  1. Is this a wind up, and all other posts of encouragement, are they also a wind up. The only advice I can give yea is get out of dogs and get yourself a PlayStation.
  2. What's the temperment like ? Is it forward pup?? it doesn't sound like it , somewhere deep down I wonder if he wants it enough , if he hasn't had a whack off something or he doesn't fully get the hunting thing yet only you know He may mature into it by the end of this winter you should be well able to tick his box ,He a very forward dog, lots if confidence, never had any hairy moments around cover, jumps wire and ditches no problem, he'll run flat out with twists and turns out in the field but pulls up just before that last bit of pressure is needed, I'll give him plenty of chances between
  3. I've a dog here, 18 Mts old, has had half a dozen nights on the lamp and caught 10 or so, bred from my own bitch and mates dog, both who are as determined as yea like, no way would either parent let a rabbit tip toe into cover, would kill themselves to get that rabbit, but the pup will run a rabbit flat out to about 2 or 3 yards off the ditch and turn and let it go, he done this 8 or 9 times the last night out 3 weeks ago before he was collared up and brought home, not been lamped since. Any rabbit he's caught has been away from cover, very frustrating as parent will plough through anything wh
  4. Very nice hound Hannibal, I have a similar looking type, only 1/4 deerhound in her, very determined bitch, would have your heart in your mouth watching her sometimes.
  5. Any old cur would do what yea want, it's only sitting in a digger and killing the odd rat ffs, it's up to you to ensure its good with other dogs and stock, not the dog.
  6. there will be plenty of failures advertised soon enough... I've tried and failed in the past to buy a quick fix , other folk might tell you different but get a couple well bred pups and play the long game.. good luck..atb seskuNearly as hard to get well bred pups, maybe easier if your in the mix with various groups but for the likes of me, I keep to myself and am happy to have it that way but have no access to decent stock because of it, buying in blind and a potential 18 months wasted, and I've had some shit about me, but the last one did pay off, a red fell type I've had here for last 6 year
  7. Rubbish. I'd sell a family member for the right money, no trial, also no returns.
  8. Same as Pablo, good few places kicked out but nobody home, but they are about, all the signs are there. Pissed rain all night and even when I was out, but they not dropping, did manage a bolt out of cover but lurcher was on wrong side and missed her opportunity, need a dip in temperature.
  9. No such thing as an 'all in one', simply don't exist. Typical German supremacism, always trying, but never succeeding.
  10. Has to be one of laziest things I have ever seen, what's next, a self drive car to trot them around for yea. If your not fit enough to exercise them yourself then your not fit enough to work them,
  11. Help him out lads, it's his birthday today.
  12. Really like that red dog Pablo, what way does he work, bay? Mix?
  13. Maybe put out an invite to some lads that do it and see first hand what's going on, learn about equipment, dogs, first aid on dogs, and general practices really, you may realise it's not for you and it will save you from rehoming dogs or ferrets. Best of luck either way, I've yet to meet any dog man that didn't enjoy watching their dog hunt and kill a rat, no great achievement but brilliant to watch.
  14. Didn't hinder him lol, didn't do him any favours in the end though.
  15. Apache, dog must of being young to only have 3 digs, do you not think he may have settled down over time?
  16. Why do you care what people think? shouldnt have to prove anything to anybody, especially to strangers on the Internet.
  17. Sold on for some serious dough I heard.
  18. I get what rippem is saying, I don't see it as racist at all. The wrong people are getting the breed for the wrong reasons, not his fault they happen to be black druggies.
  19. Brilliant result from what sounds like a terrible situation, I am delighted for yea.
  20. How heavy are the chainsaw boot mate, they must be really tough, are they comfy? LolWhat's the lol about? Don't know if you been sarcastic or not. They are a heavy boot, and are comfy to a point, but you know your wearing them after 8 or 9 hours work and tripping over brash roots and briars, also waterproof, and best of all, your feet are safe from slip of saw. Nah mate was not been sarcastic, I put the lol after the question about them being comfy? What ones you for mate. Can you throw up a link.[/quote Get yea now, don't know how to put up links sorry, they are the class 3 versio

  22. Hard to get an all in one, but definitely recommend meindl dorve for lamping/bushing, maybe a cheap pair of something for digging that you don't mind wrecking.
  23. I had them meindl dorve boots, brilliant boot but not for digging, wasn't long putting a hole in the sole of them. I now use Arbortec fellhunter, a chainsaw boot, very heavy and not for plodding around in all day, but a good tough boot.
