It doesn't matter where your head is as long as your eye looks down the centre of the scope. Don't try and complicate things by Parallax discussion, especially as you have no requirement for range finding with it, at 30-40yards with a air rifle it is a complication you do not need. Just make sure the "target" is in focus and you look through the centre of the scope!

This wait a while syndrone seems to be gaining momentum, WHY, if you have the land and need, then you should be able to get a .243 on FIRST GRANT. You don't get a CF because you have had an air rifle or shotgun or rimfire a while, so why do you think you need to wait?

As The Duncan pointed out that is a Sirocco (Edgar Bros), mine melted! There are 2 versions, the SM11 and the SM1116, the SM1116 would be the better of the 2 on a HMR, mine was originally a SM11 (if you find a "P" on the end of the number they are identical but have been proofed), and Edgar Bros kindly replaced it with a SM1116 when it did melt. I have to suggest I do not consider either fit for purpose, and the moderation is nothing special either. The Tall mod on the left is a Sako and has a better build and sound reduction (I had a Sako on my WMR for years with no problems, the WM

:hmm: The law is the law, and it is perfectly legal to buy many moderators without a FAC, it's what you do after that which becomes a personal choice/decision! Just like when you buy a perfectly legal car, nothing wrong with that at all, but if you decide to do 40mph in a 30mph limit it then becomes a personal choice/decision! The need for a variation on Moderators and also Same calibre rifles etc has also been debated over several years, and proposals are in hand to allow RFD to do this directly with no prior police authority required. Don't hold your breath though, must be 3 or

That looks like someone has attacked it with a hack saw and sand blaster, just the same that is going to make **** all difference to your accuracy, there is no apparent damage anywhere close to the bore or rifling. Just the same, for rimfire ammo to cause that it has been abused and you may want to do something about it, on top of which the bore MAY be damaged so worth checking it out. My suspicions would be the inside of your mod has suffered and possibly melted! Does it look like any of these?

There are many mods that can be bought off ticket and are suitable for rimfires. Just go into any rfd and ask what Air Rifle mods he has. But DON'T get one with the accoustic wadding in it, a HMR will take it apart in no time! What you do with it afterwards is down to you.

There is no automatic ban on you holding SGC/FAC with that, but lets be honest, it isn't the best CV for a FAC application. Maybe a low key call to your region and a chat may be in order.

1:16 it is then makes sense then. that the shortest barrel they do is 16 inch in 22lr as the round wouldnt do a full revolution in a barrel shorter than 16 inch ....so 9" Barrel is ok for the HMR then? Also, Anschutz, who are world renown for accuracy do the 1417, 14" barrel .22lr, @1-16.5 twist? :hmm:  you got me good job i trust the experts ill stick to pulling the trigger Maybe a 9" barrel on a HMR would not be too bad looking at this, but as it stops at 10" we can't be sure! http://www.bullberry.com/HMRdata.html

the cz452 and know the cz455 have a 1:9 twist rate they they also have a choked barrel and cutting below 16inch will effect accuracy here: http://shootingsport...sk-Derek-8.aspx Where did you get this 1-9 twist, as far as I'm aware that is the HMR, my 452's in .22lr are all 1-16, and don't believe everything Derek says! the importers edger bros website and cz usa http://www.danwesson...52-varmint/although i have also seen 1:16 mentioned on other site so prehaps there not all the same twist rate Edgar bros and http://www.danwesson...52-varmint/ Both seem to list the HMR as 1-9

Mine is the same as yours - left hook 20". Thinking 12-14" will be best. The rifle looks 'right' as is without the mod on it in terms of length of barrel to stock dimensions etc..at 14" on the barrel with the standard SAK it works out the same length as it is now sans mod. Not the most scientific thinking, but in the absence of any real reason... *edit for readability!* I don't know is the honest answer, this phase of getting barrels cut shorter is relatively new! Frankly though, it makes you wonder if a 12 or 14 inch barrel is fine then why do manufacturers go to the

I looked at that too. Obviously about galf the price of everyone else, and I know you get what you pay for etc, but the margin even at £8 must be HUGE. $15 US, is that £8 now? Anyway, I have had 2 of these kits and rate them!

I owned a 303 (similar to 302) and currently own a 391, my lad loved the 303, I much prefer the 391. They are both excellent but the 391 handles slightly lighter loads than the 303 and is easy with the heavier loads. All round I upgraded because the 391 is a better package, and much better Fore stock (for me), although as I said, my lad loved/preferred the 303!

For close work on a semi there has long been an argument for red dot! Not sure the argument would be so convincing on a Bolt action though!

:hmm: Location: Just Outside Glasgow? Why don't you ask for the .222 for Roe as well (Scotland)? No need to specify Red and Roe for the .270, Deer will do! Yeh, you need good reason as well!

Dedicated "FOX" Rifle....What's that all about?
Deker replied to Deker's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
 BUT..... Chill out, I made it clear it was an EXAMPLE and the word used was ABOUT, there are those I know who can't hit a Fox at 100 yards with a .223, I am not trying to set a definitive range spread for any given rifle, and .223 was also an example, substitute any calibre you like! It's this dedicated business people spout off about I'm not understanding. ...and following on from your comments, Does anyone actually have ANY rifle listed solely for ONE quarry species...For Example the FAC states....... "The .223 shall be used only/solely for Fox control"..... or specific wo -
Just what is this thread all about? I'm really struggling with this! Please explain to me why you are genuine and simply Naive beyond words, and not a wind up merchant!
-
For example:- "22 for rabbits and .223 for a dedicated fox rifle"..... I have seen this term banded about a lot and I just don't get it! I don't know what it means, and it sounds very restrictive. Any given calibre can only ever have a limited use dictated by various physical factors, so what is the .223 dedicated to for foxes? Open field with medium range? Certainly close range in restricted environments smaller calibres come into their own and from 250-300 yards I would be looking at a bigger calibre! So, does this imply "I only shoot foxes with it (NO OTHER ANIMALS) and

This is getting silly, your are either incredibly naive or this is a wind up!

Something that makes you look like Rambo?! If you want a Target tool there are much better available, if you want a Field tool there are much better available, so the question always comes to mind, who wants one and what for? Playing at Superheros isn't a valid reason last time I looked! Sorry, but I don't get them, if you want to play at soldiers join up and do it properly! Just my opinion!

The Tikka T3 is simply a term for the WHOLE range, the T3 Lite is a Model (which has further sub models) Somewhat like saying Ford Focus, then you have Zetec, ST, Titanium, etc...
