This goes to show pretty much what I expected...there is considerable debate as to whether VERMIN means fox, and I for one do not want to be the person to test the meaning in court...fortunately I do not have to as my rimfires, from .22LR up are specifically conditioned for FOX. Madness apparently, as numerous regions will not even consider fox on the rimfire, another prime example of the inequality of the administration of the "Law" DEER, by the way, is a SPECIFIC condition...well, in my region anyway...If your FAC does not say Deer, (in some cases it may specify precise smaller s

Chap..we all had to start somewhere but the usual plan is a rifle club OR getting the appropriate rifle for a bit of pest control...NOT...... im wanting to buy a bullet gun for the first time and im wondering what the average price is for a genuenly good one. That doesn't help you or anyone else...perhaps best to check out some rifle clubs and have a read of the Home Office Firearms Law Guidance to the Police 2002 (on the web)..then perhaps a glance at.... http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/

Your FEO is unlikely to be impressed if your cabinet is easily visible through a window. No problem with mounting it flat on the floor but you will need to find joists to bolt it into...just the access problems under your bed everytime you use it! Any doubts talk you your FEO, he is the one you will need to keep happy!

.243 T3 what have you found best (factory ammo)
Deker replied to Smudge00's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance
Not tried that many as I found the PRVI 90g SP good enough for pretty much everything I want to do with mine..and a very good price. Sako 90g pretty good as well, but can't help much on the lighter stuff, the 58g I have only used in a RWS .243 and not my T3 but it worked well in that! -

This could be interesting...... .243 would be my choice...especially if you are going to reload...I suspect you will be able to develop a cracking .243 round for the job!

Cable and ground anchor are acceptable under the Law...simple fact is they are NOT popular with the police, I would suggest you discuss this with your FEO before you get too far down this route. A trawl round the web for a small (or even breakdown) cabinet will probably produce results and are a LOT more acceptable to the police!!

The Style/Silhouette has had a least 3 different (but similarish stocks) in the last 2 years. ALL are right handed with cheek piece, but useable left handed...but the bolt is still the wrong side! No left handed versions available as far as I am aware!

Out with Mr L this afternoon on some of my land that was always a banker for Deer but they seemed to disappear around September time last year but have been steadily coming back. Saw a few last week and some fox so thought we would have a go today...I had the .243 and Mr L took his .308...about an hour into the shoot at around 15.15, we came to a gate...now, I know the deer like the far corner of this field about 225 yards away so I had a look and despite the fact I thought I saw something move I couldn't see any. Over the gate and walking down the side of the field Mr L says there is

Each to their own but a 7.5 28g is a clay cartridge to me...I am much happier with a 5 or 6 (depends on the time of year) and 30-32...also a much better option in my book for rabbit as well, which I understand the gun may be used for!
-
...you're right...I remember that one now...if it is the same one then Mr L and Deker have both handled it, blimey ...with that providence I suspect you had to pay a premium....it was a .223 I recall...

Sport and Vermin Control debate again... I never stop with the fox, or the cubs..shoot them all year...

Absolute heap of s**t I suspect, but us T3 owners need to stick together so I'll give you £30 for it!!

Someone put me onto this lot about 10 years ago...I had a word and moved on..perhaps things are better now but.............

Two guns probably best BUT...a 12g Field gun shoud do the job fine. You will have a wide choice of some reasonable guns for under £500... http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/ Expect to pay 16p each upwards for 12g Felt Game cartridges (a lot more if you buy in small quantity)!! http://www.justcartridges.com/

If you have a FAC which has a spare slot for the appropriate calibre of air rifle you have then you can do whatever you like to take it into FAC territory. Your FAC MUST specifically have an appropriate spare slot! However, as already said, once you FAC it, it will stay FAC until the day it dies even if you take it back sub 12ft lb.

Sport (and your definition of it) OR Control..the answers are different BUT.. Now ´Pre Ban`, and having the option, i would much rather see a dog take a fox, deer, or hare; animals using wit against wit, testing each others speed and stamina to the max. I cant see any sport in lining a fox up in your sights from 1/4 mile away and dropping it where it stood. The poor blighter probably never even knew you were there, that in my opinion is trash. ...that seems pretty humane to me! but then again this topic will always stir the emotions and many have strong views

Just like you cannot rely on a Bore sighter to give you a 100% initial zero it cannot be relied on to check your existing zero is 100%. Most bore sighters struggle with different length barrels, moderators, muzzle breaks, ammunition, bipods, the way YOU hold the gun, etc etc, the ONLY way to adjust for this is live fire with the intended ammunition! I have looked at, played with, and used several over the years, my opinion is I can do well enough by eye and finish with live fire. I have no place for a bore sighter, but then again others may, just my view!!

Not many of those Laminated jobs around..looks the part...but then I'm biased...already have two T3's!!

Titanium sound moderators now in the UK
Deker replied to gqb's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Tell me I miss read something... .223 $895, this usually transfers to the same in £ in the UK...27-32dB reduction is available from numerous mods in the UK, but to be fair most are heavier! -
If you stick with the same hands and don't try and swap then is is very awkward and takes longer..if you try and swap hands then you have to learn to shoot again...I'm struggling with this...a 300 mile trip to look at a gun with the bolt the wrong side....it must be a very special gun or VERY cheap...a none starter in my book but you obviously have your reasons.. It's an almost £1000 rilfe for £565 and its a classy Air Ranger I'm not sure if i'm trying to convince you lot or myself really!? Each to there own and everyone will have their own view and opinion... You are trying
