  1. Not silly at all, because that came to my mind as well , cats will often eat a head and can often be lacking in the brains dept! This whole thing is very un fox like, the polecat family may well have something to do with this , but various things here say the fox doesn't! This doesn't look like any bird work either. First choice would be Polecat Family then cats!
  2. anyone with an "open" firearms ticket, could shoot in the garden as you aunt suggests, lots of things need to be checked first though, and prices are normally pretty high per fox, although there is one fellow on here that makes his living from dispatching london foxes, youd mostly be looking at becoming a pest controller, to do that kind of job, money can be shite until your quailified, and your normal work is more likely to be baiting with poisons, for rats, mice, etc, wasps nests and cockroaches all of my foxing and rabbit shooting get done in my spare time, rather than as paid jobs (apart f
  3. First observation is KEEP BOTH, and get something else in between as well, but lets assume there is a good reason why two will have to go and be replaced by one. Do you reload? If so pretty much whatever you want! If not get a .243, and quite probably get a .243 anyway!!
  4. Well, I can't seem to find his number myself now, if anyone does turn up with it can you let me know as well please! Cheers
  5. david.mercer80@ntlworld.com This should help, I have his number somewhere but someone will probably get it up before I find it!
  6. You said... why take it to be assessed, I didn't! But just why should being curius about it turn me into a trophy hunter? I KNEW it was a decent head and my shooting buddy that day was very excited, he took it to the show for marking, actually he prepared it as well, I've not seen it since the day it was shot!! Kindly go and crawl back in your hole and let the adults get on with things, Mr L has NOTHING to do with this in any way shape or form! Spelling as good as reading ! Classic. If you must know my O on my keyboard is a problem, happy now, I bet you feel really plea

  8. Grow up! And if YOU could read you will see I have NOT taken it to be assessed, off again jumping to conclusions, **** me, you are such a waste of time! Go away bore someone else!
  9. Do you have to be a **** all your life, I made it clear back in August I'm not a trophy hunter and I've not been through this process before!
  10. hey up Deker i,ve got that kit but no dimmer, any clues on where to purchase one,had a look online but not much out there, think theres one on the old bay shop but thats about all, cheers pipcock I bought the PRO kit upfront (that includes the dimmer), if all else fails Deben sell the Dimmer as a spare!
  11. I'm lost, never done this before and waiting the full report from my man who took it to the show, but it was CIC who did it there! Whats the 90 day business about? Cheers
  12. My understanding is It has been properly assessesed/measured/weighed/whatever, I will get the full details in the next few hours or day or so, the service was being offered at the Midland, thats why it was taken there!
  13. You may remember this from a few weeks back, in the field and after prep. I've just had a call from my man at the Midland who has just received confirmation it made GOLD! As I said before, I'm not a trophy hunter, this is work, and every now and again something like this turns up, but I don't deny I'm still quite chuffed!
  14. As there have only been three of us reply, one being yourself then you must be referring to either Jonno or me. No wondering on our part, the OP asked "Are Magtech semi-auto's any good? or should I get an older 'quality' rifle?" and the rifles are not any good, plain and simple. The OP has no interest if YOU have plenty of guns or not. John Ha ha, it had to be you didn't it, fair comment, somehow I missed this bit..... or should I get an older 'quality' rifle?... that does somewhat change the complexion of the question/my responses!
  15. I think some of you guys are wondering a bit, I have plenty of guns including a .22lr which does all I want accuracy wise, the Magtech 7022 is a trip into the semi world for me and will be a field and fun tool. At £140 BRAND NEW, just how much are you likely to lose, and very worth while using it with the supplied open sights, it's also threaded, so, if you must, just screw on a SAK. Cheap as chips, and they are reliable according to one club I know who uses them! Trigger is s***, I have played with them, and there is little or nothing you can do with it, but it works! Semis are not des
  16. Some just see it as shooting and vermin control, they just leave them were they drop...Its a waste to me. Only had 1 with mixy from the full lot. thought it might of hit them harder. Ha Ha, some do, and visit their sites more often and keep them under control, I don't have anywhere I can take that many in a night because the land is managed properly! :D :whistling: ATB! Where is the Smiley with the Tin Hat this is a dairy farm on a massive sporting estate thats heavily keepered, they don't have time for rabbiting most of the time and the access

  18. The magazine should fit, not sure what tinkering he did but the WMR and HMR mags are identical for the 452, so they should be easy to find!
  19. Well...yes and no.... I don't have a semi but my FAC is up for renewal and I am taking the opportunity to add a couple of slots. I have looked at the Magtech over a long period and keep going back to it, the trigger is absolute s***, but the gun is accurate, seems to like most ammo, comes threaded and is cheap as chips as they say... worth a go, I think so!
  20. What is possibly more important than any damage a Bore Snake can cause if not used appropriately, it doesn't clean your barrel efficiently!
  21. Whatever, get a Dimmer, and for HMR use I would suggest the Deben Max Pro, it will provide a complete package at a cheaper price than the Lightforce and provide shooting light out to around 400 yards, far more than you will ever need on the HMR...of yes, and its more reliable than the Lightforce . The lightforce 170 has a better light for sure, but that is because it has a bigger reflector and a more powerful lamp, but do you need it, remember that means it also eats batteries quicker! ATB!
  22. You will have to go a long way to beat a Predator 8 COMPACT to cover all your criteria! I make no suggestion it is the BEST moderator, whatever that may mean, but it offers a good package of moderation, size, weight, price and is Fully stripable! It does for me and I have one on all my centrefires, .223, .243,. 308
