    To bloody hot here for them here, looks a beauty You don't need to attach the rain cover so you can sleep with just the bug net above you ....... Its when it rains and you need the cover they are hot here,I have a ground mounted one almost the same good star gazing without getting bit by mozies

    That’s my mate Kev i’m behind the camera, anything under 20 Celsius he wears a coat lol most days got to about 25, 29 was the warmest day we had still spring here so still a bit cool for us

    Just got back from a week and a half away on a ferreting, spotlighting job below is a few snaps of my young pup Zip 11 months old in 3 days. We had a ball and we did pretty well out of it, Zip is improving and exceeding all my expectations, especially in the light (no slip required working of voice command) and recall is perfect, not bad considering this was her first time in the light, I was impressed with her obedience, it would of been easy for her to take off and run wild the 200 acre paddock we were spotlighting in had hundreds of rabbits, and a fair few fox’s too, will keep her off them

    They are hard to keep the weight off unless you run them ALOT true.problem was she was so fat she couldn't run far so its taken ages to slim her down and build her fitness up. Getting betterevery day you see a lot them that are kept for pets, very over weight, bit like labs.

    +2, ive noticed and read on the Oz sites that the ebt , seems more popular to use on pigs, than the apbt ./ i would have thought the apbt would have been better choise being more agile and game type dog . i know you out x to other breeds when you use them as well, but even in that or in pure form thought a pit would be better . having been round bull breeds bullmastiffs,ebt,apbt,staffs, the pit would be my 1st choice to use as a working dog pure or out x I agree mate, but unless you breed your own they are like hens teeth, people tend to stick with what they know, and apbt n

    Looks like it will finish up turning like a greyhound bus, need more whippet they do. Cracking pups mate,coming along nicely. Still like cloud.

    I have seen a few of this breed work over the years, and the good ones were very good. most of the ones we kept were rough coated. I still have a 3/4 but she is 3/4 whippet x DH/grey

    They have been extensively tried and tested here mate, and there forte is pigs, getting the mix right even for that job usually takes a couple of generations ,first crosses can have a couple of bad traits that can be difficult and in some cases impossible to break ( I have seen a few shot for this) ie back leg biting and they LOVE sheep

    I have owned, and worked next to dozens of acd x’s predominantly used with bull type dogs for pigs in Aus, they are renowned for their ability to run all day, endure heat, have exceptional feet , and a reasonable nose for a scrub dog in Aus they are hard to beat for pig hunting scrub. there are better breeds to use for running dogs imo.

    I would work on the most obedient one to respond to the leave it (or simular command) its isn’t easy, I have this problem too, and just starting to get on top of it especially hard when both are possessive and stubborn. With patience and repetitiveness you will overcome it, be wary not to be to hard just persistent you don’t want to ruin retrieve or make them scared to do their job slow and easy.
