  1. BASC but to be honest they are crap value for money unless you attend the game fair as you get in free so Countryside Alliance is very good on it's policy and cost, about £20 per year and they do cover for guns as well under a seperate policy I believe. Phil
  2. My shooting buddy and myself are wating to hear from a company to give us the go ahead to shoot the rats in a big waste containment area. My pal went to see them and took his sub 12 to show them what we use or not as the case. As a demo, he shot 17 rats in just over 15mins..............................if health and safety approve this, it is going to be amazing but apparently very smelly. Phil
  3. I will be interested to hear how you went on but will not be at all surprised if you struggled and that is not being unkind just simply remembering how hard I found my TX200hc, I could just about keep the shots on a post card. I watched pianoman (Simon) and Bigmac (Jimmy) and even little hunter (Ethan) all make it look so bloody easy but I was shitshot with it UNTIL I had it tuned and then the story changed and it was a tack driver even for me. Hopefully I will be meeting up with Si next week to get my hands on the 99 after he has tuned it, I was pleased before it went so really looking
  4. It may be worth taking a gun or more to an rfd to check just in case you have a fault with your chrono, Phil
  5. Some really nice shooting Mark, who shot it for you mate...............................................? Phil
  6. On my first perm, I prepared a letter so that in case of being stopped, I had something in writing ready. The farmer didn't want to go that way and 9000 acres later, I have not bothered again trying to get it all in writing. The method Si has mentioned to call 101 and ask for the control desk is what my pal and myself did during the lockdown and there is no reason why that cannot continue but as the restrictions have been lifted, we just go and shoot. I would have no problems in going that route again as it was very easy and the police were always very friendly and grateful for being in the
  7. Well I am sure the US hunters will want them for squirrel hunting along with home protection....................................? Phil
  8. ooooooer so looking forward to getting it back Si, you are welcome to come over or we can arrange something. I am on the pigeon tomorrow afternoon but we can have a chat to sort it mate. Phil
  9. There’s a lad making some .25 slugs for me to test sick of waiting for the big manufacturers to release them Well Si you kept that quiet mate......................................might need a trip over the Scarborough when you get them. ? Phil
  10. I like the clamp Dave, now that would be good on my trigger stick tripod, i just checked on ebay, £24 - 50 and from Finland so plus £9 post. hmmm Phil
  11. Many a true word spoken in jest me thinks ? Phil
  12. Might be worth talking to York Guns Ben as they are quite big into Hushpower type guns AND ammo. I know they have some Cheddite specialist sub cartridges in .410 so they may also do something in 20 gauge as well. worth a call anyway. Phil
  13. I didn't say they were cheap but to a man of your standing Jon, just pay out of your back pocket matey. ? Phil
  14. I like the look of the Williams rear sight Jon, very very nice indeed. I may have some green fibre optic if you need any more, not seen it for a while but sure its around somewhere. There is the specialist company in Ireland who do a huge range of front and rear sights if you want to progress the project https://www.intershoot.co.uk/acatalog/Rearsights.html Phil
  15. Totally agree, on the odd occasions I have been in touch with them (never a broken scope) they have been so helpful. I phoned one day after losing a set of lens covers on a farm, no problem, a set was sent foc. Phil
  16. Those two rats are whoppers, nice bag indeed FH. Phil
  17. It may be worth getting in touch with Johnbaz on here as he does loads with old air rifles and may be able to point you in the right direction. https://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/profile/13119-johnbaz/ Phil
  18. I just had a set of med on my 110k with a 44mm objectiev but as I recall, there was plenty of room as the weaver rail is well clear of the barrel. Phil
  19. Cat food, peanut butter, jam, honey, sweet corn........................................or find out what they are eating and put more of that down but whatever you use try to place it in a safe area such as under the edge of a pallet or make your own shelter and leave it in place for a few days. Rats will always try to take their food into a safe area. My dairy farm perm where rats were in plentyful supply were climbing into the cattle feed troughs so they were very easy to shoot but in many cases you need to outwit them as these little buggers are not stupid even to the point that we had
  20. I simply cannot agree with you there matey for the reasons already given. Badgers are hugely destructive to anything in their path and control is needed, we have so many badgers in our area it is astonishing and needs some government intervention to put some control on them. THEY are what causes wildlife to disapear not pheasants....... Phil
