Dealer or Engineering works and a heafty bill, probably around £100+ for everything to want!

I think you would be better to ask GMK to explain.... Apparently Sako cannot deal with demand and most everything goes straight to America, we are poor relations, the T3 Hunter with chrome barrel has been in production nearly a year now, and I was quoted about a year delivery for that 2 or 3 months ago.....Talk to GMK and ask time scales!!! I was also quoted 3-6 months for delivery of a new synthetic quad HMR about 5 months ago at the Game Fair on GMK stand by the SAKO rep, GMK had NONE at that time, anything normal is a problem for them, anything slightly out of the ordinary takes a l

Email the importers and UK distributor for price and availability.... ...........probably take about a year to get hold of what you want....I jest NOT!!!!! http://www.gmk.co.uk/

My lad has one on his Gamo, it will almost certainly shift your point of impact compared to holding the gun and initially will probably have you shooting all over the place. Most people give up at this point and say how useless they are. Persevere, hold the gun consistently on the bipod and groups will improve...I suspect you will decide they are an advantage eventually!!

Once you try a PCP there will be no stopping you...do whatever you need to lay your hands on one..it's another world you could not believe if you are a springer owner! Have a look here....... Guntrader.co.uk Guns for sale section!!

All the stupid ones round my way are dead!!! When I turn up they all leg it big time, that's why they have survived this long and why I favour the 12g in Semi Auto...at least I can get one or 2 more as they dissapear!! Also remember you can always try decoying and /or baiting even for the air rifle
-
Bipods on any air rifles but PCP become a very debateable area, but my lad has one on his Gamo springer and has no problems!!
-
Stroll round the edge of the woodlands or hedgerows with a 12g early morning or late afternoon!! ...or......wait for them to come back and roost in known areas with 12g or air rifle...don't be tempted to let go that .22LR up into the trees!! Cover ALL skin and move gently whatever, those pigeon are easily spooked!!!

...and my eyes are not what they were...but those Muntjac in the picture do seem to have very short legs!!

what range do i zero my scope
Deker replied to tezthesweep's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Good help and advice I would suggest all round from SS. Mine is zeroed for 100 yards which suits me, the gun, the ammo and my requirements. But nobody can tell you what distance to zero at, set your zero for your requirements, and yours and the guns ability!! The 17g HMR ammo from all the manufacturers does fly very similarly, 20g is different of course and I find it more erratic than the 17g. But any change of ammo needs the zero checking, even a batch change of the same ammo is worth a quick sighter to check!! -
Good spring and good maintenance pays....my BSA Airsporter goes back to 1972 (and is totally original)......eeeerrrrrrrrr....36 years back, to be fair it's done around 12,000 pellets as best as I can work out, it is on the original spring and all the original seals and still developing 11.2ft lb, which most find incredible...my local RFD says he only knows of one better.....HIS!!!! Will be interesting to hear your views on the gas ram in due course!!

How can it be a gimik, when without the illuminated cross hairs I see no cross hairs when lamping? webber Lots of different reticles and perhaps some too fine to see well at night ...or lamp not bright enough....I'm just curious as I have no problem seeing my non illuminated reticle under the lamp. Think I have bought 5 scopes since the illuminated one and no need or desire to buy another that lights up!! No night problems with JSR, Hawke, AGS, Nikko Sterling, Simmons, Leupold all without the illumination.....but then again my lamp is ok...that's why I need a 9ah Battery

Used to regulary shoot with a guy who used a 12ft lb Rapid 7, see the quarry..put him on point, and I swear he was trying to get close enough to club the thing to death, I would keep willing him to shoot, and all he ever did was try and get closer and closer until the quarry would scarper before he got the shot off. "**** **** what are you doing...why didn't you shoot him??"...all I ever got back was..."I was practicing my fieldcraft"!!!
-
I have loads of scopes but only one that lights up, to be honest I have not yet found a situation where it has been the lifesaver it is meant to be, actually I don't use it at all, after playing with the settings, levels and colours to see what it does I have NEVER been in a situation I needed it!!! So, what is your verdict...gimmick or essential??

What power are you using..the Bisley Magnums are excellent for "much" FAC work!

Never ceases to amaze me where they keep coming from, LOADS of fox have been taken from this land this year and still they come. The advantage of shooting in pairs....usually go out with different tools to deal with different circumstances, commonly a mix of rimfire and centrefire or sometimes the shotgun, seems to make sense to cover as many eventualities as possible when out, not a lot of point on the whole in both carrying a .243 or more unless we are specifically after the deer, and I may take the .223 anyway in these circumstances for the Muntjac or bunny etc...!!
-
Gas ram is NOT "that good", or springers would be dead!!! .....and the other bit....well, distance is always debateable and most have a strange view of it...ask any women...what most blokes recon is 8inches is usually 4 when the women check!!! Shooting long distances on a range with sighters and known repeatable circumstances is "possible", but this is not field work and bunnies!!! If you want/need 50-60 yards go FAC!!!

Big John, that is a lead shot cart so we shall assume you are talking about non-wetland goose shooting in Scotland? The 3.5" shell is not of any benefit for lead carts in 12g or lower calibres. It is when lighter loads like steel are used in 12 and 10g that it can be very useful. The benefit of the 3.5" shell is that they provide a wider variety of steel shot loads and shot sizes than with the 3". Only Gamebore make the 3.5" shell in the UK and they load in UK BB's and smaller. By using the 3.5" they produce you get a higher pellet counts which is very important on flighting geese (

medium range fox and Rabbit calibre???? so many to choose!
Deker replied to Sterry's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Yep, it probably will....and .223, 55g HP Wolf Factory costs 18p each, and 62g FMJ Barnaul Factory costs 14p each....so both these factory loads are cheaper than HMR or WMR....and a LOT cheaper than Hornet!! But with time and experience you should get a better load doing it yourself (apparently)!! -
Hollow Point every time...and they all have plenty of "punch"...problem is High Velocity .22LR are NOT accurate!!!
-
... probably about 30 yards...depends on the weather, the pellet, the mechanical efficiency of the gun and the experience and proficiency of the shooter!! ...plenty will say further...
-
Yep...I have 2 Bipods and 7 rifles....not the best commercial decision to buy one for each!!
-
I have an Open FAC with Every Deer and I am a Deer Mentor.....I got it through experience and practice....but if someone would pay 75-% of the fee I'd do a DSC anyway!!!
-
They are an excellent rifle but heavy..not my cup of tea at all and not on my shopping list...each to their own though!!! 50 yards is doable but you will always here tales like this...too far for most to consider!!!

help with try9ing to get open fac please
Deker replied to jamie g's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Generally down to experience and usage....and also making the life of the FLO easier. As has been said above as well...... put your best case together showing NEED, experience, safety!! ATB
