the cz452 and know the cz455 have a 1:9 twist rate they they also have a choked barrel and cutting below 16inch will effect accuracy here: http://shootingsport...sk-Derek-8.aspx Where did you get this 1-9 twist, as far as I'm aware that is the HMR, my 452's in .22lr are all 1-16, and don't believe everything Derek says! the importers edger bros website and cz usa http://www.danwesson...52-varmint/although i have also seen 1:16 mentioned on other site so prehaps there not all the same twist rate Edgar bros and http://www.danwesson...52-varmint/ Both seem to list the HMR as 1-9

Mine is the same as yours - left hook 20". Thinking 12-14" will be best. The rifle looks 'right' as is without the mod on it in terms of length of barrel to stock dimensions etc..at 14" on the barrel with the standard SAK it works out the same length as it is now sans mod. Not the most scientific thinking, but in the absence of any real reason... *edit for readability!* I don't know is the honest answer, this phase of getting barrels cut shorter is relatively new! Frankly though, it makes you wonder if a 12 or 14 inch barrel is fine then why do manufacturers go to the

I looked at that too. Obviously about galf the price of everyone else, and I know you get what you pay for etc, but the margin even at £8 must be HUGE. $15 US, is that £8 now? Anyway, I have had 2 of these kits and rate them!

I owned a 303 (similar to 302) and currently own a 391, my lad loved the 303, I much prefer the 391. They are both excellent but the 391 handles slightly lighter loads than the 303 and is easy with the heavier loads. All round I upgraded because the 391 is a better package, and much better Fore stock (for me), although as I said, my lad loved/preferred the 303!

For close work on a semi there has long been an argument for red dot! Not sure the argument would be so convincing on a Bolt action though!

:hmm: Location: Just Outside Glasgow? Why don't you ask for the .222 for Roe as well (Scotland)? No need to specify Red and Roe for the .270, Deer will do! Yeh, you need good reason as well!

Dedicated "FOX" Rifle....What's that all about?
Deker replied to Deker's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
 BUT..... Chill out, I made it clear it was an EXAMPLE and the word used was ABOUT, there are those I know who can't hit a Fox at 100 yards with a .223, I am not trying to set a definitive range spread for any given rifle, and .223 was also an example, substitute any calibre you like! It's this dedicated business people spout off about I'm not understanding. ...and following on from your comments, Does anyone actually have ANY rifle listed solely for ONE quarry species...For Example the FAC states....... "The .223 shall be used only/solely for Fox control"..... or specific wo -
Just what is this thread all about? I'm really struggling with this! Please explain to me why you are genuine and simply Naive beyond words, and not a wind up merchant!
-
For example:- "22 for rabbits and .223 for a dedicated fox rifle"..... I have seen this term banded about a lot and I just don't get it! I don't know what it means, and it sounds very restrictive. Any given calibre can only ever have a limited use dictated by various physical factors, so what is the .223 dedicated to for foxes? Open field with medium range? Certainly close range in restricted environments smaller calibres come into their own and from 250-300 yards I would be looking at a bigger calibre! So, does this imply "I only shoot foxes with it (NO OTHER ANIMALS) and

This is getting silly, your are either incredibly naive or this is a wind up!

Something that makes you look like Rambo?! If you want a Target tool there are much better available, if you want a Field tool there are much better available, so the question always comes to mind, who wants one and what for? Playing at Superheros isn't a valid reason last time I looked! Sorry, but I don't get them, if you want to play at soldiers join up and do it properly! Just my opinion!

The Tikka T3 is simply a term for the WHOLE range, the T3 Lite is a Model (which has further sub models) Somewhat like saying Ford Focus, then you have Zetec, ST, Titanium, etc...
-
:hmm: We all have out experiences, I have a T3 Lite in .223 and a Rem 700SPS Stainless in .308 (and a T3 Hunter in .243), I don't have any problem with the original stock on either ...EXCEPT...neither is much cop, but the Tikka is VERY badly balanced out of the box with NO weight in the rear stock, making the gun front heavy, very front heavy if you fit a moderator. My SPS didn't suffer from this even with a mod fitted, I have since taken about 3" off the flagpole of a barrel it came with, just for convenience! The T3 Lite took me 2 years, 3 Scopes, 2 Scope Mounts, 3 Moderators, 2 barrel

The 700DM is detachable mag (DM), but that isn't a 700SPS Stainless. Perhaps there is a new model, can someone find a link?
-
Did I miss something, is there a new model or are you planning on doing some modifications, the 700SPS Synthetic Stainless comes with a Floor Plate not a magazine, and Tikka are all magazine!
-
No, (as in V-Max) and it is unlikely they will! The answer is down to physics rather than wildlife damage! The .22lr excels as a sub sonic tool, it was never designed for the High velocity ammo that is currently available, which will never group as well as subs. The real factors with Ballistic tips and .22lr are accuracy issues combined with energy, the little .22lr case/propellant does not have the energy for appropriate Ballistic tip terminal effect!

:hmm: I'm not following that at all, so why do they exist on HM2, HMR and WMR? What is wrong with a CHOICE?

:hmm: HMR is too loud on rabbits, I think every situation needs assessing in its own right! Dead is dead my friend, a HMR is VERY capable in MANY situations, as is a .22lr, WMR etc. and in plenty of situations is a BETTER tool to use than a CF! .22lr .17HMR .22WMR ALL dealt with in clients Gardens!

Absolute bargain, way over £200 new. All the bits, hood, sitting platform and in as new condition, only ever worn 2 or 3 times. Not worn it since last winter as I have lost weight, new jacket now arrived so this has to go, any questions fire away. UK size 42 £100 delivered to UK mainland. Cheers

Not the Air Rifles! I understand these are CZ "copies" , and apparently the 5 and 9 shot metal mags fit CZ (not sure which models). Never heard of them before but they seem cheap, complete package of rifle scope mod £325 synthetic, £245 wood! Also, and very interesting, replacement stock synthetic or wood £50. Does that fit CZ????? I know nothing of these rifles, they may be complete pants for all I know but that begs some questions! All I know is Highland Outdoors seems to import them, Anyone throw anymore light on these?
-
Hi the Sonic mods are being made for Highland outdoors if you look on their web sight it should give you all the information. Atb Woodydog. Thanks for this BUT I only see the Sonic 45 on their site, is it me or is this talk of the sonic 35 a typo???? EDIT Found them now!
