    MFR FAC

Hi Irish Readers, I'm selling my MFR FAC .22 along with theoben scope rings, two mags and a 3l 300bar buddy bottle. It's in perfect condition and can be seen in Cork Angling and Outdoor Centre, KINSALE ROAD BUSINESS PARK, KINSALE ROAD ROUNDABOUT, CORK. Tel: (021) 432 1000 Looking for €1200 for the lot. (For UK readers who think that is steep the gun alone is 1400 new...) Thanks for reading, Late
  3. Thanks for the feedback. The Winchester I had was a .243 too. I used winchester 95 gr silver tips against the fallow without any complaints. I was holding out for a Howa but delivery seems impossible or at least delayed indefinitely. Then I was offered a new CZ at a very reasonable price (ie much cheaper). I should have said earlier that I am over in Ireland and .243 makes me legal for all the deer on offer. Though around me it's pretty much fallow and nothing else. Thanks again, Late
  4. Have got an impossible to refuse price on a new cz 550 lux in .243. It replaces a secondhand winchester m70 I am trading up from. Question is though, is going up sideays or backwards. Any input appreciated, I am particularly interested in anyones experience in using the gun against deer and what bullets/weights have worked well. I have heard the rate of twist suits 95gr at the heaviest... Thanks in advance Late
  5. It'll be the last one left unmarked. Last night was a wet and wild one for wandering around an open field. Are BTs boat tails? Are these more prone to over penetration even in 220?
  6. Hi All, was out with a couple of pals out the foxes last night. We met a couple only and got one shot. We were in a big stubble field just out of the wind and the fox came into about 150 yards, sat down and looked straight on at the gun. The shot was good and the foxy fella was bowled over backwards. The guy on the scope confirmed, the guy on the lamp confirmed and I watched it with binos. We moved on a to the next section with the intent to pick up when we came back on the loop. But on return no fox. All the cameras were out and nothing to show for it. The bullet was a remington so
  7. Hi All, Just joined last night. A lot of good reading done already. I'm from Ireland and mostly I shoot pigeons and anything else in season. Do a bit of airgunning with a FAc MFR very enjoyable where rabbits are thick on the ground. Do a bit of fox control. About to get into deer shooting. It won't be long til I start asking advice on that in the forums! All the best, Late
