  1. Fantastic day, well done that man. A red letter day like this goes with you to your grave, dreams are made of stories like this. Phil
  2. Just an update, the Caesar Guerini 32'' was a failure on testing and had me completely stumped why. I had issues with not looking directly down the rib and for sure there was not as much cast as on my DT10 however that was not the problem as I found out a little while later at home, it was the grip. The DT10 has a tighter radius on the grip with a more pronounced palm swell which I was very used to and this makes you place your hand in exactly the same place every time, the CG however has a poor grip allowing the hand to be in different positions and in turn this caused a slight twist to hap
  3. I started buying my .25 by the case as it saves farting around sending off for more pellets and you get the same batch number which again just makes life easier. What do you think to the ATN Phill as I have seen one or two of those s/h for not a lot of money as everyone was buying Pards which I believe is seen as a better solution and certainly lighter than ATN but I like the look of yours. Phil
  4. I think your farmer friend needs to have a word with her if she is living on his land. I agree with pav, there is a lot to be said about registering in with the police although since the restriction on shooting has been lifted, I have not been phoning in to them. Phil
  5. I was advised that the Hornady 20g was by far the best ammo in that weight and to be very honest, I would sell my guns if I had to use bloody Winchester as I find them to be very inconsistant in both wmr and lr versions. I will be very interested to hear how you go on with the Hornady SD..................................................I am also having a bit of an itch regarding hmr which may need to be scratched if the itch doesn't go away ? Phil
  6. How are you doing Tim, you been hiding yourself away matey. Hope you and the family are well. Phil
  7. I had a look at Si.s 97 yesterday and it is so much easier to load than AA rifles, my old TX was a pain in the rear to load pellets and would never have one again. Phil
  8. There seems to be an issue loading my photobucket photos. Sorry about that. Phil
  9. In March my wife did the same as most of the population did and that was to stay at home, I am retired and my wife is self employed so money is not overflowing but during this period we decided for quality of life that she would retire with immediate effect although she will not get state pension for another 18 months. With this in mind we thought about selling our Beretta shotguns which are worth a few grand as we will not be clay shooting that much because of costs. Trish made her mind up to sell her 692 custom skeet and go for something cheaper, a deal was done and after testing a Kof
  10. Good to hear you are back on the clays. My wife and I are shooting this afternoon at a local sporting club then with luck over to Beverley tomorrow for a session on trap. Phil
  11. Funnily enough they have just got in a green 100 which is the first one I have actually seen in the flesh so to speak, very very nice and I totally agree DB one in the 110 would be bloody good. I had a 100TK in the past and always liked the thumbhole stock but in all honesty, as much as I love the 110 in laminate, I am not 100% sure I want to go back to that type again, jury is out on that one but as I cannot afford it now antway. Phil
  12. Is this for the Raider Jimmy, if so the Photon will be a bit limiting during daylight I would have thought but again the only experience I have was the one I borrowed from you and in all fairness I am sure I didn't have it set up properly. I believe you can get some low prices on them now. Phil
  13. I have just got back home from the rfd and yes I did drool over the laminate version again, thinking of selling of of my guns sooooo I may get a .177 soon. Phil
  14. Yes I had forgotton about CZ, another great shame.
  15. Yes they are superb, mine was the 110k, shorter and very quick to get on target, loved the gun but not the calibre which was .22, had it been a .177 I would not have sold it however having said that I was impressed with some of the longer range rabbits I shot with it but that was not it's job, the Impact fac is for that. I do miss that little gun and will at some stage get another. The new laminated stock versions are bloody lovely, I keep picking one up in the rfd and no doubt I will be again today when I go in. Phil
  16. Really good sub 12 gun, I must get another. Phil
  17. I had a long chat with a guy in the rfd before lockdown who had swapped his Pard for one. He has a youtube channel or blog or something like that and was critical about the image quality he got from his various nv systems and said this gave the best image reproduction which in turn also means the image you see was excellent. These were his comments not mine but he did show me some of the footage on his phone of examples of film shot on both Pard (cannot remember which one 007 or 008) and the Wraith films were so much sharper. That was my only experience of the Wraith I have but I was ver
  18. Very very true there Mark but I am working towards it. That has taken a long time for you to respond, quick as ever marky ? Phil
  19. We all are DB ever since we put up the trail camera.................? Phil
  20. Your write up is excellent Ian as usual but at the moment I am just drooling over your Jimny, oh I like that very much. Phil
  21. There are loads of polishing kits you can get for angle grinder but would they suitable for the the job in hand...............................I am useless with this sort of thing so I cannot say but here are some https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=polishing+kit+for+angle+grinder&_sacat=0 I have a couple of Dremmels and have quite a wide selection of tool accessories including a range of polishing items and I would have thought the Dremmel would be much easier to use on the internals as a grinder is a bit on the wild side but this is my just l
  22. I don't think you can ever make a springer quiet like a pcp rifle but the Swift Stumpy I fitted to my old TX did have a slight improvement and I am guessing the 97 would be similar. Phil
  23. I take it we are talking ,22 cal here DB. Phil
