  1. So...try all your mates and see if it makes a difference!
  2. I may not have made myself very clear, I would NOT buy a T3 Lite in the .223 (smaller calibres). It doesn't seem to bad in the bigger calibres, it's all to do with the size of the hole down the barrel and the quantity of metal left, and of course the hollow rear stock, in simple terms the balance is s**t on the smaller calibres.
  3. .223 T3 Lite Stainless .243 T3 Hunter .308 Remington 700 SPS If I had my time again I would not buy the T3 Lite in .223, it would without doubt be the Hunter or a Remington. We all have a view, that is mine, born out of my experience!
  4. I heard Elvis is alive and driving a bus on the moon! ATB!
  5. Just goes to show the worth of CZ/BRNO rimfires, they really are cracking tools for the money!
  6. You zero at a distance that most suits your land/quarry/ability! With a .223 this would usually be between 100-200 yards for field work! Physically check other distances by shooting after zeroing!
  7. We all have a view but anyone who has any experience knows that is daft, the .22lr is the biggest selling calibre in the world. Any calibre can ricochet and you need to be careful with EVERY shot of every calibre, saying you want a HMR because it does not ricochet as much as .22lr is NOT a valid reason unless you can demonstrate unsafe ground. In simple terms, if you say you want HMR over .22lr to the FEO because it is safer, he will think you are an idiot who reads too many forums! ATB!
  8. That's a serious bag for one night!
  9. Baldie Don't want to start this all going again...Oh..and the letter is pretty good by the way, but did anyone ever get to the bottom of this shooting at night business? I've been shooting day and night for 35 or more years and don't know anything about night shooting written permissions! For many, although not all, I do have written permissions, but please don't tell me I've been breaking some night shooting law most of my life. Deker We're all probably guilty of breaking the law - how many of us don't have "Game" specified on our FAC's yet shoot Rabbits at night? The classific
  10. It's not like me to say CALM DOWN, I'm usually in the thick of debates like this but I rather think this has run it's course, and frankly it's getting boring! ATB!!
  11. You have to remember they are public servants who are used to working at their own pace in an unpressured and non commercial environment. What makes you think they are in any hurry to do you a favour when they may be out of a job soon or get their pensions reduced to the level of the hard working ordinary man! Perhaps a nice low key phone call to ask if their is anything more you can do to assist them in their arduous task!
  12. They don't appear to have improved since they were first debated some months back!
  13. ye first fox with the 12g mate. the reason i gt assy with certain people was because the way the commentd on the post makin out like i was dangerous n stupid with a gun. if the comments tht wer made wernt making out tht i was an unsafe shot then i wudnt off gt assy. i cn accept critism as shud every1 Any chance you could try the spell checker, I was enjoying the dabate but I've got a bit lost now!
  14. Too true! Wouldnt have gone for the shot myself with a small load like that. Main thing is, is he did 'drop it'. Congrats with the fox, but probably wiser in future to have a bigger load in one of the barrels for an oppurtunist shot like that. Individuals cartridge selection for field work is just that, individual! Personally I have no use for a 28g 7.5 in the field, others do like them, whatever works for you, 30g or 32g 5 is my favoured size for General field work, many will probably argue with that. Whatever, I would favour and even heavier cart for a fox so I would ra
  15. You could use the same mod for both but you would need a .25 baffle stack, this would help with the .17 but you would be better with a .17 baffle stack for the .17. Probably need a different bush as well. This will give you an idea! http://www.wildcatrifles.co.uk/price-list.html PS..unless you want to make things really complicated stick to the same thread on each gun as well........maybe best with 2 separate mods to be honest!
  16. The P8 is about as strip-able as any mod you will ever find. If you clean it regularly then it is fine, if you leave it you will find the parts become"welded" together and any thoughts of cleaning it will be gone!
  17. That's impressive, we all know that Jackson Rifles STILL made money on the deal, but thats a better deal than I know of from anyone else, so hats off to Jackson Rifles!
  18. They are good and well made but I chucked mine in because of balance on my T3 Lite. They hang off the end of the barrel and made a joke of the balance. I use a P8 COMPACT now which is better balance. Sound reduction wise I struggle to notice the difference, but the S5 was a more dull thud, and the P8 more of a tinny thud, not the best explanation . Good mods the S5, but the P8 Compact suits me better...and it's cheaper!
  19. Lampeter Shooting Supplies? Mid Wales Shooting Centre? Also, nearer to Keen's is South West Country Sports in Kenfig Hill. No gun shops in Swansea though, been waiting for one for years Lampeter! Never been there but saw one of their ads in a magazine a few months back and some of their rifles were very competatively priced!
  20. Guntrader is always worth a look but so to is the internet generally! There was also a dealer mid/west Wales that offers good deals......yes I know, too far and I can't remember the name either, it will come back to me just after it's too late!
  21. Ha Ha...such is life, if we agree so be it, nothing personal here anyway, was there an issue? ATB!!
  22. You could try a dimmer mate but lamp shy is lamp shy All my lamps employ a dimmer, there is a lot of difference between a 100w Full on light and one that barely glows! I think you will find bunnies will react differently.
  23. Clean the threads/outside with an appropriate cleaner/oil. As for the internals of a PES, then probably a word with the manufacturer or importer for any tips!
