  1. Well done mate. 1st rabbit with the new rifle. You certainly didn't hang about
  2. Hey Ram........ Ya twat........ go and buy one :D
  3. Get him to one of those gun theme parks in America Can you imagine the smile on that lads face after he's fired a few .50 rounds through steel discs
  4. Someone should make t-shirts
  5. Cheers Charlie. Alrhough the Polymags were accurate for me up to 40yrds, I have pretty much written them off now because they won't hold their accuracy further out. I never take hunting shots at silly distances but, I do like the reassurance that a pellet will stay accurate past where I need it to be. I know that may sound daft. Good shout on the Baracuda Hunter Extreme. I tested these a while ago in .177, .22 & .25 - all sub 12. For me, the .177 did well to 50yrds and had good stopping power at around 35yrd. The .22 (in a Tx) and the .25 (in a Matardor) were both good between 3
  6. I've chopped and changed a few nice rifles over the last year - Airwolf, S510, Matador, Ultra and some others. In my opinion, the HW100kt with adjustable laminate stock beats them all hands down. It's a good looking rifle and, in it's carbine form, it handles very nicely however I shoot. It has a weight and feel that gives a reassuring impression of being solidly built. The magazine system is well designed and easy to use. It's also impossible to doubleload. The mag its self is a solid piece with no moving parts to go wrong. The trigger is very good - even I managed to eas
  7. That is a nice way to spend a warm day
  8. If it's an rfd that you know and are friendly with, he'll probably do it for free and, if it's a little over, he'll probably give you some advice. As already said, get yourself some sort of chrono. I use a Combro to keep an eye on my rifles. They're relatively cheap, they work well and, after sales service is good.
  9. Just for comparison, this is 14 quick shots, also at 58yrds, with JSB Heavies. At that range, it needed a 2 mildot hold over.
  10. Final update folks....... I shot this group at 58yrds this morning. Again, indoors, prone, off a bipod. Obviously I'm not worried about the drop at that range, that what my reticle is for. However, the grouping is shite. ......Well, that's another tin destined for the forgotten corner at the bottom of the box.
  11. Billy's like... "Only f'kin two?!?! Pahahahahaaaaahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaah. Ha." I didn't need 2 mates and a wheelbarrow for those 2 :D
  12. It is a bit of a lump. It's an A&M Marksman. I've found it to be quieter than HW, Huggett and BSA vc mods. The cover doesn't help. It's a neoprene cover that was too big until I modified it.
  13. Back to my favourite rugby club permission last night. The conditions were perfect - no moonlight, very little wind and, it wasn't cold. I had around 110bar in my HW100 - from tests, I know this is where its power peaks a little The first took a pellet just as it stood up. He fell over and gave me a little wave with his back leg. The second was in long grass, near the top of a large mound, about 45yrds away. I could see eye shine and ears. I steadied the rifle on my stick and aimed at the top of his head. I couldn't see him go down but, there's no mistaking the sound of a hit from
  14. Congratulations Mac and, Atb to little 'un. He'll be a shooter - younger siblings always want to follow the older ones
  15. If you like the TX but you're on a budget, it might be worth looking at a Bam b40. It's basically a Chinese TX clone. I haven't heard anything about them for a while but, I seem to remember reading good reviews. I think I also read somewhere that parts are interchangeable with Air Arms parts.
  16. Hmm, it looks like my theory was wrong about the longer pellets being more stable. Maybe the shorts are more stable because they have less mass. Cheers for the update Phil.
  17. Fantastic. Give 'em hell Tiz It's great to see more girls enthusiastic about the sport - my daughter loves it. Well done to Mac for helping another young 'un in. Keep us posted on her progress - it'll be nice to hear.
  18. Looking good........ again It's getting boring now, can you accidentally f**k one up please, just to liven things up a bit Seriously, nice work and, thank you for the info. I'm sure I'm not the only one that gets confidence from a bit more knowledge like that. As already said, I just don't understand why the manufacturers don't put a bit more thought into their stock finishes.
  19. No I haven't tried either pal although I have been tempted with the jsb heavies. Pm me your address - I'll send you a few of each to try.
  20. Bisley Magnums work really well in my daughters Goldstar se.... They're a good pellet and they hit hard. Have you tried Weihrauch Magnums and JSB Heavy?
  21. Nice grain. I do like the vertical striping on the fore end. Keep us updated on how he gets on with it.
  22. Honestly, I think they might have last night. There was a fair bit of cross wind but, I was getting close for each shot. The Polymags have been pretty good in tests (and 1 Pigeon) so far but, I have a lot of confidence in the JSB Heavies. I've been using them for nearly a year and they've never let me down.
  23. I don't always use one because I like stalking. A full lap of my rugby club permission can take over 2hrs. The stick worked well for me last night. Each to their own I guess
