  1. .177 OR .22??? What is the sonic boom like????
  2. Is it "A" battery, or a battery "pack" ??.....always worth checking the battery "pack" connections if it is!
  3. If we make all the usual assumptions.....the mounts are OK and pointing in the right direction, everything is bolted down tight, the dovetail is OK...gun barrel is OK and pointing out front, etc, etc...then you start to run out of options and have to consider the scope. Wind the turrets all the way from end to end counting the clicks (not too hard at the end stops) and then leave in the middle! If this doesn't help then perhaps the scope is fubared!!
  4. You got me there, but NO Direct laws to stop you shooting lots of things that swim in the sea as far as I am aware!! But the FAC tends to list things like small GROUND game, etc, don't recall any section that talks about underwater life!!! Shotguns ...a whole different ball game..........................Air Rifles...I think NOT!! Perhaps I am about to learn something new!!
  5. Yep...the T8 was really the benchmark until a year or two back, and there is nothing wrong with it , but the response here for the Predator 8 does seem fairly overwhelming!!!
  6. Don't know but I might suggest it looks like one of Dave Mercers creations (DM-???)!!!!
  7. I obviously agree, there is a very warm feeling of confidence with one of these in your hand.....Looks like I'm doing ok...CCI 40g Maxi Mag HP £10 for 50 my way!!
  8. OK ..you have a 20 and want to try some other carts...fine and no problem (and EXPENSIVE) and obviously worth a go...but they will likely blow your shoulder off...truth is, if you want a bit more, best plan would be a 12g! Golde rule is a 20 is for light/medium carts, heavy hurts the pocket and shoulder!
  9. Know what you're saying woz, But found an "old boy" locally. Ex Rolls Royce engineer and he is/was an FRD. Recomended to me by my local gunstore/smithy. Based in Derby and charged me £30 to thread and recrown. Details provided to anyone interested At that sort of money and "quality" I am prepared to travel a long way, details would be appreciated! Many thanks!!
  10. Hi Deker, i agree with you i also think the .22WMR is far in front of the .17HMR because of all the reasons you have given, i used a .17 for about 18 months, found it very good on rabbits, but a bit dodgy for fox got rid and got myself a hornet K Havent used the WMR on live quarry but a guy uses one at the rifle range, very impressive hitting power and accuracy at 100 & 200 yards when zeroed, he uses it on rabbits regularly and has also taken the odd fox recons its a great little tool for mooching about Not sure what make it is, but it is self loading and great fun to use, PS --
  11. I have shot well over 1000 greys but I can't remember a single one lamping! Round my way they all go to bed when it gets dark and get up when it gets light
  12. Deker

    Newbie

Used on several of their guns including shotguns....spacers available as well to adjust pull length!!
  13. Normally yes, if you don't replace the wiring and connections. It's an easy thing to do though, you don't need to be a sparky or anything. I have four Lightforce lamps because of the quality of their beam. Can't say about Clulite, but if I was looking for a lamp I'd only be looking for LF. 4 .... that will be 1 to use and 3 for spares parts then........(sorry..couldn't resist that one )
  14. And Wales But not in Scotland ?? Yes chaps you are correct, Wales tends to mirror England...even though they have their own "Government"..but Scotland does often have a few differences (well... they could never agree on anything the English propose )!!
  15. No...that won't do it..most people will think you are 'avin a larf!!
  16. The FAC Must list quarry..but moving to the wider picture...it is perfectly legal to shoot a pheasant/duck/goose with a rifle even with a lead bullet, where much of this quarry must be shot with lead free shot if using a shotgun in England!!
  17. Well I did...and that's the way it is, but as you obviously don't accept what I say I'll let others explain it to you on your new thread!! ATB
  18. The S400/410 series comes in Walnut Thumb hole. Definitely Walnut. Unless custom, Air Arms does not offer a thumb hole in beech. The bit on the Grip is usually a darker colored wood like ebony, the same would also be seen on the fore-end of the stock, and mostly used to adorn premium walnut stocks. I would suggest you leave the stock as it is. Its lovely as it is. That's Beech And that's Walnut. Notice the darker wood on the grip and fore-end. That is the finest bit of beech I have seen on that top gun, and the knot swirl is a brilliant immitation of Walnut!
  19. Really light or heavy pellets may cause excessive piston bounce and extensive use will damage the seals and cause spring fatigue. It also causes detonation at times which will result in broken springs eventually. The same goes for loose/tight pellets. Noticing the recoil is a telltale sign for such issues. This is specific to springers and does not apply for PCPs, CO2 or Pump Action rifles/pistols. This mostly happens with extra light pellets in magnum rifles (when the fps bug bites) and extra heavy pellets in light powered rifles (when the ft/lb bug bites!) lol.. Really light or he
  20. I wish they stuck to them Deker! :notworthy: To be honest I agree with you...I'm old enough to remember when everything was Closed on a Sunday..if you were lucky you could find a newsagent open, just for the morning!!! Sunday is just another day of the week these days! Some of the old ways are not so bad!!! !!
  21. Don't quite understand the question....i have a clulite and the beam is fantastic ...sounds to me the clulite does everything you want..if it does why change...if it doesn't consider a Lightforce....but if you buy a lightforce..buy a good toolkit, soldering iron and insulating tape as well!!!!!
  22. Flippen 'ek ...100% CZ.. ....come on...somebody say Ruger to rock the boat
  23. I understand these ancient laws are designed to "protect" the workers...gamekeepers, beaters, etc so they can get at least "some" time off work. Nothing to do with game protection!!
