    was out lamping foxes a few year back when i started calling a fox a hare came within 20 yards of us and the lurcher it then followed us all the way up the field never seen it happen before or since...

    Bring the pup out along hedge rows every so often change direction along a different hedge when the pup is not watching it will panic when it cant see you and will come looking. It should soon learn to pay attention to you as it will be waiting to see where you are going

    In fairness though you also have a fair chance of the pups throwing to big to work tight cover quickly and with a tendency to work the edge of cover and not in it atb

    First cross whippet russell if your worried about cover being a bit hard use a wire haired russell over a whippet you have a chance of a few broken coated pups
