  1. Good for you. Looks like a part of Wales! U ?
  2. Some one asked for off hand groups so here is mine. I just shot the five, no practice. I also called the one that went hi and I knew it before I had seen it. Pellets are 22 FAPS. Next I shot the pistol. Five shots. 22 marksmen pointed. I can call one but not the blighter off the paper! On the whole I was pleased, just up and shoot on open sights. U.
  3. a theoben rapid a gun id love to own one day! Oh right, ?
  4. .58 is IIRC about 24g. The longest today was bit short of 30yds. A .58 I had years ago was mustard on rabbits beyond 30yds and no choking! U.
  5. Not used the .58 for ages and as a shotgun it's not at its best but non the less after seeing a few birds on some local barley I got it ready and set off. There is some dead cherry with open branches the pigeon like to land in before they drop on the crop. Taking no decoys, seat or netting I sat or rather kneeled in the kettles just to the side of the dead cherry trees. Sure enough they came in, I soon dropped from 1oz loads to 3/4oz the birds were so close. Exciting sport for a good hour. A few birds and a jackdaw. Only retrieved one bird?, the rest were in the crop of barley
  6. Ruling illness out, I too have had rifles that are poor off hand shooters! It is not a weight thing but can be and not a length thing but can be but if I have a bit of a rule/s it is; Never buy a rifle without trying one first and I tend to aim for slim stocks and longer rifles.
  7. Looks sturdy, should take some abuse.
  8. Good for you. As for buying others, it is an illness of which no known cure exists. The only treatment there is that gives temporary relief from the condition is the Mrs tongue!!
  9. No one can stop it shaking or moving about! You have to wait for it to pause a split second and trip the trigger. How many times have I got to.....
  10. for destruction. I do enjoy a single barrel. A couple of crows and pigeon but best of all was jess. In nine months she has gone from not knowing what a rabbit is to just chasing them and now actually going in for the kill. She bolted rabbits out of the long grass and the shotgun took a few. One though, she run down and grabbed it and as she overshot, it made for the hedge but jess threw herself in the hedge. Next thing I heard was a squealing rabbit. When I had her,she was petrified of a gun, now she loves them. U.
  11. Not air pistol but how is this 200yd group? http://www.levergunscommunity.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=66286&sid=d073349a75ce82c55a86d63e69a8cc28
  12. Good fun and quiet, so the others come in!
  13. Even your chinky would struggle to spit them out straight u The chinky special is quite pellet fussy but loves FAPs which have flimsy skirts but shoots damaged ones ok for field work. It's not nice to see in a tin, I understand that.....? U.
  14. Sticks have their place in air rifle shooting. They allow women, children and the disabled to enjoy the sport Absolutely. My apologies for my oversight. U.?
  15. Fair few in north staffs. Starting to drop on barley now and the grass/clover. U.
  16. I took a walk last night with a rifle. Four rabbits two at 100 ish, a jackdaw and a woodie. All off hand. Also shot at a crow beyond 300 yds. Guessed the wind right but held too high. Off hand. I don't know why many find it so hard! Perhaps it has more to do with a perceived fear of ever missing. Miss I do and guess what, life still goes on after and I don't cry. (Much). U.
  17. In 177 or BB, has anyone here have one? How accurate are they at 10+yards? U.
  18. Average size mate, the camera lens plays tricks with the image as she is closer to the lens.
  19. Just let it float around and then all of a sudden it will be there for a split second, release the shot. If not lower the gun and try again. You have a good trigger on that rifle.
  20. Good going. Can't beat a bit of crow bashing.
  21. Raising the front of the scope will lower impact bud. The barrel is bent up or the scope was bent down. Bend the appropriate one back. Easy.
  22. Let's get this clear. Is the gun shooting high or low? If low but was not before, you barrel is bent down, or the latch spring is defective. Or the scope ocular bell is bent up. Shooting higher than before then the barrel is bent up, common on tripping the trigger with the barrel still broken and or the ocular bell has been bent towards the gun. U. Sorry guys, objective lens end, not ocular.
