Mr L had exactly the same in .223, I think I let go with it a couple of times but not sure, whatever, I know it shot well and reliably, a target tool for sure, not for lugging round the fieds!

my bag is already an oversized one its jus the overall lenght ov the gun its just too long I admit I have not read everyting here, so if it has already been said, then sorry... Your gun is NOT too long ..your slip is toooooo short!!..or just take the mod off!!!

Sorry guys, misinterpretation and confusion and definition, to set the record straight...a One for One is a swap of like for like, ie trade in your .223 for another .223, no problem, unopposed and no permission required from FEO/Police, just a paperwork change! Swapping your .223 for a .243 is a Free Variation, home visit likely and definitely permission required, this can be refused! Adding a calibre/moderator etc is a variation and chargeable. Now, that is what I understand, and what a certain idiot, dipstick of a FEO tells me! So..perhaps we have all learnt something, or per

1 & 2 you need (unless you are in a club) You don't need experience, you need a cool head, maturity, responsibility and NEED!

Wether this be myth or fact I have never had any time for this..what is the point..tune your rifle to the optimum (or buy it that way) and what is the point. S**t and muck up the barrel, time and effort and cost involved and for what??? Good marketing is all I can think of!! You have to stop at 12ft lb anyway, and even if you want to screw the law, there are more efficient ways of doing it than pellet lube!!

Difficult this, as most Mod Manufacturers ONLY state a sound reduction, most mods will give "approx" 25-32db Reduction....so you need to establish the original, unsuppressed Db. The propellant crack "can" be quite effectively moderated, but the sonic boom is a killer...even a good mod on a .308 still leaves a BIG crack! Whilst it is a good cop out for manufactures not stating a final Db you can understand the problems involved, with vast quantities of different ammo, barrel length, barrel widths etc etc!!

The whole point of a 410 (other than poaching) is a relatively light cartridge, quick, easy and comfortable, it was never designed to be a sledge hammer.....you can always try and turn a Go Kart into a Formula1, but not usually the best approach!!

How to store gun in cabinet in the loft?
Deker replied to snipper's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Try and remove any loft insulation from immediately below the cabinet so "some" heat escapes from living areas and keeps the temperature up a little, make sure gun is always clean and dry when you put it away, make sure it is lightly oiled, and lay on towel, T towel, whatever..no direct contact with metal, check on a regular basis, and silica gel can help. Temperature/humidity variation in loft spaces is dramatic but with a little extra care and consideration there is no problem keeping your guns there! Not at all happy with this lightbulb business, this will inevitably produce a "hot" -
Best PCP for HUNTING is 100% the Rapid 7 MKII Best PCP is probably the HW100, but I can't get on with it!!

Are you a collector, what are you after in a rifle, have you not found what you are after yet in any of these Hundreds of rifles you have owned over the years? EEeeeeeRRRRRRRR chap, it's a free world, have what you like, enjoy what you like, believe what you like, but I find it strange you will NEVER find a Springer in any decent Target competition these days, can't help thinking that makes a statement about which is most accurate!! No mate, im a Rifle Tart.. they use springers in HFT its called "Springer Class" it premotes the sport of airgunning to the young and old so i re

"Tune" a Springer as much as you like it is still a springer...a PCP is a different world...this will be interesting!

8 pages and a poll in FAQ on...Best Fox Cailbre!!

You will very rarely hear a bad word about the CZ rimfires but £400 may be a little rich depending exactly which AGS the rifle has on it!

Ive got the "style" in .22 but was having a play with my mates .17hmr and was very impressed. Im seriously thinking of asking for one put on my licence. We shot a few rabbits at around 90 yards and upon collecting the rabbit, their heads were like mush! Serious piece of equipment, and not as loud as i imagined. I have .22LR, .17HMR and .22WMR >>>>>> in the right weather conditions 100yard bunny headshots with the HMR is pretty straightforward!

Deker replied to Smudge00's topic in Reloading and Gun Maintenance

This clearly shows what a mess the different regions make of firearms legislation. Lets face it, how difficult would it be to clarify this and make a uniform ruling....such as ....FOX means fox so it must be stipulated, or, Fox is included in Vermin! The police can't decide ..but rest assured, if we take one step outside the guidelines (or the conditions on our FAC) it's goodbye FAC!!!
-
just ask for a "one for one" they wont be any charge, well my feo didnt charge... You can do a variation but they will charge. The free one for one is for when you swap like for like .222 for another.222 it depends what your firearms officer is like!! what you on about ? what would be the point of swapping a calibre for the same calibre ?? a one for one is to swap over two different calibres.. i recently done a one for one from a .38/357 to a .22 with no charge, that is classed as a one for one. F**k Me ..yet another balls up between police regions...a one for on

Phew..!!! Getting hot in here!!!
-
It's a very sad joke..the different interpretation of the law by different regions...just goes to show what legitimate, sensible, reasonable and responsible shooters are up against when the police can't even agree amongst themselves!
-
It is a FOX ...just like a deer is not large game..it is a DEER....that's why there is a specific FOX condition as well as Vermin!!! Consider, many regions will NOT allow fox on a rimfire, but are happy with vermin for a rimfire, therefore fox is not Vermin on this basis...but I am not trying to debate this point...I don't care...I have fox, so no concern to me!!! That's why a number of people have FOX specifically listed on their FAC for rimfire! No debate then!!

You spoke to the wrong Keyboard Experts if you were told NOT to apply for a .243!

I have the Silhouette 20" HMR, It does everything I could ask of it and I'm glad I got it instead of the Sako Quad Synthetic, which I actually had on order; then the CZ Silhouette HMR arrived in the country
-
Flippin 'ek you dragged this up from the past...... The primer is in the rim on a rimfire and I understand it is one time use! Perhaps someone with more reloading knowledge will clarify!!

.243 would be my choice...especially if you are going to reload...I suspect you will be able to develop a cracking .243 round for the job! Seems a lot tend to agree.... We all know there are plenty of other calibres to think about, but from what I understand a .204 for 400 yard foxes would not be many peoples first choice! We are all very well aware of what a .243 can do to a rabbit (well, some of us are anyway), but like I said....I suspect you will be able to develop a cracking .243 round for the job![/color]..if this is coming in around 40-45p then it becomes realistic to use i
