  1. I would have been happier if I had caught a few fish but as I went blind without current knowledge, I just wet line and lures, still enjoyed mind Billy.
  2. Quote :- If any of you are thinking of getting a addon or gun mounted rangefinder, then give them a try . These are the best addon I have seen and even better than the awful photons and TV screen NV , sorry if any of you have these NV units but that is my opinion You are a snob Mitch and give no credence to either skint factor or old tart syndrome...............................? Phil
  3. Oh....... nice one Mitch. If you cannot get a delivery date soon, send an email to Fredricth at FX (think that is how you spell his name) and he will tell you exactly when the gun will be here and from what I have heard, an email or phone call does wonders to speed things along. He is the owner of FX and his details are easy to get on youtube and web site. Looking forward to your review when you get it mate. Phil
  4. Just come back from a few days in Anglesey and boy there are a lot of rabbits there. Talking to the guy whose b&b we stayed in and he said the levels are very high and if we go again he might be able to put me onto a bit of shooting. I had a chat with a guy who came fishing on Moelfre rock pier who said he shoots most of the caravan sites in the area out of season with good results using his sub 12. I love that place although the weather could have been better. I will take the rifle next time. Phil
  5. This forum has quite a few good blokes and Si is deffo up there along with .................. no I won't embarrass them. I have not come across a group on any forum who are ready to help out a fellow forum member, or I should say forum friend like we do on here. Phil
  6. I couldn't agree more Mitch. I wouldn't have a gaystate as a gift, well not true, I would and then flog it as soon as poss and use the money for something decent although of course the s/h value will be shite. I still have a slot for a .22 barrel kit for the Impact but not found I needed it so I dare say that may well be cleared on renewal although I might keep it just in case. Phil
  7. I had a look at these add-ons mitch but my right eye is getting more burred which is a fcuking pain in the arse. I will stick to the Nitesite which I am able to use during the day if needed as I have found it works very well providing scope is on min mag to locate stuff. Hawke Airmax is crap on any add on and to be honest I am going to sell mine and go back to an MTC for night use as they are far better. I have now seen and handled the Crown in wood laminate .............................................. fcuking fantastic in the hand. Superb balance, quite light and fee
  8. Yep, thats our Jimmy, always a big heart and a generous one at that. I also gave mine away a few months ago as I never used it. Several mags in the pocket and a tin with the AA neoprene cover to keep it quiet in the bag. Phil
  9. As I have said before, I have no issue with having a license after all I have them for shotguns and firearms so one more is fine. It is without doubt a terrible thing to happen, he is not the first and he will not be the last and that is a fact, license or no license. One of my old staff lost his 21year old son about 8 years ago with a stray pellet from his friend's air rifle went through his eye and into the brain. I have never seen a man so shattered as he was but when we were able to talk about the incident, he was not at all against guns in any way, it was after all a very sad acciden
  10. I thought you had sold the Hawke scope to Mark. Phil
  11. I do like them but at the price point, they are no match for an Impact so my money would stay in my pocket until there was enough for the better gun. There was a few articles I read quite some time ago where they were saying the Mk1 was very iffy with some being superb and others not so, the magazine was also criticized but the Mk2 was a far better gun. I would still have the Impact Jimmy. Phil
  12. The CLA of recent years as far as I know had the show for the north at Harewood house, near leeds which to me was a really crap venue and the clay shoot there was really bad, about 500mts between each area and if it rained there was never enough tracking to walk on. One of the best venues in my mind was Belvoir Castle but that was just my opinion. I have to say The Game Fair group have done a remarkable job in a short space of time taking over the CLA show and Game Fair who were the company who took over the rights of the CLA show............................confused ??? lets le
  13. Well we cancelled the hotel which we didn't have to pay anything so that was a bonus and the trip to the Game Fair with the weather showing a possible rough time over the next few days. If things pick up however, we will go down. I have to say this show is in my mind far better than the CLA and the venue is far far better. I won't be looking to buy anything in particular, just a really good day out for both of us, the rain is the real crunch however and that will dictate whether we go or not. Normal car parking is free. Phil
  14. It looks like we might be screwed anyway as flash floods are forecast for my village so it seems like the hotel will have to be cancelled and we sit tight to be on hand if things turn bad as they have before. More bloody money down the drain.
  15. A warm welcome aboard Gaz. Just get used to the gun and enjoy using it before you get into the, upgrading thing we all seem to do. It would be very well worth you while to get hold of as many different pellets as you can to see which give you the best results. JSB produce 'test tins' with about 7 different types so it keeps the cost down. https://voymir.com/13_jsb If the rifle is new, give the barrel a good clean with a pull through to get rid of the gunk they coat it in to protect it during storage. You already have a decent Hawke AO scope so you are good to go. The
  16. Enjoy it Billy. I sold my AA T200 target rifle and whilst I no longer shoot bell target, I really wished I had still kept hold of it for a rainy day. Phil
  17. I was watching the weather report last night and Friday is going to be a couple of degrees cooler and much fresher so spot on for the Game Fair visit on Friday. I must admit the CLA Game Fair was going down the pan and everything was soooo expensive but we went to Ragley Hall two years ago when 'The Game Fair' had taken over the show and was impressed. We are booked in a hotel only ten minutes drive from the show so no fighting with big traffic jams. Any of you guys going. Phil
  18. You will need the kit Dan. One for the tank, one for the rifle filler and the plug. The kit allows you to quickly switch from one rifle fitting to another in seconds. Another advantage of the plug is that you can simply turn on the air flow while the plug is in place which will show you on the tank gauge what pressure you have in the tank. Here is a full kit https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/323332287239?chn=ps Phil
  19. I have fac air and rimfires but to be truthfull a .25 fac air will do a fantastic job for you and a range just as good as any .22 rimmy using sub ammo. I think it is unlikely you will get an open ticket to start off with, as Deker has said, it tends to be given after some time has passed and experience gained. I applied for mine recently which was two years after I got my ticket at the same time as I put in for a couple of variations on my ticket. Ask your firearms officer first but I think you will be very lucky to get an open ticket straight away and there was no issues at all.
  20. Now that a shed load cheaper than a Ward unit Mitch. Looks very compact as well. Phil
  21. My pal used one of the screw poles from his fishing brolly and then pushes the hide poles in the holes already made. I have one Si for my brolly, just never think to take it but I am happy with these new pole bases. You need to get that FAC Si, two bunnies tonight with the Impact at 91mt and 117mt, both outright kills within a few seconds of each other. I do need to confess however that I missed two more at less than 35mt..........................what a tit. Phil
  22. Never heard of peanut butter for squirrels, I know it works for rats. How do you apply it for squirrels. Phil
  23. Or use this. http://www.shootingclubdirectory.com/ Phil
  24. Zziplex butt, now sorted View Advert Hi fellas I am looking for a Zziplex 2500 carbon butt section for a beachcaster that I have the Tip section. This rod's butt was cut down was cut down to make an uptide outfit as it was at that time surplus as I had a few different Zzippys but now I fancy taking this lovely soft action rod back into use again. If anyone should have a butt section they don't want, please let me know. Phil Advertiser philpot Date
