  1. I don't always use one because I like stalking. A full lap of my rugby club permission can take over 2hrs. The stick worked well for me last night. Each to their own I guess
  2. I'm not that technical mate. I'm a bit of a div with modern technology. I take pics of what I shoot because my little 'un likes to see. I know I can record from the Nite Site but, I wouldn't know where to begin with suitable kit or, how to edit and upload the clips.
  3. That's some shooting. It's a good job you've all got buddy bottles
  4. Cheers It was one of those nights where everything went right - I fired 3 shots and got 3 rabbits. Happy days. The livers looked good on the other 2 last night. I'll check them again when I take them out of the fridge in a bit. Also, they were all shot in different areas.
  5. Those Primos sticks do look good, I may have to give one a go one day. Because I use a heads-up type nv, I usually rest my rifle on my torch, which sits agaist the drawstring inside my smock. I have been using the stick in this picture. It's cheap and cheerful and, very light. I think it cost around £6 from eBay. When stalking, I can keep the 'Y' piece against the stock and swing the bottom out of the way. I can be back on aim very quickly.
  6. We went back up to the rugby club last night, in the wind and rain. Because of the way the wind was blowing, we struggled to get anywhere near half the warrens before before the rabbits ran off. I decided to give the Polymag testing a rest so, I loaded up with my trusty JSB Heavies. These pellets are fantastic. My HW100 hits almost everything out to 75yrds at our club with these. Although I never take hunting shots at that range. The 3 rabbits from last night were all shot at less than 35yrds. The first one was a bit of a risky shot - the pellet had to through a chicken wire fence,
  7. That sounds like a nice recipe. ....How hardcore is Underdog? - He's plasticuffed those Pigeons
  8. There definitely is mate. I'm wondering if they need to fly faster than my sub 12 TX is pushing them.
  9. Now it looks good. I'm impressed How much do you want for it?
  10. Very nice I'm looking forward to getting mine out now the mornings are getting lighter.
  11. Well, the .22s are a different ball game....... My TX200hc is zeroed at 30yrds for FAPs (13.43gr), it's shooting them lovely at around 625fps/11.6ftlb. I tried the Polymags today at 30yrds indoors...... S1. 537fps / 10.25ftlb S2. 532fps / 10.05ftlb S3. 534fps / 10.18ftlb S4. 539fps / 10.31ftlb S5. 539fps / 10.31ftlb S6. 537fps / 10.24ftlb S7. 536fps / 10.20ftlb S8. 537fps / 10.20ftlb S9. 539fps / 10.33ftlb S10. 532fps / 10.06ftlb I also discovered that they need to go in perfectly straight - I pushed a couple of pellets in slightly wonky during the practice shots - thi

    Chipping

I understand them reasons but surely if the chip just had contact details of the owner and that's its. Do they have any more info? When I got my Ma's pup chipped I'm sure they took down age, breed, sex, name and colour alongside the owner details. Maybe I'm remember wrong though? You're right. That's the info they took when we had ours done.
  13. That's going to be one hell of a nice surprise for him (I love that new gun feeling). Also, I do believe that giving the young 'uns good kit means that they can concentrate on honing their skills and enjoying the sport.
  14. Bad luck I kind of wish my missus would nick my guns - it'd be nice to share the hobby with her but, she's got no interest in it all. I even offered to buy her whatever rifle she wanted a few months ago. Well done on the nice deal.
  15. I do like Danish oil. I used it on a black, blue & grey laminate stock that I made. It made the colours pop out well and the finish felt hard wearing.
  16. Cheers Mac. It was a lot less involved than the work you've been doing lately but, it was nice to do.
  17. Thanks for the kind comments. I do think I was quite lucky to get a stock with a nice looking grain. I've also done a little work on the inside - a good clean, degrease and a short stroke. The firing cycle is pretty short and sweet. It feels a little low on power at the moment. I'll have a look at it over the Combro and adjust it as needed. I'm looking forward to getting it out and getting it's first rabbit. I think it'll do well now the mornings are getting lighter.
  18. Cheers Mark. It's got a Rowan trigger guard, adjustable trigger and adjustable butt plate.
  19. After reading a few stock threads on here, I finally decided to crack on with my TX stock I had a .177 TX in beech last year but, this is the one that I really wanted - a .22 with a walnut stock that I'm very happy with. I started putting English Walnut Oil on it a week ago. The instructions say to use a little each time and rub it in with your hands. It's had 6 coats like this. It's also had a good buff with a clean rag. The result is a slightly darker stock with a satin sheen. I'm very pleased with it.
  20. Imagine the look on her face if you'd accidentally put your hw100 in there
