  2. I would love to get some good clear action pics out lamping. here is a night time still. not really relivant but hey at least i'm trying
  3. I think the picture is brilliant! Edit out the little lightening effect and you have something worthy of hanging on the wall or using in a book. Or perhaps I have a funny appreciation of art.... I will second that.
  4. brilliant love the old spitfires. the iconic fighter plane of all time for me. would have loved to have seen them flying. thanks for sharing
  5. top notch. only ever seen one at the side of the road. sadly it was squashed :cray:I would love to catch a glance at one never mind get an image like them
  6. I have a plummer around that size mate. very small . good luck with chick
  7. mine can have his moments . I must be doing something wrong he is in house with a big family grand children- children and young adults. and a few terriers thrown in. rock solid with ferrets . but if anything crosses the line. in his case. his bed and his food. then god help it. this is of course easy managed. I have to say he has never lifted a lip to a human. he is a great family dog and loyal companion. if he does kick off there are no warning signs that I can pick up. good luck with the dog oh forgot to mention mine has been a fair old worker
  8. PS you can see the male in the middle of the bottom pic
  9. there is a nest at work so took pics for this thread. pics took today. a lass at work wants to know if she can do anything to help em on. ? Kay this made me late for my tea these are a second clutch. best of luck to them. dirty little beggers
  10. The whole point of a line is to breed best to best within that line mate .Best to best of this and that can produce good stuff but what then .Its a gamble .The lads that have tge stuff have foresight as well as the ability to choose breeding stock .Producers of producers are the goal not one off world beaters I know what your saying foxdropper. and have seen some very good line bred terriers . but ive also seen good crossbreds or even mongrels worker to worker ...produce on a regular basis. I think a lot of folk think that these worker to worker breedings are done with little or no foreth
  11. I have over the years kept and bred a couple of crossbreds. plummer russells. laky rulssells. and border lakies. they all did the job fine. and some did it well. why is it some folk think they have better in there kennel than others when the truth is they may well not have. firstly I hear that you should breed best to best no exeptions then I here folk shouting about close breeding. at the end of the day close breeding is very restrictive only allowing the selective few quality dogs. this should in turn produce a high % of quality pups. that breed to type. I have always thought that you shou
  12. get someone round too take a decent pic. of them
  13. no he is silent He looks a cracking dog I might have a bit of an obsession with these whirriers, I saw a regular poster on here mention he crossed lakelands with greyhounds but he reckons they didn't work? that may have been me. I bred a litter of laky./ greyhounds twentyfive years ago now. they never set the heather on fire tbh I regret not using my old beddy whippet. a very hard little old style lurcher that genuinely would face the devil . but you live and learn. when your young you think you can reinvent the wheel. I now have a similar style whirrier with old ozzy
  14. some of the places ive had my dogs at. scotland
  15. I was watching a young osprey not to long ago. it was sat on a branch in the pissing rain on a dull wet miserable day. it sat there for a couple of hours . it looked suicidal. and no wonder. . it would have been a great chance to get a pic on a sunny day. but that's sods law for ya
  16. if you want a plummer get it from workers and take a pup that way there is only you and the dog can be blamed if it don't work out. far to many are bred for pets and get passed on at this stage. no training spoiled rotten. then flung at a hole. no wonder they have a bad rep. poor feckers
  17. nice sort them. good luck with your pup
  18. it would need to be narrowed down a little to be impressive. a red. that would mean if my dog caught a month old red calf I would have the bragging rights for me it would have to read my dog took a fully mature twelve pointer red deer stag in flight on open ground and despatched it humanely in a country where its not against the law ONLY ON THE HUNTING LIFE. LMFAO. THERE ARE FAR TO MANY VARIABLES IN THE WORD (RED) there used to always be someone who had a dog that could kill a badger back in the day. and whilst i'm sure it happened I wouldn't put it down to a special dog more lik
  19. good working dogs that are out regular take injuries . a dog that is durable is not the ones that sail through a full career without any injuries. its the dog that has the ability to shake off the knocks and has a good rate of recovery from the injuries that are inevitably sustained.. a dog that works without many injuries isn't durable its downright lucky.
  20. Jimmy wouldn't be a Scottish lad by any chance...?? some folk say that there are not many charactors left in the dog game. lol. jimmy and a few more ive known should be on the old charactors thread lol
  21. Jimmy wouldn't be a Scottish lad by any chance...??
  22. the cobby slower lurchers tend to be less injury prone . at least that's my opinion. ive had a couple of speedsters and they spent a fair bit of there short working lives in the sick bay. the most durable ones ive owned and seen have been first cross. collies or terrier crosses.
