  1. jackson rifles will offer a 40% trade in against a new T8 but you should think about a wildcat P8 mate, fully strippable/cleanable and you can oil them so dont rot like the Reflex and even if for some reason the baffling did go in time you can just by replacement baffling. no "ting" when you fire and calibre specific too. atb alan. Any ideas as to cost of the p8 mate Everyone will favour one mod or another for their own reasons. Cost of a P8 and a T8 are very similar. The P8 has a LOT more baffle sizes to chose from so keeps the hole smaller and may therefore "JUST" h
  2. As the first post said, FORGET the quad as a multi barrel gun, thats a waste of time for most people! If you want to spend money there is nothing technically to chose between them, so just get what you fancy, there is no other way to put it. Otherwise just get a CZ and save some money!
  3. right sorry for not replying guys but i was away for a few weeks , ok i soked the barrel with copper remover and gave it a dam good cleaning mf fn arm was sor sfter it lol. got my hands on sum horanady 60 grain and 55 and 50 , and guess what at 100 yards 20 mm at 200 with 60 grain 1 inch so now i am a happy bunny lol it was a combination of loose bolt on swivel bipod and dirty barrel and cheap ammo will never put that millatry scrap through my barrel again have five fuking boxes of it lying in the safe and they will never see the inside of my barrel ,, they wer the cause of most of my pr
  4. Here's another one which will cause some debate, ALL my guns get stored in the cabinet in their Slips. They are all clean and DRY and reached ambient temperature first. That way there is next to no chance of and cabinet marks on the guns and I just grab what I want and go. Works for me, I suspect others may have a different view. PS. They ALL keep the moderators on as well but the centrefires are stored muzzle down and the rimfires muzzle up, (top to tail), that also makes them fit better!
  5. There is actually an element of truth in that, simple fact is its diminishing returns. Unless you are on the range then "MOST" people will only use a handful of shots through the centrefire in the field. All my centrefires have a P8 fitted, and each (firing) trip out, everything gets cleaned. History and experience has shown me (to my surprise in the early days) that REGULAR THOROUGH cleaning of rifle and mod does NOT shift the zero. Zero IS checked rugularly just the same. Remember, damage to barrel, mod and action can also be caused whilst a dirty gun is being stored. This
  6. Hi Jack, this is a little bit like putting the cart before the horse but I'll give it ago. The firearms officer is there to verify your application, your integrity, to some degree your knowledge and to a greater degree your need to own a firearm. At this stage of your application there shouldn't be any " I think... ", you either need a .22rf [because] or a .17 HMR [because] or both [because], simple as that. Magazines do not need certification in the UK; Sound moderators do, if used on a firearm and are governed by the same certification as the firearm for which the moderator will be us
  7. In truth I agree....Clean clean clean or simply don't! If you half heartedly clean now and again, you will simply raise fouling and probably make things worse than when you started, so either CLEAN it or don't...... I'm still of the clean brigade, even though it is a pain, just my early target upbringing! Be Careful with the crud in the mod whatever!
  8. My .223 T3 Lite Stainless is 1-8. I got it new about 5 years back and the barrel is now 19" and has a P8 Compact fitted. It fires EVERYTHING from 40-75g. It favours the mid area, 55-62 which are just easy, but I genuinely get first rate results with the other weights listed. Think of the barrel and its condition as much, if not more, than the ammo! If mine can do it why can't yours?
  9. It isn't really going to help much whatever anyone else uses, even with an identical rifle, you are just going to have to try a few. Many use lots of different rounds, the 58g V-Max is awsome on fox...IF your barrel can handle it. I use 90g SP PRVI almost exclusively in my T3 Hunter .243, that does for fox and ALL deer in England. If, for any reason, I want more then I use my .308, the .243 is not usually that happy with a wide range of ammo, and some are not happy with 100g!
  10. You can still buy a NEW Magtech 7022 for £145.... Yes..I know! but it's actually pretty reliable and does shoot most ammo, hitting anything smaller than a barn door with that trigger is the problem!
  11. CLEAN! I am heartened by the clean response, my rifles work and keep working because I look after them.
  12. 60 yards .22lr Magtech 40g Subs 100 yard .17HMR Hornady 17g I think the question is a bit wider than achievable groups! Also a daft 3 shot group from the same session at 60 yards with the .22lr Magtech subs, this is unusual, they don't often get that good, but these things happen sometimes.
