I understand these screw on the end of the barrel, not reflex type.....I may be wrong but I emailed JLS on these about 8 months ago asking for some more details and I'm still waiting for a reply!!

**** me....even old boys still get to learn, .204 is the only one I had heard of, where the **** do you get any of this ammo from...and dare I say...why would you want to???

True Mill dots..easy to use in the field and on the range and easy to shoot at different distance WITHOUT adjusting anything!!! My centrefires are all zeroed for 200 yards and I have them sorted to 500 yards with different ammo on the dots, without adjusting the turrets at all!! Every scope I have now is Mill Dot, including all 4 of my rimfires and air rifles...but each to their own!!

Deben will have the part you want, I have repaired my Mini several times over the years and Deben have always supplied ANY spare parts/leads I have needed. They actually assemble these at their works in the UK so have all the bits. If you can't see what you want on the website/catalogue give them a call and they will be able to help!!

Many fixed scopes are parallax set at 100 yards, some specific air rifle scopes parallaxed for 35 yards. In principle, as long as you get the right scope and your eyes are still good, then for air rifle ranges out to 35 yards I would suggest variable parallax is not generally required!

20tac....this seems to have passed me by...what is it? Cheers

Many farmers and landowners shoot on their own land..not a problem...go for it if you can!!

IF you are talking .20, then as far as I am aware the calibre is all but dead and I seem to recall it was a pistol round anyway! If that is the case you are likely to have a big problem with either factory rounds or reloading! Perhaps someone knows more than me or I have it wrong...but just WHY does this customer want a .20...and one that weighs a ton?????? .204 Ruger is gaining popularity as a .20 calibre varmint round, a colleague of mine uses one on prairie dogs in the USA, says its awsome. Chap ...thats a .204 that's why I picked up, asked the question and highli

From personal experience and knowing what many others use it is almost always 17g. The 20g does not group as well in any conditions as the 17g and not as much choice in 20g either!

Bank Job or blowing doors off hinges???? Shorter barrels useful for Skeet...but you would not shorten the barrel to 24" and then want a tight choke...like others I am intrigued!!

The Escort are cheap and cheerful, IF you get one that works then you will be lucky, the barrel blew up on mine, the replacement barrel didn't fit and then the next whole replacement gun was a disaster. Now returned and a full refund recieved. We all know things go wrong sometimes, but the Escort seems to have more than it's fair share of problems. And it's not just me, many other people contacted me about problems they have had including 2 whos barrels had blown up as well. Consider a better quality used gun if the budget is tight!!

Thinsulate camo gloves I got from the market for £5. Very good, lots of feel, pretty warm, machine washable...but on the whole I still only wear the one glove and keep the other hand in the pocket or on the trigger!!

If you only have your 15 yard garden to shoot on then why do you want to set at 35 yards??? If you have somewhere you want to shoot at 35 yards then zero there!!

Chap...wether it be regulated or not a PCP has its maximum power at the instant the air is released, not at the end of the barrel, the power drops the further the air travels down the barrel...just like a springer!! And whether the barrel be long or short on either, the power can be adjusted to 12ft lb regardless. There are plenty of short barrelled PCP's running at 12ft lb!! How does this explain light pellets being more powerful in springers and heavy pellets being more powerful in PCP!!

The joys of shooting...always something develops in the field ...but it's all part of the "fun" Sounds like a good session to me...ATB!!

A skinning knife for a bunny ...I have 3 or 4 now I think but a Stanley would do fine...sharp point and short blade....you just need a small cut and nick and then it's a matter of pulling it all off!!!

On the whole they make good stuff and a very good price, I have used several types in several calibres and have achieved very good results. Always down to your use and your barrel, definately worth a try, but keep the numbers low until you find wether it works in your gun!!

From your opening question the answer is the .22LR. With sub sonic ammo and a half decent moderator it will be very quiet...far quieter than you will ever make the HMR. The subs do drop quite a lot, but at the same time they are usually pretty accurate, so get used to the drop and you will be able to take bunnies to a good distance! The ammo choice is also much wider and about a 1/4-1/2 the price of the HMR!

Shotgun fit - what's similar to a Beretta?
Deker replied to Dan_Smiff's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Sure is..if you get it wrong you will have a big painful bruise on your cheek!! -
Where did the 1,000,000 come from? i been lookin and Ft/lbs = (fps X fps X mass (grains)) / 450240 i think this woul be more likely as it similar to the momentum in my understandin. This is where i found this Was given this by a gunsmith who worked for Holland & Holland, perhaps he is wrong eh? This is the formula which I posted earlier in this thread as well.... The formula to calculate ft lb is.... speed (feet per second) x speed x weight (g) of pellet, divided by 450240. ....no idea if the 1million thing works or produces the same answer...try the ma

Shotgun fit - what's similar to a Beretta?
Deker replied to Dan_Smiff's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
There are lots of rumours and suggestions as to gun fit but the fact is they are made to a normal standard fit for the country they come from, or the main market they are intended for. Miroku are Japanese but not designed to fit the average Japanese man! Beretta is Italian and you will find many Italian guns a similar fit... But you can get them all fitted if you have the folding!! -
Ok... you guys may have achieved these results, but chucking a pellet or two down a gun is not scientific and not represenatative..the difference in heavy light pellets could easily be achieved from bad seals or a marginally tighter pellet/barrel fit, poor barrel condition..etc etc..2 swallows do not a summer make! Like for like I see no reason for the results you suggest! There is simply no logic to it. I still await a scientific explaination for what you say or a controlled test, until then I remain unconvinced!

You goody goody you Write to your MP and campaign to get the law changed if you don't like it!
