  1. Anyone got or used this, I've never seen it, but been around a while now, and allegedly solves all the historical HMR ammo issues??????????????????? Buy A17 for USD 81.99 | CCI (cci-ammunition.com)
  2. Can I just open this out a bit. Apparently HMR ammo manufacture has improved (to the extent semi auto HMR rifles have been reintroduced in some parts of the world) Is anyone using new ammo that is split free at the moment, if so, how vigilant are you at checking it, and what brand/type is it please? Cheers
  3. Just a thought, the timer is set right on the camera!?!? My (cheap) trail cameras are useless time wise, have to reset them a lot!!
  4. Isn't it always the way!!! Just what I get from all the domestics ..... "well, it was regular as clockwork until you arrived!!!"
  5. Don't start on the cats, it is a forbidden subject and will get the thread locked!! But, the pair living next to me bring home at least 1 bird a day between them...just saying!!!
  6. Has Skegness been mentioned in this thread, I see its all kicking off there as well?!
  7. That's good then, some are a wider range! Odds are pretty strong though you will get better results with a rimfire mod on there rather than the CF one!
  8. The split cases have been going on from day one. Apparently, something has been done to improve things over the last few years, no idea what!
  9. I want to avoid damage and having to re Gelcoat at all costs!!!
  10. I've got down to 1200 wet and dry, but I'm trying not to do any damage to the Gelcoat. Its bound to need a bit of cutting after the lettering has gone, as no doubt the lettering will still show with gelcoat fading, but I really don't want to Repair the gelcoat with anything!
  11. Oh dear, that is an unfortune mix to say the least!!!!
  12. To be honest its worth a try, but hole size really needs to be as close to the specific calibre as possible (for best results), and baffles on centrefire Mods are built/balanced to work with higher velocity projectiles. So, although the likes of a centrefire mod should be of some help, you may actually find you get better results with a HMR/.22LR specific Mod! I would completely discount anything close to an AIR Rifle mod on a .22LR either Sub or HV.
  13. A moderator will always reduce the propellant crack, the better the mod is suited to the appropriate ammo, the better it will improve the moderation of the propellant crack, but regardless, with HV there will be a limit on the moderation of the propellant crack. In either case it will have no effect on the Sonic crack! You will be better moving from an Air Rifle type mod to a LR Mod regardless, if you want to use HV ammo, the SAK does this fine (there are others), and I use it for .22LR Subs and WMR, no problems with either, except its life may be slightly reduced with HV. The nature o
  14. The 22 Hornet still trundles along in the UK, although its popularity is limited these days, nothing wrong with it, and potentially serves a useful purpose where it sits energy wise! Do you have the 17 Hornet, don't seem to hear much about that in the UK these days!!
  15. Always sad to hear news like this. There is more than enough economic and social pressure on shoots, without other environmental issues clobbering them as well!
  16. Yep, the sonic crack always happens outside the barrel and passed the mod, so there is nothing you can do about it. I think technically, Silencers are only applicable to sub sonic ammo, after that they are Sound Moderators, although the name seems interchangeable with various manufacturers/retailers/users!!! Both my .22LR have a SAK on the end, so does my WMR, my HMR has a SM11, and when they dies it will get a SAK as well. The SAK is still one of the cheapest on the market and I'm more than happy with its performance on Sub Sonic and HV! PS I have heard good things abou
  17. What's the building/tax regulations in Ireland, are they similar to UK?
  18. Help please!! I need to remove a name, (Lettering), painted onto Gelcoat without damaging the Gelcoat. Cellulose thinners have been suggested, but I'm really nervous about that, I think it could damage the Gelcoat, BUT, is there a way I can dilute cellulose thinners, and if so what with?? Any other suggestions how to remove the painted name but not damage the Gelcoat. Cheers!!
  19. Gender self identification is lunacy! How can you wake up one day and identify as a woman, and the next day identify as a man, or whatever other gender is fashionable, its just bonkers!!
  20. Depends on barrel and ammo of course. That will be a 100yard zero, with a FIRST zero at 42 yards.
  21. Each to their own. If that works for you that's great. Personally, and for my locations, I favour somewhere 75-100 Yard zero! That leaves me pretty much point and shoot from about 25-125 yards!
  22. Good point, she went under the knife later in life and it was pretty obvious!!
  23. Personally I never had time for her, a woke idiot with tunnel vision, but somehow a lot in Scotland did! It may be someone worse next, its still the SNP!!!!
  24. As a matter of interest, what zero do you have on the HMR? Mine is 100yards, and as I mentioned in a previous post, I'm confident out to 125, but in honesty the majority of shots are under 100. Been thinking of knocking down the zero to 75-80 maybe, but not really having any issues regardless!
