Watched it a bit going back but like most of these shows it gets a bit same samie and tends to over dramatise stuff that is just routine in that environment, still a lot more appealing than eastenders or emmerdale simply because there is snow, guns trapping and tracking

Think the AA 400 series is like the Morris minor of air guns you can get better,faster and more impressive, but if you just want a gun you can take out the cupboard put some air in and go shooting with no drama the 400,S win hands down, I,ve owned one for years, stuck an odd O ring in for penny,s and it’s never not been spot on even after a year or more in the cupboard ??

It was swimming in and around a big overhanging willow were I was fishing, was there for 3 weeks almost tame, on the 3rd week a camo clad Twitcher with a lense that would shoot the moon came jumping out the bush,s took a photo and told me about the bird, I never saw it again after that? the lake must be on a migration route as it,s had a few pretty rare visitors over the years, saw a pied fly catcher there caught in a mist net and though I never saw it was an osprey on there for a week or so some years back ?

All my local shoots are on private land, they give the beaters a sausage sarny and a brew at the start and a belly full of scrumps at the end,half the local pis heads are there every other Saturday ? -
Several years back when I was fishing I saw a little grebe simular to that and never even took a picture I was told after it was a red something, neck/face grebe and was one of 9 known in England at the time, ?

Exactly that mate except it’s even easier now than in the 80,S as every farm , forest and country estate has public footpaths running through them which were never maintained or highlighted with signs and shiny new gates, back in the day, I walk many miles a week with my terrier and lurcher in tow, and very rarely get accosted like I used to, most farmers just say morning now or give a little wave as I walk through, google earth is a fantastic tool for finding your way on and off property your not meant to be on via footpath,s, I will be gaining entry to a large quarry in the morning to set so -

Nothing is ever new it just gets re invented, and in years to come someone will rediscover country sports and it will once again be the next great new thing, that everyone is encouraged to get involved with, probably best to let the world go through it’s vegan phase before the big revival though, hopefully things may have changed enough that we are allowed to hunt vegans in its next coming ??? -

I don’t know all the details mate I was sent a copy of it within an hour of it being taken, several month,s later I was told it was being offered to the papers for sale, I can only assume they had second thoughts and honoured the woman’s choice to stay anonymous or the papers never offered them enough money to justify a family rift, I have been told by several people that the footage is a cut out being dragged on string through the hedge??? but I have seen it frame by frame and the tip of the tail is flicking constantly, before it slides away through the hedge the quality of the original is go

One more little point I will make is that if you don’t find a kill within 12 - 24hrs its been cleaned up by badgers, Fox,s and even corvids so even finding one fresh kill is pretty much a needle in a haystack ?

I believe it is every Englishman’s right to own a shotgun and the authority,s have to provide a valid reason to refuse, I may be wrong never owned more than an air rifle myself but I thought that was the law, just more pandering to the looney left is all it is, -
