  1. Good stuff. Now try standing on one leg in a gale :-)
  2. Much luckier than the professional reviewers who see and hear all the tales of woe and know the history of the calibre from it's inception and who have also seen the different dimensional drawings and loadings over time. I respect your experience but just because you've had 6 guns in the calibre doesn't mean you have had every dimension of gun made in your hands especially the K's of which you appear to have non. You've had ones that complied with modern standards and / or were compatible. But in a world where tens of thousands were made, saying you had 6 of them so there's nothing differe
  3. But you don't know as much as someone who's had 7 hornets do you? Lol, no, very true. Maybe I just got lucky!
  4. No not sarcasm but I do think it is utter rubbish sorry. Six hornet's have passed through my hands. Some old some new. Zero issues with chambers and bores. .224" down .223" barrels no problem. I don't believe everything I read on the net but I will stick to my experience of six rifles in hornet with my reloads and factory ammo ta. U.
  5. What's the budget? Lots of money can be thrown at a blow up dolly! I like the cheap end then the pain ain't to bad :-)
  6. Is there a gun does not like FAPS? Wasps? Every head size known to man in a single tin!
  7. New hw45 are not as good as the old ones. I had one for few months but got rid. Lost alot of money. Over priced too. They use a lousy excuse of a piston seal now and in 17 don't produce much more than the mentioned Beeman!
  8. Similar noise. Range, well I just get closer, still getting as many done as my centerfire days, just that, well, I seem to mis less. Being closer I guess. You already mentioned how close you got the other night! Personally, I recon long range rifles have contributed to lampshy foxes over the last thirty years more than any shotgun or 22 used at night! My WMR often does inch groups without much effort.
  9. Re the story about the 243 being an up graded 222! That sounds like a bit of rubbish. Two completely different rounds. Smells like sales pitch. One thing about the hmr is keeping the barrel clean. Getting copper out the tiny bore is not too bad. Detecting it is difficult. Short of an accuracy loss. WMR no good?
  10. What kind of distances do you envisage? What is the prey? U.
  11. Brass life is improved in the K. Forming brss is easy, you just fire a standard hornet in the K chamber. Whilst the gain is low in some opinions, to others it is a boon. Accuracy can be improved to via the lack of long taper on the case. U.
  12. Great place. Mate of mine stalks on a small estate near kelso. :-).
  13. Just fine, I stopped chasing long shots years ago. It does small game a treat and it is plenty for Charlie. It even despatched a wounded fallow doe I happened on once. It has all but replaced my 22 lr! U.
  14. Walked my fat body miles! Glad I took the WMR, the zero was off! Not much, but off. On now :-). U.
  15. Great photos, where is it? Looks like SW Scotland. U.
  16. Sorry taff, wasn't having a go. Atb. U.
  17. Good for you bud. U :-)
  18. Thanks, can never remember lol. U.
  19. In the cool shade. What a shock, the strong sun. Nice. U.
