  1. I have one of these spare, as new, fully boxed, etc, comes with flip up covers and sunshade! I use several, and the 6-24 version, still do, so does my lad. http://www.jsramsbot...riflescope.html That works out just over £50 with the carriage, mine is £32 including delivery to UK Mainland. Bargain! Anyone want a chat please PM me..... Cheers Bottom two, .22lr Style, WMR American.
  2. It wouldn't be my first choice for leaning out of a clients bedroom and shooting a fox in their back garden but, for what many seem to call a dedicated fox gun it will be fine! What would be better about a Tikka and why would you want a bigger calibre?
  3. Yep! Most are also very reliable and most will last a lifetime if treated with respect. So, pay more for wood, asthetics, engineering, whatever if you want, but don't expect to achieve any more in the field with it!
  4. Something seems to be getting lost in translation here!
  5. He cant, but I am talking about me shooting both rifles side by side, one after the other! Similar effect when I shoot heavy fluted 20" .308, against 24" lighter barrel. You have a strange effect on rifles, I have never seen this before on 1 for 1 shots, I can buy it if you were down a range and blasting away but I'm stumped as to how you are doing this "Field" shooting? Ammo maybe? If you are ever down my way bring some tools and I'll see how my HMR and .308 stack up against them! Many different reasons I expect, different rifling, different cleaning regimes,

  7. Me thinks your mate can't shoot too well!
  8. I had a link to HMR barrels being chopped down 1" at a time and the optimum for speed was about 18". Doesn't seem to work anymore! Accuracy wise 16-20" I don't see the difference as being measurable for most, so get what works best for you.
  9. HMR will make very little difference, you will have to fire a LOT of rounds down even a light HMR barrel, in very quick succession to warm it up to any appreciable extent. 10 shots quickly down a .223 and you will have a very hot barrel! Just the same, Zero COLD!
  10. Ok, and your reasoning, or are you just looking for a scrap?
  11. Shame your not so hot at your deer identification ! How many White tailed Deer a year do YOU control ? Grow up!
  12. Always a good read, and interesting to hear about the torches, well done John!
  13. Best tip by miles if you are lamping is nothing to do with filters, get a dimmer switch and use it!
  14. Yeah, that is a good idea, but I remember a few years back I ended up attracting one BEHIND me, who just sat looking at me in an Open Field not 15 yards away, wondering what was going on!
  15. Barrels, chokes, actions, springs, seals, even the stock, Yeah, Edgar Bros are good at warranty work on the Hatsan. Sorry, couldn't resist! :D
  16. Perhaps you better ask "someone" to make you an offer, anyone else you will have to pay to take it away!
  17. Ok, what is the difference between the scopes from either country, except money? S&B more than suggest NOTHING! Please, not "I've heard", "my mate", "I read", first hand comments. Thanks
  18. As is so often the case this thread seems to have rolled all over the place, at least this response has some bearing on the original question........ So, if we are talking a Single gun, and General circumstances, What would be wrong with a .22Hornet, especially if you were reloading?
  19. If the bullet keeps hitting the mod then it is very simple, something isn't lined up, that could be the rifle bore, the thread on either the rifle or mod, or the mod was loose! The inside of the SM11 doesn't usually fall apart, the components just tend to melt/fuse together, is it the SM11 you are talking about? This is easy, you just need eyes or possibly a rod if your eyes are ****! A Gunsmith can see the problem immediately, so I don't get why he has sent the rifle back especially if he thinks it is the moderator! :hmm: im not sure which mod it is but i think its the one in the

  21. Fox attacks do happen but they are extremely rare. I remain sceptical of much I read in the paper, this guy grabbed his nose to apparently stop him breathing, Yeah, I'm sure that would be my first reaction waking up in the jaws of a fox, and teeth marks, where were they? :hmm: Who knows, but my first thought would be to dig deeper into his story!
