  1. Flippen 'ek I have been preaching the cleaning route forever, and so many have knocked the idea, it works, it keeps the rifle true and sweet and it DOESN'T wear out the barrel if you do it properly, brush, solvents and patches, and keep the crown clean too! Accurate from the first shot if you do it right!
  2. Some take the sleeving off anyway. Not by favourite plan as most of the plastic coated rods are steel. Devey rods tend to be painted. Rods are sometimes brass coated, or wood of course, etc! Heat shrink sounds a fair idea just the same!
  3. Is this still available, what reticle and where are you? Cheers Edit Tube size?
  4. Is it still available? What Reticle is i?. Why are you selling? Cheers
  5. This is about the best I have done at 100 yards, but I would certainly expect within 1" anytime! Edit Yeh, it's 4 shots, I seem to remember I bottled out of the 5th when I saw the group!
  6. It happens as Martin said, sometimes they just don't care, probably many different reasons why, one of course is that they can get very used to normal traffic headlights!
  7. Help out an old boy please, what have I missed, how do I get automatic notification of replies to topics? Thanks
  8. Ok, I'm after one of these, preferably the 30mm tube, 50mm Objective, Target Turrets, Sidewheel Parallax. MUST be MilDot. What have you got close in spec and what money do you want. Cheers Deker
  9. There are NO hard and fast rules, but think on, wildlife are like us, on the whole, if they can avoid going out in the cold and wet they do! They don't have hot baths, washing machines and tumble dryers when they get home! Watch the football and have a can. I should be in Hereford after the Boar tonight, but a local weather farecast has put things back to Monday (I hope)!
  10. Any individual can say what they like, and the law of averages suggest some work and some people are happy. The law of averages is NOT a way to base a buying decision on something as important as a Shotgun. Hatsan have the worst reliability and safety record of ANY shotgun currently available! Don't believe a word word I say, look at the history here, or any website you care to look at and compare Hatsan problems with ANY other shotgun! The Barrel let go on the one I bought for my lad with me standing next to it, there are those that suggest I have an axe to grind with Hatsan,
  11. Try Sage (Dennis), there ain't nothing they can't fix, really..... tell him Deker sent you! http://www.ukgunrepairs.co.uk/
  12. Flippen 'ek, what is going on here, I can't leave you alone for 5 minutes without it going off can I, behave yourselves and get real! ATB!
  13. They don't shoot straight and dont stop things in my CZ, I still have about half the box I got from the Beretta Gallery (the only place that had them) when they first came out. Sure, they break up, possibly too easily, I took one apart and the head simply fell to pieces with very little pressure.
  14. Yes, I've got the 3-12 and the 4-16, they are ok! ..........................."I am not sure what rifle to mount it on ie .22rim, hornet, or my .223?" I'm a bit lost with your question, why did you buy it if you didn't have an intended use? As a rule use your best/longest range scope on the .223 and your worst scope on the .22rimfire!
  15. Its a good versatile calibre, lots of ammo choice, easy to shoot and very capable on all your listed quarry. Always a decent used market for .223 as well if you want something for ALL deer (.243) at a later stage!
  16. That is a lot of foxes, numbers like that only occur when the land has not been properly managed, keep it up and it will be much quieter next year!
  17. I am not a trophy hunter and generally don't get many like this boy anyway. As a matter of interest does anyone know about BASC/BDS/etc measuring service, what sort of money are we talking and do you think this may make it at all. Cheers
  18. Anyone who considers the HMR an everyday 200 yard, let alone 300 yard tool, needs their Care in the Community Day Release canceling!
  19. picked up CZ 452 Varmint up tuesday ,zeroed 1"high at 100yrd and it was point and shoot from 30 to 125 yrd. i'm well impressed, and like everybody says trigger slightly heavy so putting mine right with a trigger kit,and no there not illegal. You wont be dissapointed. atb,pip So, at what distance is your HMR zeroed?
  20. This subject goes round and round. The Anschutz are excellent and well made, the fact is the CZ Range of Rimfires is unsurpassed for accuracy, reliability and price. People will buy whatever they want for their own reasons, but you will NEVER find you need anything more than a CZ Rimfire in the field, personally I hate the Heavy barrels, CZ are field tools, no need for heavy barrels, but some like them, simple as! Here's a few of mine.....
