    Had a good session with the 2e and velocitors. They certainly switch them off. Got soaked and then frozen by a cold wind. Think I will dress warmer later. U.

    Hornady developed a powder that somehow increased performance. Think it generally added a couple hundred feet per second or so. The fmj ammo is illegal for deer but will kill vermin. However the vermin might run off before they expire. If you have lots of the fmj ammo you could modify it! Don't laugh but many an fmj has been filed to remove the tip so some bullet disruption occurs. U.

    My last 308 was excellent with hornady 110grn v max and a case full of h4895 (50grn) compressed. From a 20" barrel I was getting 3160fps and a tiny bug hole group. The same rifle shot a sedate 150grn bullet from Speer at 2600fps on bl-c2 to a similar zero into a one hole group. That rifle did an excellent job of vermin and deer. U.

    I recently tried a few trophies and was impressed too. They do hit hard some how. I remember when they came out, how sad is that! U.

    They will be good on squirrel. Decades ago I got some Winchester super X 27grn HP HV and they were fantastic on rabbit. How much were they? I like S&B products and lament the lack of availability. U.

    Some folks on some forums get a roasting for taking hare's but they are fair game done right with air, especially strong air. Any shot details? U.

    There is some argument to having to much mag in the field. Lads with airguns have huge scopes on their rifle's for a sub 100 yard rifle, sub 50 for most. I have 4x and feel no handicap, just up and shoot. Eons ago. I had a 7x and a mate 8x fixed on our CF rifles and we use to reach out to 300 but could just get away with anything close. Another friend uses high mag variables and yes we have lost shots due to fiddling. U.

    The 45 I had in 177 was a nightmare to shoot well, I wish I had got a 22 as I understand they shoot better! I was disappointed as I remembered a friend having one in 17 when they came out and it was mustard and he took many a rabbit with it! Alot of the issues were the piston seal, it has been replaced with something designed to leak!! Probably a legal measure!! U.
