  1. I think so it was'nt in the shop last week and also the price is going up on it in the shops From 139.99 to 169.00 which i found very confusing when i was told.By the shop owner. OK, just looked them up, I'd be interested to hear what you think of it after you have played a while. It has True View optics which are not bad, I have a Varmint11 on one of my .22LR's with True View optics and all round find this perfectly capable for day and night work! That has a 44mm objective, hopefully the 50mm on yours should be better!
  2. Most would probably suggest a 50-60 yard zero with .22LR subs but the truth is you need to look at your land and make the best call for zero distance youself. The front ring is a parallax adjustment! PS Is this a new model, I didn't know they did an SR6 in the Nite-Eye?
  3. If I remember correctly there are 92 squirrels in the picture above, I took 171 off the site altogether! Yep, it's a lot of squirrels and this, and other pictures in the set have ended up going all round the world on the web and featured in several shooting magazines as well. Truth is it was a site with an exceptional squirrel problem, (pretty obvious) fact is I did it, but any good shooter could have done the same!! You can only shoot loads if there are loads on the site!
  4. Lots of choice as you are no doubt aware but the Weirauch is more than worth a second look!!
  5. You won't go far wrong with a Lightning!
  6. Use the most accurate pellet you can get in your gun. Almost certainly a domed pellet, you do not need the terminal effect of HP at 15 yards on a squirrel, accuracy, at a very small kill zone is best, and HP are not known for accuracy! As for the best way to hunt, as we have discussed ..there isn't a best way, all land and circumstances are different and so different approaches work better in different situations!! AA Field 5.51 Domed took this lot... did you eat all those tree rats?! Nope, shared them around..some went to the staff at the site I shot them on, my Game D
  7. What gun are you putting it on and what ammo do you propose using???

  9. aaronpigeonplucker I suspect this is what you had heard about!!!
  10. Nothing is fair in love, war, employment and life,...lets all go on strike and protest about other countries taking our jobs Don't get me wrong, I am all for the UK and British Citizen (lets not get into a debate what that is) FIRST, but we have this amazing knack of cutting our own throat and then blaming someone else!!
  11. Where I struggle is the fact that we are pretty much all in agreement..but when the Government discuss/debate these sort of issues they go all girlie...I thought Government was meant to reflect the electorate!!
  12. Only just come to this and not read everything but I think I have the idea. The answer is simple, try a cheap springer and then an expensive PCP and you will answer your own question...the rest has been said...!!!
  13. Deben do a range of battery bags...worth a look!
  14. just picked up a new lithium ion battery yesterday,{many thanks..northeastfieldsports for going out of your way to help} off out with it now, let you know how i get on, first impressions are good, carnt believe how light it is compared with standard battery. Hows it doing, what did you pay?? These are light but I here they have problems with the damp (not a clue personally) but the price is ... What's the verdict??
  15. So the Nikko Stirling Platinum Nighteater 30mm IR 4-16x50 Rifle Scope with Reticle Extended Mil Dot for £180.00 is not as good? As i was allways told either Nikko Stirling or Bushnell are 2 of the best???? Atb. Aproaching this from a slightly different angle why illuminated reticle. Personal choice I understand of course, but if you have a decent lamp and the reticle is not as fine as a fleas hair then illuminated not required and save a few quid...just another view!! Inexpensive scope..certainly some of the Hawke, Nikko and JSR worth considering...and plenty have illuminated ret
  16. Can't remember exactly, I moved about 4 years ago, I think you have 7 days to advise police of move, (check with the region) I advised police (letter) of the move and they simply rang and asked if the cabinet was in place and properly fixed...not even a visit.....just make sure you let everyone know who needs to ASAP!!
  17. accuracy is very suspect aswell Fair do guys and historically I agree, and I still make no suggestion these are the greatest, but are your experiences recent, these have improved a lot, and yes, you get the odd one that goes sonic and I recall one misfire, but that is in thousands and most other makes are known to do this as well from time to time. I have had plenty of Eley .22LR misfire down the club, but that too is in thousands of rounds! Just a suggestion to anyone into hunting, simply try a box of 40g HP subs and see what you think, they hit hard and peel back a treat!!
  18. Chap...I have to say the .204 is a pretty specialised round...have you really decided this is what you need??? Although it has been around a few years now it really is little used and they are not leaping off the shelves!! Obviously, as with any calibre, they have their uses, but can I simply start by asking what for, and why have you decided on a .204??
  19. Looks to have a lot going for it from a shooting viewpoint!!
  20. :victory: :icon_eek: Timelord...my comparison post [Forum: Reloading, Optics, Ammunition & Accessories · Post Preview: #863304 · Replies: 12 · Views: 314] seriously have a look at this Tescos torch...it really blows the Stinger away....white light and distance, perhaps not quite up to the build quality of the stinger...but good enough for use when hunting. i may even buy a second one to be kept in a drawer incase something untoward happens to my main one-they are that good. p.s. the distances i have put on were very conservative!!! I've been using better l

  22. Yep....had some, also have a photo, but it's a print off film, not digital, so if I ever work out a way to get it posted I'll put it up!
  23. Bit strange this as Winchester was always a bit of a "hunting" favourite in the 10-22, but if they have changed a bit then perhaps that has caused a problem! Eley has made good .22LR ammo for as long as I can remember (must be about 40 years back I let go my first Eley), but still more recognised as target ammo, anyway, if you want a good, sensibly priced hunting .22LR then try Magtech 40g HP Subs!!! Whilst other ammo may have gone down hill, this has certainly improved over the last few years, no suggestion it is as accurate as Eley but a massive HP, hits hard and plenty accurate enough
  24. Well To make sure I just emailed to the firearms office. Will revert back once get reply from them. cheers No legal requirement to lock up shotgun cartridges, just need to keep them "safe", a cabinet is a good idea if you have the space, but your FEO may have his own ideas/suggestions and it's him you need to keep happy!!! Whatever, if you need a cabinet have a look here and if there is anything you like PM me and I'll let you know best price I can do!! http://www.djsproducts.com/ Cheers Deker
