  4. But sometimes I try to get real close to rabbits and the dieing cover gives great opportunity, especially with the right wind direction. It's been a while using a pistol too but with some practice my confidence returned. Five yards for the first and ten for the second. Had some fun with an over confident pheasant, or could he remember me from last season! U.

I also recently bought some tiny glass jars with cork stoppers for pre measured measures of shot and powder. Worked well too. Any way I got some rabbit between the showers in the grand time that is September. What was strange today was what fell out of my first rabbit as I gutted it! Two pebble like masses fell out! Intrigued by it I cut one open! To my amazement they contained two dead and well preserved unb
  16. I bought a 700 several years ago. Not a patch on the old ones! The trigger was aweful. It took me six hours to stone the trigger! It shot lousy until I noticed the bolt handle was touching the stock when in battery! I got it sorted in the end but said never again unless an 80's bdl!
  17. A good day scouting about, reading fox sign and photography. Squirrel hunting too. Jess made a good retrieve on a badly shot squirrel and got bitten. She was murder to clean up! Photographed a spotted flycatcher too. U.
