Shotshells where allegedly developed by our American cousins for snakes as they couldn't hit them with a single round. ...and if we look at the unlikely situation that I am being relentlessly attacked by a deranged snake, and I happen to have a shotshell loaded, I will not be thinking about consulting the statute books!

i have a full box of shot shells but have never used them as i cant see them doing your rifling any good? If you have a half decent rifle keep shotshells out of it..and DON'T use a moderator either. They are as not as bad on the rifling as you may think, and a brush afterwords should clear it out. Just the same, if you intend to use Shotshells a LOT, I strongly suggest investing in a dedicated used cheap as chips rifle, there are plenty about, and it's a GOOD reason for 2 in the same calibre!

I am well aware of what people say about the screen being bright, but it is only bright on maximum illumination settings, and you don't need that at 20 yards. A Bunny 200 yards away doesn't give a hoot how bright or ugly your face is. Regardles of this NiteSIte do offer a screen filter set should you so desire! And I sell it all if you are interested in buying a NS50 or NS200!

I don't know this mod, I've heard of the sonic 45, are they related, anyone got any details/links? Cheers

It's the piece of string question! Brew up a hot load and pile the ammo through at a rate, ignore cleaning and damp and you will **** the barrel in no time. Normal shooting, normal ammo and a GOOD cleaning regime will have your barrel last several thousand rounds!

I haven't seen or used a CB in more than 20 years, are they still available? If people make out shot shells are bad they are using them in the wrong situation! They are VERY good at what they are good at, which is VERY close range small pest control. 20 yards is definitely on the far limit for pretty much anything cleanly, I wouldn't push it that far, 5 yards brilliant 10 ok, 15 :hmm:, but Magnum loads are also available (you need a WMR rifle). Birds, squirrel, snakes, rats, mice etc, but ideally at the end of your barrel.

any opinion on a stainless barrel
Deker replied to fiona22's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Ok, possibly marginally easier to keep clean compared to a blued barrel, marginally better weather handling, but we don't live in the Arctic, hardly worth it even for Wales, and whilst considering that, think about the stock type as well! Probably not worth the debate, just get what you like best!- 7 replies

Flippen 'ek John, you are a tuff old boy carting around a 14lb + lump. My heaviest, the .308, including sling, moderator, scope/sunshade/mounts, full magazine AND the 11-25 Bipod attached is only 11.1lbs..... without Bipod it's 9.93lb. No wonder you need a decent sling!

:hmm: NO! only the expanding types of .22lr I am only talking about the HP he has asked about. Fair enough but it didn't read that way to me, when I see ALL, I see ALL! "I think all .22 LR is classed as expanding, yes"
-
Simple fact is, as with some CF ammo, they are still expanding whatever you want to call them but some can be bought on a FAC with NO expanding condition because they are called Match rounds! So what comes into debate is your definition of the word CLASSED!

I have both, why not, but the tool is the CZ Silhouette and the fun is the Magtech 7022. Expect to use MUCH more ammo with the semi but not harvest any more bunnies, just because it's easy to!
-
Get whatever you like, but a .22lr with any round, but particularly subs, doesn't need a fortune of a mod on the end of it, a SAK at £30-35 is as good as any!

The Wildcat does for me, but make sure you get the COMPACT version, other moderators are available!

Deker replied to fiona22's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Will the fox notice your hands and face, the stars and moon, the house/road/car/farm lights in the background, etc etc etc, whilst being inconspicuous is obviously a good idea I don't know of anyone who has lost a fox due to the glint of a stainless barrel! BUT, why do you want one anyway?- 7 replies

4 x Pairs of Power Drivers and Horns, these are high power professional equipment and most have covers as shown... Main drivers contain 2 x HH Acoustics DC80LW, these handle 160 W Continuous RMS, some 400w each cabinet PMPO, with horn addition some 500W max EACH Driver/horn pair, and give Full range quality sound reproduction. So in real terms there is the capability of circa 2000w handling here, or circa 800w RMS. Solid and rugged, these are not your cheap tinny bedroom speakers. Any questions fire away? Sell as a lot, £250 total. You will need to collect from Rea

It is a free world and you are entitled to an opinion but these are PLUG AND PLAY. People buy Rolls Royce and Range Rovers and Upgrade/customise them, people buy Ruger 10-22 and Remingtons and commonly throw most of them away and "improve them". The NS IS plug and play in the VAST majority of cases, and MANY people, including me, use them VERY satisfactorily that way, if you want to get more then crack on. ATB Deker
