Let me be clear here, are you saying you can order a 12ft lb rifle from abroad for shipment to your UK home address? I've never thought about that, makes a mockery of UK Law if that is the case, and seems very unfair on UK dealers! Cheers

What are the batteries like for these, I don't have anything that uses these batteries, they don't seem cheap. Any tips here, and what about the chargers? Cheers

You can't get more dead than dead, if the Bisley Mags stayed in, they would seem to have imparted more energy into the rabbit. If the Exacts passed through them, energy was wasted, just the same, plenty was imparted to do the job! The accuracy v energy debate at work, if you can combine both you are on a real winner! I have always found the Bisley Mags to be decent quality, and being heavy pellets they can have their uses, but at 12ft lb they can obviously have a bit of an arc. On the whole most tend to use them at FAC powers, where they can be excellent!

Do you take the dents out of the wood, or sand them out? I've never had the best of success trying to pull the dents back, any tips? Cheers -
I would have though you would have rushed to put anything up after the incredibly generous help the members have given you here! Frankly, I would like to see, and I can but suspect others much closer may be pleased to see her reaction as well!

I didn't suggest a 7.62 or a .308 though, I suggested the .22 Hornet's little brother. It was worth mentioning for others reading if not Walshie, as anyone considering the .22 should always consider the .17 Hornet as well. If the.17 doesn't float your particular boat, then that's fair enough. BTW, on the subject of internet scouring / armchair shooting, I have 30 yrs experience in the field. .22 Hornet is a useful little round if you like playing around with reloading. Good luck with the .22 CZ Walshie if that's the route you choose. Put it like this, you need to go into hospital
-
Yeah but .22 Hornet isn't always good off the shelf as it's often chambered to be compatible with older guns at lower pressures. As for the Christmas party, I couldn't come. I'm at the Train spotters one instead! Ammo is ammo, just like air rifle pellets, you find the one that suits your gun and your application. Job done! Doesn't matter a jot about the rest! 2 x 17 Hornet off the production line next to each other may favour different ammo, or none, so you may need to reload!

There are different stock fittings on different calibres, and different types of stock on the 452, The HMR and WMR American are generally similar to the best of my knowledge. My 452 WMR American stock was not the best fit and often ended up touching the barrel at the fore end. These are quite easy to adjust with a little fettling, in my case I actually had to add a little wood back at the front of the action (completely invisible externally), the barrel is now dead straight in the stock, the gap totally even and the barrel FREE FLOATING. A heck of a lot quicker/cheaper and easi

Its nothing particularly to do with being a pcp, it can happen to any type of rifle, rimfires, centrefires and BBs, everything you can think of. It will almost always be down to unusual pressure/movement on the barrel, most commonly caused by flexible stocks or other unusual pressure! This is quite commonly seen when using a bipod, POI can often shift!

You must be putting in Bulk orders for Nitromors these days! -
Good luck to you. Out of curiosity what calibre 452 and WHY? It's a rimfire for sure, and I suspect a field tool, do you have a problem or do you think this will make a noticeable difference to an already brilliant field rifle? ATB!

:hmm: Possibly, but I don't see that as a negative, more of a benefit. For "ME", that will very rarely occur, as I most commonly survey first, just the same I have the option to take 2 or 3 just in case! Hence why a Hornet has gone through my mind many times, and that mythical beast the 17WSM, but I've simply never had a job crop up where I saw it as the ideal, or frankly close. With the selection I have there just doesn't seem a need between WMR and .223...for me! That may seem odd to many but that is the reality, if I needed one I'd get one, its my business! ATB!

P8 COMPACT is the route, smaller and lighter than T8 or P8, fine up to and including .308! Trouble is it's another £220? to fork out when I don't need one as yet. Went out with the .308 today just to play at a new 200yd plate that we have set up on the shoot. It really does make all the differnce with a moderator as we can shoot without ear protection and have a little bit of banter. Jeeze, when you see a bloody gert ding in a 12mm plate at 200yds you appreciate the knock-down power of a 150grn .308 bullet. G I've tried it with a few.......

Little Help/advice Wanted Please
Deker replied to shropshire dan's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
They look really useful for the likes of the Nite Site. -
I have thought that many times myself, I have a circa 1000ft lb gap between my WMR and .223 and you would think the likes of a Hornet may be useful. Just the same, even though it's my business, and I get called for all manor of work, PERSONALLY I have never found the need!

This has all come from a client phone call and I don't actually know if it will come off, but trying to be prepared. Allegedly it is 1 mink in a private garden next to a river! Cheers for responses!

I was/am sure personally, I can't obviously speak for others. Like I said, what did you get your information about having to register SPECIFICALLY for the EU referendum? Cheers
-
dont think you missed anything ! its just the system changed in 2014 and now a lot of people are not on the register that were before, because they MAY not have re registered ! if you have the polling cards for next week it seems your ok ! anyone that doesnt take much notice could loose out, so definitely worthwhile bringing it to peoples notice That's the way I saw it, but WILF seemed to be suggesting we must register to vote specifically for the EU referendum!
-
I take the point about registering, but the way I see it that is nothing to do with having to register specifically for the EU referendum. That is a general registration of your voting rights. If you are already registered to vote you get a vote automatically in the referendum, there is no need for specific Referendum registration. Or did I miss something? Cheers!
-
WILF What have I missed, point me in the direction it says I have to Register to Vote SPECIFICALLY in the referendum, Cheers This is all I can find which says I don't need to! Who will be able to vote? British, Irish and Commonwealth citizens over 18 who are resident in the UK, along with UK nationals living abroad who have been on the electoral register in the UK in the past 15 years. Members of the House of Lords and Commonwealth citizens in Gibraltar will also be eligible, unlike in a general election. Citizens from EU countries - apart from Ireland, Malta and Cyprus - will not g

Right, I may just have a Mink removal job coming up in Macclesfield, it's a way out of my normal patch, is there anyone here capable/interested if it comes off? Cheers
