewise if you don't bleed them out quickly you get a similar result. It would take something special for me to stop and collect a road kill deer!

A little unusual injuries. Any big cats on the loose in the area!?

From what I recall of a documentary I saw on the subject a year or two back the vast majority are NOT pure anymore!