  13. They both tend to shoot ok but is it aesthetics or what, that requires you have a thumbhole? Buy a rifle to shoot, not to look pretty and get the CZ whatever! Mossberg doesn't do it at all for me! We all have ideas, we all learn and sometimes we get a surprise, be honest with yourself and don't fall into the trap everyone seems to, the whole world owns the best rifle possible...BULL, people just can't bring themselves to admit they cocked up! Do you want a heavy rifle..WHY? Take a look at this lot, for general field work just go and buy a Silhouette or American (if you want
  14. A .22lr is probably the ideal sub sonic rabbit tool, if you want supersonic get the HMR. This question comes round a lot, and many regions will not consider rimfire for fox, that is your first hurdle. I have all my rimfires and centrefires fox conditioned, and they ALL get used for fox as the situation dictates. Frankly, in the great scheme of things you need 2 rifles (at least) to cover the bases, anything will deal with a rabbit but a .22WMR or Hornet, or other low end .22 centrefire will probably come out favorite for the fox. I do this professionally and have a good selecti
  15. Chap..why do you ask the original question then if you are so experienced with FAC Air Rifles? Don't play games, your knowledge is sorely lacking and your tape measure is unique. You are new to this site and a clever attitude will get you nowhere, nobody knows it all, including me, there are not many days that go by I don't learn something new. If you want to play silly games go back to the playground, if you want information stop telling the world you are the best shot in the universe and learn from those who have been there and done it!
  16. I have to agree with most replies so far, trying to float most 700 "Plastic" stocks is simply a waste of time. Mine is fine as supplied on my .308 700SPS Stainless and gets me 1" even with PRVI, but if I wanted better I would most certainly have to throw it away and consider another stock.
  17. Try reading my post again, it was an either or, so you need to put yourself up for the Olympics. Your previous post shows considerable innexperience. And what did the nice policeman say when you told him you wanted a 16ft lb Air rifle so you could shoot bunnies every week at Plus yards?
  18. Just step into my office a minute, we need to have a chat....... Most people have their .22lr zeroed at 50-60 yards, it isn't a matter of what is POSSIBLE, it is a matter of consistent clean kills. If you suggest you are taking rabbits at yards plus regularly with 16ft lb, then you are either lying or you need to consider the Olympics. My .22 FAC Air runs at 26ft lb, in the early days I zeroed it to 50 yards, it would consistently put 10p size groups in a target at that distance but the arc was not sensible, it soon became evident that 40 yards was a much better field distance. A
  19. Heres a few, for bunny bashing you don't need a 2 ton lump, Silhouette is their best seller I understand! http://www.czub.cz/en/catalog/80-rimfire-rifles-cz/
  20. Help me understand this, it's a HMR, so anything that works out to 150 yards will be fine. What is all this BULL I keep hearing about needing quality glass for night work, you simply need a half decent lamping kit! what can i say you must know better than every body else...all i can say to you is when i started shooting nearly 40 years ago now...and yes i have not managed to gain any experience apart from one thing i found...i found that with a 100 quid scope i could see loads during the day...when it came to going out when the big light in the sky went down i found even with
  21. Hi, Go for the HW60J by far the better of the two !! I have the hw60j for sometime now and over 6500 rounds and NO problems to date. is the best rim i have used, and i used alot for rimfire's. No problems getting parts BUT YOU WILL NOT NEED ANY !! Good luck in what you go for ... I'm curious about that statement, as with others saying this is better or that is better. On just what basis is any gun better than another, your Anschutz, HW, Sako will NOT be any more accurate in the field than a CZ, and I don't see it lasting any longer, there are loads of old BRNO about
  22. Put the shot in the right place and it is fine to eat still with a .223. If you are the vermin control business at distance this can happen, a couple of years back now and about 180 yards I seem to recall, .223 Ballistic tip V Bunny!
  23. What does difference in quality equate to in the field? Many people keep their CZ a lifetime!
  24. Brand new, factory sealed, surplus to requirement and unused... ( ) .22WMR ammo...Total of 500 rounds, £100 all in, what a deal. PM if interested. Cheers
