At last an early 1970's Pedersoli double turned up. An era when they were nice and light . The gun fits perfectly and POI is spot on. Just got to repair or replace the rammer, it broke due to short grain! U.

The bullet is very slow in the trail boss load, the paper has some time to move out of the way somewhat.

Just to let you know Croxton country store in Staffordshire 01630620226 has 2 sealed 1lb cans of H322 from a retired shooting man. £90 in today's money but they only want £50 for the two. Nowt to do with me just letting you all know. Has some pyrodex too. U.

Grand photo and a great shot, well done you. Looks a nice gun. 25yards or so for me. Sometimes 30yds. Chokes, I prefer about half choke and #7 shot. Most only stock #6 cartridges though. My fave load is 1/2oz loads.

You may have a very early gun there! I think the circle with sp in it has something to do with date of manufacture. This dating method predates 1977, I think! I hope someone can be more helpful. U.

Thrutch, it's common terminology to describe power. Well around here it is and if you're over 50! U:-)

Why have SbS shotguns gone out of fashion.
Underdog replied to Meece's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Well, I was out with someone who felt the same until he shot a duck with one shot, opened the gun and shut it again on the one unfired cartridge due to two geese approaching. Click, no recoil, no second barrel either! Beretta need recoil to switch barrels for the single trigger. On that occasion my sxs with two triggers dropped both geese! U. -

I know a lady that rejected a super imposed and chose a sxs instead for clays, recently, double triggers too. -
I got the cartridges from croxton country store, do you know it?

A friend put me on to some proper 1/2oz .410 loads with some thrutch behind them and I was eager to try them. Feeling very much like my reloads I am very impressed with them. NSI is the make. I called a crow in and a magpie, always a pleasure! Then a brace of roosting woodies. The little 410 never ceases to amaze me. U.

Yes it was me that got banned on the airgun forum for pistol shooting rabbits. They thought it gives the wrong image and thought I was doing it to flame them. I made it clear that it was a special little area that when the cover is just right I can get very very close. Funny thing is photos of catapult kills were no problem! For the record, I am nothing special. I remember when we were trusted with real revolvers and pistols. I lament that we cannot hunt with pistols that use powder of any type. To pit my wit's and pick my shots with a pi

Nothing carries as nice as a sxs. Friend of mine just bought a boxlock ejector for £60! Bargain. Only ever bought two super imposed, won't bother again. Personally I don't think they have gone out of fashion. Just that the market is getting smaller, most cabinets in the country side will have a double gun with the barrels fixed the correct way. Only poor shots and people full of excuses don't use side by side guns :-) U. -
View Advert Pedersoli Bess. This is Pedersoli's short pattern model. It is about 30years old and in very good condition. In fact it has an amazingly reliable lock and goes bang every time! I have hunted many times with it. It has taken fox, pheasants, pigeons and rabbits. Photos available on request. I have also shot clays with it. It has a sound bore of .75". Good going mate.

223 would be my choice but that's just an opinion. I personally for hunting would avoid a varmint barrel purely from a weight point of view. After all they were used in the field for shooting prairie dog towns where getting the barrel hot was an issue, it is rare for that to happen in the UK other than at a range. U.

I had a tracker years ago and played around with it alot. It didn't make much difference! Nice rifles, just get closer. U.

Good efforts and better for you than telly or beer. They are moody just before breeding, they have one thing on their minds now! U.

The weather was rough this AM, sleet, wind and rain. So I did some chores but by midday I was ready to go.I was hunting rabbits and pheasant. The first rabbit got a lucky break, the cap failed to light the charge! The second rabbit was not so fortunate. Semi hidden on a brook bank below me I could only make out its rump and purely guessed it's head position. The ball found its neck and the rabbit took a bath in the brook! The second rabbit a large buck I was aiming for that black eye at nearly 30 yards and the ball found its mark again.Content with two rabbits I switched to shot hoping for a phea
