  1. .... today for Christmas. On the way home I considered which chores to do first then when got home promptly grabbed the AyA Cosmos and the cartridge belt, actually a moment of depression washed over me as I struggled to get the cartridge belt on! It's on its last hole! I recalled how I had owned this belt since my early 20's, nearly thirty years. I remember it being on its first hole then I snapped out of it! It could seriously effect my eating habits dwelling on that to long! Jess and me got a dove and a Squirrel. I missed other doves flighting from a hedge they were roost
  2. Well done and well done for smartening up his face walshie, he will appreciate that
  3. Only ones I tried in long were CCI CB loads, a 29grain bullet around 800fps. They are good on treed squirrel and sitting woodies. Some old Winchester shorts with a 27grain hp HV I found many years ago were brilliant on rabbit over 70yards. U.
  4. Muzzloader mate, I only use suppositories for medication.
  5. When you say "22long" buddy, do you mean long rifle or the old long? Most longs are low velocity but in the past HV were available and shorts. U.
  6. If I keep a tube in my bag and when a bobby jumps out the bush to enquire as to what shot I am using, I can produce the tube.
  7. The other day my Mrs brought home some hemeroid cream and to my amazement it contains amongst other ingredients bismuth! If I add some to my muzzleloader will it be legal for ducks? Thanks. U.
  8. Never had a duff round in 22wmr! Do you mouse gun users have to return the dodgy ammo for a refund? U
  9. A photo from a couple of years ago. 160 paces off hand. I ate upto the bullet hole pretty much. 22wmr. U.
  10. Bit of both, I could not locate the last two but switching a vixen call on revealed them a treat even if they did not come to it.
  11. Decided to go lamping on foot tonight. Crunch crunch crunch on the frozen ground! I walk a few miles tonight and am worn out! Got busted by one and heard a dog fox in the distance so headed that way. When I found them it was a small dog and a large vixen. The dog slipped away but the vixen hung around, she took some stalking what with hedges, closed gates, mud and frost. I ended up with a 70yd chest shot to the front. The Hornady 30grn put her straight down for good. A smart vixen just coming into season. A fair size too.
  12. Don't worry about the police, you are well in your rights to change.
  13. Flatter trajectory isn't everything mate. Bullet weight is important too. I shot fast centerfires for decades. My last one was a break from the norm, a 357mag. On paper it looks rubbish but I did no worse for it, I got some good long range shots in just the same. 160 yard shots are quite easy with the WMR and there are videos of folk using it out to 200. Nothing beats nature, gravity and wind will have its way with anything and misses will occur with anything but to sacrifice bullet weight to me is not the way forward. U.
  14. Not at all , some of you guys go for pigeons heads!
  15. You guys do way more airgun hunting than me and you make me happy, you stealthy sneeky blighters. I was off work nursing a stomach bug that by mid-day was easing so I grabbed the little used 99 and took a stroll to feed some wild pheasants of mine. I was hoping for a cock bird but only hens passed near by. So although having a blissful time we were going home empty handed but I took a photo all the same. Soon after we ended up under some roosting woodies, most were spooked by me in the near dark. One stayed, a 25 yarder. I could just make out the foresight in the we
