Your man fancies himself a bit, if I posed like that out in the fields the grey crows would slaughter me. Dogs look well worked, although one or two pics could and should of been left out.

See loads on here saying they getting lots of work for terriers due to hounds pushing them down, I've never used one or know f all about them. There is a crew local to me having good run of luck with one, a harrier I think, so is that the way to go, what's the best type to use on its own(not a pack). I walked the legs off myself yesterday and checked a dozen or so places, no luck, but they are about, lots of scats and smells, couple of freshly kicked out places, see them regular on the lamp when after the rabbits. Would a hound aid my cause?

Very nice Dublin dezzy, did you have any luck? Are they bull Russell's?

One dig only, too warm and too much cover for them to be lying up in. Pissing rain now and grass frost to come tonight so fingers crossed for tomorrow.

I have yet to come on a set-earth that has not at least 1 stop in it,especially concerning badgers[pre-ban] as they like to lay up in a nice bed of grass or such.I am not knocking Blaise's dogs, horses for courses but i reckon its the dog that is not able to drive-push the quarry into the stop.Years ago pre-ban if an animal was dug and released it would take a good terrier to get a result the next time it was entered to the same animal as it would not be pushed to a stop so easily 2nd time around and the terrier had to really work and presure it to get it in a stop, big difference in diging anim

Is it not strange that these dens/setts have no stop ends, or am I reading it wrong and it's that the quarry will not go to them? Instead chooses to keep going round and round. Or is the dog not able to hold them there?

You dug this place before Pablo? Looks like your sure to hit roots on the way down.

90% of the time I'm out alone and only have one earth dog with me so she's loose with collar on from get go, on 3 different occasions last year after checking known dens, which looked active but dog was not interested, she instead found and entered previously unknown dens within a couple of hundred yards from known dens, small dens not very big or deep but without the dog they did not look active and would not have been found. If dog not free running for me I would not get half the digs I get.

Ok rippem, good man. I know this thread is about nuttal, but has me thinking, surly he wasn't the only one that sought out this market, has to be others no? Any other so called big names that chased the American dream?
-
Lol, read my post again you illiterate f**k, I was standing up for you, telling people on here not to be telling you how to go about your business, that you and you alone know the type you need, yea prick.
-
I'd imagine rippem knows best what type he needs, he's the one working them ffs, lads on here telling people how to go about there business on another continent, comical bunch sometimes. As for nuttal, an opportunity arose to supply a market with a type required and he was first off the blocks, a clever man no matter what some on here think. If you disagree with what he has done or how his dogs have developed to what they are today then simply put it out of your head and move on.

Had to look twice at the picture of the "hatrick", thought they were rabbits, would you say they are all litter mates from this year? -
Anybody got a link on the what these are or aren't entitled to do as regards dogs? Laws etc?

Sad, old timers are old timers for a reason, loyalty works both ways, she must of been a good one.

Get a staff, a small one, won't go wrong, you'll have to travel to Poland though.

Just a word we used Neil, it was never earth or sett, it was fox den or badger den, most use the correct terms nowadays.

I walked several permissions yesterday just to have a look, only a lurcher with me, no terrier, nothing looked used, but lots of fox shit about so they are about, also picked up a leather terrier collar that someone left behind at a den, obviously took off to let a dog run it, was not dug, maybe they got a bolt, who knows, way too warm either way.
