  1. Nice shooting, especially on a permission that shounds like it's full of challenges anyway. Just one question though - why has the rabbit in the middle got a leaf up its bum?
  2. ....... Just have to keep my fingers crossed now!
  3. Happy days I do like those Airmax scopes.
  4. Nice It's great to see kids in the sport. I'll be looking forward to a review from an actual shooter in due course.
  5. I may have put up the wrong link because someone in UK is selling them. The guys who have bought them, swear by them being good kit but I have no knowledge myself. I went to look at the Viper at the shooting show and saw the add on NV range finder but the price....................................a piece of kit looking so similar can be bought on ebay for about a third of the price.http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scope-Mountable-Laser-range-Finder-Works-with-Night-Vision-Shock-Waterproof-/111973019631?hash=item1a121cafef:g:mQUAAOSwKfVXGUsP From the feedback on another forum, it appears that it is th
  6. Nice offer Mac As a temporary fix - I've got some camo tape that I'm not going to use. If you want it Treehands, pm your address over, I'll put it in the post. It is bloody sticky though.
  7. Cheers Phil, I did have a look at the link. I do like the idea of a NV range finder. I'm just reluctant to order from China after some bugger stiffed me when a cheap tablet stopped working. I'm using a Nite Site Viper at the moment. It's a good bit of kit. I keep looking at their new rangefinder.
  8. People like you are never pleased and will always throw water on another mans fire.I'm sorry for not being as shit a shot as you. Atb th Ps good luck on your upcoming penis extension operation ,hope all goes well. Mate, it's just a giggle - don't sweat it . Have a look through some of the older posts....... Mark keeps photographing frozen pidgeons, they might sell mens clothes where Rez buys his gloves and, I can't hit a rabbit, never mind a rat Welcome to THE hunting forum Ya twat
  9. Nice shooting. It would definitely have been funnier if you'd said that middle ones head popped off when you shot it It'll be interesting to know what had a go at them if you find out.
  10. Oops, sorry mate - it's .177. Yes, when using a bipod, either bench or prone, I'm still putting 14 shots well within a 5p sized group. I will give oiling the face of the mag a go. I must admit, I've never done it but, when were talking about pellets going at 750fps+, I'm happy to try any tips that improve accuracy in the field. After talking to my mate last night - what you, Phil and Matt say about hold and trigger control is ringing true. He told me that I've been a grumpy prick for a while and, that I'm probably grabbing and snatching at my rifle like a grumpy prick (We work for th
  11. I popped out tonight with my shooting mate. He knew that I was in a paddy with my latest performances so, we went off to a yard that his friend owns and, had a plinking session in the dark. We shot everything from aerosol cans to bits of hi viz jaccket on sticks. It was a good couple of hours. Also, I'm now 99% sure that my recent results are down to human error.
  12. Cheers Si, I think you're right - it was a much better night tonight.
  13. That's exactly what I felt like doing with it I won't though - my daughter likes to use it and, the missus would go mental if had to pay out for a new one.
  14. Cheers David. I've been thinking about this since you mentioned it in anothe post a couple of days ago. I can see the sense in it. I think I've got a laser here somewhere.
  15. I was using my HW100kt. It's zeroed on a bipod, off a bench, while I'm sitting, at 30yrds.
  16. If I was on any other ground, I'd be inclined to agree with you, especially as I'm shooting at night on a heads-up screen. But, this permission was hard to get. It went to a committee and I had to meet with the chairman and grounds keeper. They laid down some pretty strict rules. It's a good permission and I've been successful with it. One of the first things I did was visit with a LRF and note pad. The whole ground is covered in while-lined piches, the archery field is marked by posts every 10yrds, the 2mtr high perimiter fence has regularly spaced posts. Who knows? Maybe it's a
  17. Yep, that's right, my last 3 trips out have resulted in exactly f**k all. 3 visits to the rugby club in 2 weeks and, there's just as many rabbits as when I went last Tuesday. There's been opportunities on every visit. My rifle's good. My pellets are spot on. The NV is working exactly as it should. I've been shooting this permission for a year now so, I know it well. I don't normally go on a Monday night but, after such a crap day at work yesterday, I needed to unwind. First go - 2 rabbits close together, 40ish yrds. I creep round the tree line, get down, choose the big 'un, rif
  18. Sorry to hear about your FACs. You won't go wrong with an HW100 - Especially in .177 Atb
  19. Nice shooting. Thats the best way to see rats - in front of a reticle There's nowt wrong with that rifle mate. It reminds me of something my dad used to say - 'There's many a good tune played on an old fiddle'. Although, I don't think he was talking about rifles
  20. Nice shot Matt and, well done on the new permission.
  21. The A&M cylinder on my HW100 has a 10yr expiry date. I think it's a good idea considering it holds 200bar of pressure inches from my face.
  22. lovely groups with all those pal. Cheers Matt. I reckon I've been lucky getting this rifle - I don't know if all 100s are the same but, this one really isn't pellet fussy at all. Ooh, I feel a 'This is my rifle, this is my gun....' moment coming on
  23. I had a quick practice before work this morning. Well, more like buggering about - I tried these 3 different pellets one after the other. It's knowing that my rifle will do this consistently that gives me the confidence to go out and aim at live quarry. Without that, I wouldn't hunt. Simple.
  24. That's me, that is - unnaturaly talented. I can put a pellet past a rabbits head and make it jump without harming it at all. And I can prove it - my mate witnessed me do it 4 times in my last 2 outings
