  1. True, I just take mine for a swim in the dam, kills more fleas than frontline, fleas are immune to it, around here anyway.
  2. Each to their own ways. I'm not keen on changing diet around though. I knew people on a dairy farm and they had Russells to keep the rats down. They were raised on heaps of milk and always got it, the dogs had teeth the size of a German Shepherd's so milk is ok for some. I still don't think dogs need milk once weaned, it's not natural for them or us either.
  3. Yeah, I'm with socks on the no milk supplement. By the time they get off the bitch mine are getting bone in their diet from rabbit, chicken and chewing on beef bones. I've seen some pups handle milk but a lot don't and it's not good getting upset guts when they don't need to.
  4. Why not a straight cross bull/grey, 1/4 is enough without sacrificing pace and would be easier to find I'd imagine.
  5. I agree and when doing pest control I only kept 6 hobs and took my time. If they killed underground it didn't matter as the purpose was to exterminate the rabbits, the farmers didn't want to see rabbits emerging after I was there. I have recently got jills as my interest now is bolting to the dogs and sustainable hunting in my local spots. Quick bolts but not destroying a colony.
  6. WTF lol, can you get a pic up of him mate? My jills are pretty small around 750gm and the hob I thought was big at around 1.8kg.
  7. That's it. You have a good point, people think of a world globe on their desk.
  8. It's more likely than not that there are other planets with intelligent life forms. The chances of them having two eyes, a nose and a mouth is next to zero, that is a trait of creatures evolved on earth. That's why the aliens people describe are not from another planet imo, I think if genuine they are humans from the future. If we are invaded by aliens we would stand no chance with their technology and they aren't going all this way to shake our hands. My grandad and great uncle were followed by a spaceship in the 50's at close range. I believe the story as they wouldn't speak about it and the
  9. There are some guys who dig to ferrets here but I really don't know why most don't. Even most terrier people just like to bolt foxes, just a different sport over here. It's a pretty laid back place, or was, so we are happy to take time out.
  10. I think we don't dig mostly because we couldn't be fckd ?
  11. Only mucking around and the jill probably frightened as you'd know but I had a black eyed white that we hand raised. The rest of the litter were very tame and friendly from the get go but not Magoo, named as he only had one eye plus he was huge. He started with what yours did and ended up nailing me and the whippets on every hunt. I was going to shoot him but he escaped and mauled the local shop keeper in her chicken pen giving her multiple stitches, he took off never to be seen again, lol. He was like a fckn wolverine.
  12. There are a few of these Black Mouth curs being used on pigs here now, I think they are more of a bailer than lugger.
  13. Boxers are a pretty common cross for pig dogs here, they have the build without being too game and psycho. They also have a good nose surprisingly. My mrs had a white pure boxer bitch she used for hunting, only a small type and it was also a great guard at home.
  14. I'd be putting Luna in a bucket and Detol on the thumb mate ?.
  15. I couldn't shoot Ted the Turd, he keeps the chooks safe from rats, cats and foxes but the point is I was amazed how tough the Leghorns are because Ted has killed feral cats as big as himself. You terrier killers can fck off ?.
  16. Lol, I was thinking of shooting him because he couldn't kill it. Seriously, the whippet and the terrier pup bashed him up for it, I think because they saw me slap him, lol.
  17. Country Oz version, gifted lurcher and tinsel.
  18. Let my Parson Russell out into a fenced area next to my free range chickens. One of the Leghorn hens decided to fly over the fence when I went inside and the terrier which usually pays no noticed grabbed her. By the time I got out, gave the dog a hiding, the hen was flat down, half it's feathers gone and bleeding. I grabbed the axe but then thought I'll give her a chance as she's my best hen. Next day up on her feet and has got better each day. I was going to change breeds after these go but the Leghorns are tough as nails with heat, cold and even terrier attacks, I think I'll stick with these
  19. Ok, might need something dedicated more to off road then.
  20. I had the Coopers on my 99 Nissan Pathfinder for years and only changed them to Bridgestone Duellers because they were that old but the tread was still ok. I have the Bridgestones on my 2011 Hilux and are good on and off road but I don't do really rough four wheeling.
  21. I reckon you could train a Russell to follow puma scent, I think you can get bottles of it. The dogs they imported ended up in pig dog lines here, don't know why when they trail bark.
  22. Has anyone in the UK that is keen and certain of big cats living there ever imported some trained, big cat hunting hounds. There were some blokes in Oz that imported some coonhounds for tracking pumas they had seen. They came up empty handed but they must have been convinced they were there to go to that expense.
