  5. Sounds like a common thing to me mate, had a few pups over the years do that kind of thing early on, I think it’s just inexperience. The rabbit fur on a ball will help, and take it out with a dog that knows the trade also they take young (small) ones easier when getting use to picking up and holding don’t be overly concerned unless it won’t chase or gives up easy, if she does that ok, then the rest is a matter of time – A.T.B Doug
  6. . Most people I know with working bully,s wether it be staff, English or apt types, would not really be up for sticking pics of themselves and there dogs all over the web, when about the only legal quarry left for a dog now is bunny,s , why would you need a bull terrier, they have their uses https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbcBYIjtxBI

Sperm 1 – Hey what are you doing? Hurry up you are going to miss the big race Sperm2 – What race? Sperm 1 – The race to become a human dopey Sperm2 – Oh that shite I don’t believe in humans There once was a man who did not believe in trucks, even though all visual and audible evidence was contrary to his belief, to prove his point he stood in front of an oncoming vehicle. The moral of the story is, it doesn’t matter what you believe, in the end that won’t change the truth, but possibly the destination...
  8. The brown bitch is my marking dog, the pup (whippet x deerhound/grey) is doing ok. My point is mate I've seen and owned my share of running dogs for all game over the years and have an idea about what they can and cant do, so when I hear dogs cant run on hard ground or heat I dont understand or agree. just my opinion although Socks made a valid point.
  9. Every dog in this picture was mine, a mix of running and holding dogs not one of them under 30 Kilos. The brown bitch I have now is 28 Kilos and the 9 month old pup next to her is 12k atm

  14. The difference is that your dogs are brought up in that heat from the day they are born so they are acclimatised to it ... I am sure that if you brought your dog across here and worked it on a high fell in December it would suffer with the cold far more than a dog bred over here ....... I understand mate but, that is your climate and the dogs have the capability to work in your own heat and ground if given enough exposure. Just my opinion, we run dogs on hard ground all year round with no visible effects even into old age so it stands to reason its not the dogs inability to do it. I'v
  15. There is more than an element of truth to this, a pup’s workload and condition still needs to be carefully, individually monitored and managed, but I do agree.
  16. Good job Mate. I dont understand the too hot thing, dogs are far more adaptable than given credit for, the proof is in every Aussie working dog same breeds Just saying. ATB - Doug
